i did find it quite humorous that tsugumi was in antartica.... shu wins mvp for this chapter though, he came up with the perfect way for raku to decide
Tsugumi really works hard for Chitoge, I can just express my admiration. XD
Yes, it was awesome and while Shu was listing all those things I was just more convinced that Raku would choose Chitoge because it is easy to realize that Raku has much more intimacy with Chitoge than with Onodera to tell such things. Chitoge and Raku feels very comfortable when they are with each other, joking, bickering and such, always enjoying each other's company, they demonstrate this many times during the manga and everything was made clear when Raku realized that he had feelings for Chitoge some chapters ago. The relationship between Raku and Onodera just feels awkward most of the time, Raku treats Onodera as some kind of deity, not someone he likes and I can clearly see he thinking that the things listed by Shu were just small things and it would be worth telling Onodera. I CAN CLEARLY SEE THIS HAPPENING. So..

i see you are a fan of re:zero you should come post in the thread about that anime!! its my favorite anime of the season other than boku no hero

yea i agree about onodera and raku being awkward, its just seems like if they were meant to be together it would have happened already

only in manga are young men and women this shy or reluctant to confess.... i remember asking girls out as early as 7th grade..... let alone high school

I'm here to say just one thing; Raku has probably chosen Chitoge.
I'm saying this because I remember him saying how happy he felt while going around the city with her and having fun.
He was happy with Kosaki too, however he was nervous all the time and didn't get the chance to truly enjoy their "date".
If my guess is correct, I would be really sorry for Kosaki, because I really thought that she was the perfect girl for Raku.
But you know, Chitoge is the main heroine, so yeah...

i like the claude twist, i was not expecting to see him show up

so is it

A: claude doesnt approve of raku because raku isnt 100% dedicated to chitoge?
B: claude doesnt approve of raku because raku seems cowardly or weak to him?
C: claude doesnt approve of raku because claude is in love with chitoge himself?
D: claude doesnt approve of raku because he knows tsugumi is in love with raku?

and how is tsugumi going to stop claude?

First things first, now I think people can stop trying to predict when Nisekoi is gonna end (I think it is more a wish that it ends at once than a prediction, but I will give the right of doubt) and let Komi Naoshi do his job. It is clear that is not gonna end next week. Get it? Let's go the chapter then.

Yui didn't say anything new, we already knew that part of her key was stuck inside the lock and stuff. It was extraordinary how it was fixed quickly. but I think it is what we expect from a ninja. XD Anyway, although nothing new was revealed, it was an interesting conversation and definitely put an end to Yui's circumstances. Even though it was an important chapter for Raku, Chitoge and Yui, I cannot help but mention Ruri's attitude towards Shu, which was small, but very meaningful. We know that in the past Ruri would kick him and do whatever she judged necessary to make him stop, but this time she accepted without problems. We should not forget that we want to see an end about Ruri and Shu as well!
Finally, the most important part, Claude appearing and trying to bar Raku was an interesting twist, I didn't expect that and I think Raku will have to show that he really likes Chitoge to make Claude let him pass. This ended up becoming the most important part of this final arc really, it is now or never, it is now that we will see Raku's answer and resolve. I don't know if Chitoge will appear right in the moment when it happens, it would be interesting. Probably, Onodera will find her and tell her what is happening, and she will run to Raku, with, maybe, some support from Onodera.

D: claude doesnt approve of raku because he knows tsugumi is in love with raku?

and how is tsugumi going to stop claude?
A: Most likely option. Raku really isn't dedicated to Chitoge only and this enrage us more than anything. Claude represents us there. Or Raku finally shows his resolve, or he will not get anything.
B: Also true and very linked with A. Raku took centuries to notice that Chitoge liked him and that he liked her as well and then one more century to make a decision.
C: Nonsense. XD
D: Unlikely, I mean, very very unlikely.

