Gray's clones aren't really the main factor here. The main factors are durability, attack potency and speed. As Gray doesn't have any considerable hax, Gajeel wins this due to having superior stats until more feats are shown. It's as simple as this.

We're not saying Gray's clones are the main factor but considering that you cannot prove Gajeel is better than Gray in all those stats that you listed above, I'd say it could possibly be the deciding factor. Again, Gray's clones were just one example. There are plenty of other ways that Gray can counter Gajeel by using intelligence. Of course, the main factor is Gray's finishing attack which will have to be noteworthy enough in power to take down Gajeel. This wouldn't be far-fetched though as we've seen him possess such power in the manga.

Gajeel is faster in ISD form for being faster than Torafusa and for keeping up with Shadow-possessed Rogue.
His durability is an obvious factor due to his magic's nature. Furthermore, he tanked all of Torafusa's attacks and some of Possessed Rogue's attacks.
For DC, we have ISD Gajeel being as strong as LFD Natsu and him being unable to scratch Etherious Torafusa. With Steel Mode, only one slash defeated Etherious Torafusa, which means that SDM Gajeel is stronger than LFD Natsu offensively. And of course, LFD Natsu > Gray :hurr

Furthermore, he has intang and if he has full intel, then these clones and these "intelligence factors" aren't doing anything.

Some of your points here are weak and I'll explain why.

First of all, Gajeel is ISD form is faster than his base form but that does not mean he is faster than Gray. Also, saying that he is faster than Torafusa does not mean anything because Torafusa is arguably the slowest of the 9 Demon Gates as Jackal is faster than him. Even Franmalth who is incredibly slow would probably beat him in a race. The reason why he 'appeared to be fast' is because he technically slowed down everyone else with Black Water; meanwhile, he has an advantage due to his aquatic characteristics and anatomical structure. Keeping up with Possessed Rogue does not mean anything because we have no proof on how long he can stay in that form. Just like how you keep saying that IDeS cannot work on humans like Gajeel. Not to mention, Gray does not need speed to chase Gajeel. He can just stand still and defend himself by having quick reflexes which we've seen from him throughout the manga.

Second of all, Gajeel does not have more Durability than Gray from tanking Torafusa's + Rogue's attacks. Attack is Torafusa's weak point as he only uses physical attacks with minimal amount of damage output from magic attacks. This situation is similar to how Gildarts' physical attacks are strong but the moment he uses magic, someone like Natsu fails to even defend himself against it. As for Possessed Rogue, he really isn't that strong. Natsu could solo Rogue using half his power so Possessed Rogue would only boost him near to Natsu's level if that. That is around the same level as Gajeel and Gray. On the other hand, Gray tanked Silver's Ice Demon's Rage which outclasses Torafusa's DC by quite a margin.

Lastly, both Gray and Gajeel have similar Attack Damage so I don't see your point. ISD Gajeel is definitely similar to IDeS Gray in offense whom both are comparable to LFD Natsu. Plus, when and where did LFD Natsu hit Etherious Torafusa? It has always been Natsu vs. Tempesta and Gajeel vs. Torafusa. One slash from Gajeel to defeat Torafusa does not mean anything because Torafusa was already weakened by other attacks from Gajeel. Had it been a one-shot like what Gray did to Tempesta, I would see you point.

Once again, just because they have full intel, it does not mean that they won't get tricked. Gajeel might have the knowledge that Gray has the power to make clones but to say that he'll evade from them without getting tricked at all would not be true. Even so, Gray would know Gajeel's weaknesses like motion sickness too so it would cancel out.

Possessed/Shadow Rogue is around Laxus level (pre-skip). He dominated Gajeel. Natsu and Gajeel were around the same level in base, so SRogue > Natsu.

Base Gajeel is portrayed to be as strong as Natsu, so his speed should be around Gray's speed. With ISD, he gets faster than base, which would also mean that he's faster than Gray and Natsu. We have actually seen Gajeel use ISDM for a reasonable amount of time against Torafusa and he didn't show evident signs of fatigue then, so he could probably use it for prolonged periods of time. IDS Gray is a completely different case. Also, I never said that IDeS wouldn't work on humans, but yet that it doesn't have feats of working as well on humans as it does on demon.

Torafusa actually has the feat of being physically stronger than Loke in base form and of keeping up with ISD Gajeel as far as physical strength is concerned (has more or less the same attack potency as LFD Natsu), so tanking Torafusa's attacks is indeed a considerable feat. Possessed Rogue isn't strong? He trashed base Gajeel and sucking his powers gave ISD Gajeel (GMG version) a town busting feat with a casual roar. The list of characters who can wreck base Gajeel is very limited, so this puts Possessed Rogue around GMG Laxus' level. Gajeel tanked his attacks, so yeah, this is a considerable durability feat. Also, what's Ice Demon's Rage's attack potency?

ISD Gajeel is comparable to LFD Natsu. I never said LFD Natsu attacked Torafusa, but yet that tanking ISD Gajeel's attacks is equivelant to tanking LFD Natsu's attacks since they have similar attack potency. This just means that Steel Mode Gajeel is stronger than LFD Natsu and ISD Gajeel (who couldn't even scratch Torafusa). Saying that he was weakened is wrong since he didn't have evident injuries nor evidence of fatigue.

So how exactly would Gray use motion sickness to his advantage if Gajeel would also have knowledge of those attacks? It's as simple as this. Full intel means that neither will fall into tricks.

Base Gajeel is portrayed to be as strong as Base Natsu... Same with Gray. As for speed, I acknowledged that he might be faster than Natsu and Gray with his shadow form but quick reflexes can solve that problem. I don't know about you, but it appeared to me that when Gajeel used his shadow form against Possessed Rogue and Torafusa, it wasn't for that long. In fact, it was pretty quick if you ask me.

Base Loke is really weak. Torafusa being stronger than him is not all that impressive. I also wouldn't say Torafusa is around the same level as LFD Natsu in attack potency. That is too far-fetched. Possessed Rogue is only strong in your eyes because he wrecked Base Gajeel who you put as a benchmark. If you really want to compare fairly, you have to compare Possessed Rogue to another character then compare that person to Gajeel. The list of people being able to beat Gajeel is only limited in your eyes so again, that is not a strong argument. In my opinion, Laxus is definitely stronger than Possessed Rogue. Laxus is Wizard Saint Level like Jura, Jellal, etc. Possessed Rogue is pretty much like DF Rogue multiplied by two. Not so great. I can't exactly tell you what Ice Demon's Rage attack potency is because it was only used on Gray as of now but wait till we see Gray use it against a Spriggan if he does, and then I'll tell you all about it. Gray is a noteworthy character too. Downplaying him is like being in denial of Gildarts being able to wreck Elfman.

I'll give it to you that Steel Mode Gajeel may be a little stronger than ISD Gajeel but for different reasons. Torafusa was using his defensive mode so going into steel mode would just amplify his attack penetration and not his attack damage. Plus, that does not affect the situation of this battle as Gajeel does not have the ability to turn to steel.

Intel only goes one way. You're saying that Gray counter's Gajeel motion sickness with Intel but then Gajeel counters Gray's Intel with Intel... It doesn't matter though because this fight does not state Full Intel.

People are seriously saying that Shadow Rogue was Laxus level? Laxus would have one-shotted Gajeel...

Base Natsu, Gajeel, and Gray were pretty much on par with each other for the entire series. Gray's DeS and Gajeel's dual mode probably give them about the same boost in power. Most likely, Gajeel and Gray would have a fairly even fight; neither is winning easily.

Laxus cannot oneshot Gajeel (preskip). He can oneshot Raven Tail tiers, but Gajeel/Natsu tiers? No. SRogue beat Gajeel up a bit and then was going to kill Gajeel, that is a level of performance that is probably Laxus level. I don't think Erza could accomplish that, and Laxus is the next level after that. I think Laxus could beat SRogue but it's high difficulty, mainly because Laxus has durability/endurance levels that are quite high.

Right now Gajeel has no feats. You can't just scale him to base Natsu, and then say that just because base Natsu has better feats than Gray that Gajeel is better. Likewise, base Natsu's feats are just as impressive as DeS Gray's. His normal punches rival Ice Make: Silver in scale, and his roar can oneshot Bluenote who is arguably a Jura tier. You can just scale base Gray to base Natsu, and then say that DeS and ISD must both have the same boost.

Gray's ice-make: Silver is on a different scale than any attack Gajeel has shown thus far. Maybe ISD roar under Shadow Rogue's power rivals it, but that was a temporary power-up. It doesn't apply to the latest version of Gajeel we know, and that's Tartarus. You can argue that steel-Gajeel can break Gray's ice because steel would be harder, but it wouldn't be much help if Gray uses something like a roar.

Laxus >= Jura, who oneshot Orga (~Gajeel level) and pre-SO Erza easily beats Gajeel as well. SRogue has no feats besides his fight with Gajeel, and given that base Natsu beat Sting + Rogue, you are massively overrating SRogue. Even a 4x power boost wouldn't put Rogue close to Laxus level.

Based on portrayal, Gray and Gajeel are pretty much equals. I'd give Gray the edge because he's more versatile and doesn't have motion sickness. All the dragon slayers tend to get overrated here for some reason.

Lol how strong is Orga? I doubt Orga can beat Sting (base). I don't care about how many multipliers SRogue gets, just look at the performance. SRogue basically low-mid diffed Gajeel (Gajeel actually didn't make a hit). Erza at best wins mid diff v Gajeel, Laxus would be low-mid diff at best. That whole point about Natsu > Sting+Rogue has no bearing on SRogue, because Shadow lent Rogue power. How much power we don't know, but it was enough to turn Rogue from someone who was getting stomped by Gajeel, to someone who owned Gajeel.

Portrayal is one thing, feats are different. At Tartarus I felt Gray actually for the first time got feats that put his speed/movement somewhere close to base Gajeel, as well as improved CQC feats and endurance (though I've felt Gray's endurance has always been quite good, not at Natsu level but not far off). Versatility is in Gray's favour, but Gajeel uses the superior magic in the series (Dragon Slayer Magic). I rate versatility as an attribute that is comprehensive (can adapt to more opponents) rather than being more powerful (we got Igneel who basically uses one type of magic but is top 2 in the series for power).

Sting and Rogue were easily the weakest of the Sabertooth 5. Orga was around the same level as Rufus, making him slightly weaker than base Natsu/Gajeel/Gray. Orga doesn't have a lot of feats, but character reactions and DC supports this. Tenrou Erza one-shots Tenrou Gajeel, as shown with Azuma one-shotting Lily (with Wendy buffs), Laxus could too. Do you really think that GMG/Tartaros Gajeel was stronger than Laxus?

Tenrou arc showed that Gray had similar if not better stats than Gajeel, who was struggling against two underlings. "Superior magic" means nothing: god-slayers were supposed to be superior to dragon slayers, look how that turned out. And the likes of Makarov, Gildarts, Jura, and Erza aren't even slayers, yet the only slayer that could possibly beat them in GMG would be Laxus.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Orga and Rufus are stronger than the Twin Dragons.

Gajeel doesn't have better stats than Gray. It's the opposite. Gray has far better stats in a lot of categories over Gajeel.

1. Silvers plan was to let Gray win from the beginning, and he didn't get serious he was worried about his son sacrificing himself to win, don't just read understand please.
2. Silver wasn't serious at all in that fight if he was Gray would have lost easily, Silver could take Natsu no contest and you think Gray could win vs someone like that if he fought seriously?
Again Silver wanted to die and he let his son win to test his resolve if he could move on and leave everything to Gray, he never meant to dodge or win to begin with.
3. You are just using fanboy logic now I wont even debate with you like this
4. Nope Gajell wins since he has better DC, speed and indurance
1. Silver's plan was to have him get over Deliora, not to let him win. He just went easy from the start and then went all out in the end, and when push comes to shove he tried his ass off to dodge Gray's ice clones but couldn't, because Gray's hax and speed movements are far better.

2. Gray would handle Silver better than Natsu ever would given his cold resistant compared to Natsu.
and plus Gray was protrayed and has always protrayed to be equal to Natsu, even in current times.

3. Ironic you're stating this.

4. You say they are equals and now state "Gajell wins". It's Gajeel, not Gajell.
Gray has far better endurance, versatility, mobility, and hax.
Gajeel's offense isn't even that impressive outside of his feats in GMG which were fueled by Shadow Rogue's MP and not his own.
Gray's offense is better at this point currently.

Also I like to point out that Shadow Rogue and Rogue's attacks and DC are featless to begin with. The only reason Gajeel was even blitzing S.Rogue was because of MP gain and eating off S.Rogue's MP which boosted his speed. On his own, ISD Gajeel isn't blitzing S.Rogue
so for Cone to use these arguments are weak and false/invalid.

- Orga's got better attack power, but in endurance/durability he comes up short . Rufus is basically glass in body. Even if they dominate the twins initially the twins can endure it and in the end win.
- Lol where did this query of Gajeel>Laxus come from?
- Gajeel pushed Natsu all the way in a fight, that's how strong he was. He'd mid-high diff Tenrou Gray.
- I was simply saying Gajeel uses the better magic type. Lol God slayers were not supposed to be better the hype in the manga has been much greater for dragon slayer magic if you actually consider all the hype and not select the little bit you want. The strongest dude in this manga is a DS. Dragons are stronger than humans or demons or that god we seen. @bold - lol coz of MP they are stronger. I guess you just read my statement about Gajeel having the superior magic and went to town with exaggerations. I implied that in a bout against Gray and Gajeel, Gajeel's superior magic type is as important as Gray having versatility.

Sting and Rogue had no feats in GMG other than against Natsu and Gajeel, only hype. And the feats they did have weren't particularly impressive. IIRC, somebody in GMG said Rufus and Orga were Sabertooth's strongest pair, so they are stronger than Sting and Rogue.

You were saying that SRogue was Laxus level and ISD Gajeel beat him, so ISD Gajeel > Laxus, yes?

Name a fight in which base Natsu performs much better than Gray. Gajeel barely defeated those two people on TI after eating iron from Levy, and was in no condition to fight afterwards. Given that Gray fought Ultear, in no way does Gajeel mid-high diff Gray.

The point is that different slayer magics don't make a difference, except when one can eat another (like Natsu vs Zancrow). It's all down to how powerful the mage is (for example DeS Gray > DS Wendy). Also, don't forget that Natsu's DS fire couldn't melt Silver's DeS ice. Acnologia's power isn't relevant. In this case Gray and Gajeel use different elements and neither has a slayer bonus, so they are effectively using regular magic against each other.

- Sting/Rogue feats are better than Rufus/Orga in GMG. Minerva's the one that was above. Orga/Rufus have the most flaccid feats in ST.
- Ah ok. Yes GMG ISD Gajeel could beat Laxus if the roar on SRogue is enough to down Laxus. Basically it's on par with Tenrou LFD Natsu. Problem is Laxus endurance is quite superb and GMG ISD Gajeel is a short lasting power.
- Pick any fight with base Natsu...
- Lol eating their own element is not the only good thing about dragon slayer magic. Probably best magic for CQC, has good range/AoE, have increased senses, and can literally transcend power levels with dragon force. Nothing special...

I don't even know why people are applying scaling here.

Scaling only applies to cross verse matchups.

Sigh, suit yourself.

If GMG ISD Gajeel was temporary like LFD then SRogue's PL literally doesn't matter in determining Gajeel's PL.

Such as...

DS, GS, and DeS slayer magics have the same basic techniques with roars, punches, etc. DS magic does not have better CQC and AoE than the other slayer magic types. Increased senses aren't particularly useful in combat, and is counteracted by motion sickness weakness. Gajeel hasn't shown dragon force and demonization is possibly the DeS equivalent of dragon force.