I think she can't stop him and I think that Raku will not want to, he will have a man-to-man conversation with Claude, finally. At least it is what everybody expects.

honestly someone who points a gun at an unarmed man is more of a pussy/coward

claude probably has more than enough combat training to completely whoop raku's ass in a fight instead of shooting him....

i get that the manga is trying to add drama, but whooping a gun out on an unarmed man doesnt make you a tough guy

great chapter, i was happy with the progression i guess we needed a second goodbye for marika.... so she could get her feelings crushed again...

it seems like onodera may find chitoge first, i can see the whole "no matter who he chooses lets remain friends" discussion taking place

The fact that Raku didn't act as a man and face Claude was disappoint, but I think it can't be helped. On the other hand, Tsugumi really had her moment in this chapter putting all her trust in Raku. Tsugumi had an incredible development in all aspects, didn't it? Really, the development of all characters always surprises me. It is not really big cast and everybody had the spotlight many times during the series, changing and developing smoothly and naturally throughout the entire series. Many authors cannot do such a thing, so Komi Naoshi was really skillful in this matter. Obviously, there was one person that didn't develop and change at all. Can you guys guess? One chance! XD
Marika's return was fast, but very significant... I disagree that she suffered again, it was her choice to do this and, as I said before, Raku's happiness is her happiness. Now we know for sure that she is not the promise girl. For a moment I thought that Komi Naoshi would kick the bucket when she put the her key in the lock, but when she told that she hid everything because she was not the promise girl everything made sense. She certainly would tell Raku if she were the promise girl, there would be no reason to hide, on the other hand, the contrary is also true... Anyway, it was a good thing see her return.

it seemed like the translators are getting the chapters done faster now , we got nisekoi 219 on the same day as the other jump titles this time instead of the following weekend

I read from ESJ, so it doesn't matter for me.

You have access to all magazines that were released after with subscribed, whenever you want. Issues before you subscribe you have to pay 99 cents of each. If you have any other question, PM me. This thread is not the right place to talk about it.

Chapter 220

I laughed out loud to this ending. But I cannot say that I didn't like it. It was unexpected, but quite simple. The promise was the result of a children's mistake? XD
We know that Chitoge's main language is not Japanese, it can be a factor, but she might not know what marriage really was back then and I think it is reasonable. That's why everybody have a key, because everybody made a promise with everybody. The details are still hazy and the fact that only one key opens Raku's lock still remains, but it can greatly reduce the importance of the promise. Let's see what Komi Naoshi will bring to us next chapter, probably continuing the flashback.
One thing we know for sure, the picture book was originally Chitoge's. Therefore, if Raku met the promise girl for the first time in that big rock and Chitoge, Raku and Onodera were already friends when Chitoge give the book to Onodera, the meeting with the promise girl occurred before Onodera have the book, therefore...

The situation may seem bad to Chitoge right now, but Raku already made his decision without knowing anything about the outcome of the promise and I think his decision will not change whatever happens. So, we have to see what Raku will do. Raku didn't love Chitoge at that time, but there is no question that he loves now, he not only lived with Chitoge for a couple of weeks like ten years ago, he lived with her for more than 2 years and knows her better than anyone there.
If we put the promise aside, Chitoge would be the chosen one, this manga was about Chitoge and Raku knowing each other and falling in love after all. If Chitoge was really the promise girl, it would be much easier, but Komi Naoshi decided to complicate the matter. XD
Anyway, next chapter we will have CP, there is no indication in the chapter RAW about being the final chapter, but in the issue preview it really says "final climax" so it is possible; a CP for the final chapter. I hope not because it would be rushed and I wanted to see more things after Raku choice, but... Let's see...
In the end there is two choices for the final message of the manga:
1) People change and love change as well through the years (Chitoge side)
2) People and love doesn't change at all and you will love the same person no matter what happens (or doesn't happen). (Onodera side)

I don't like the idea of the second one as you may know for a long time now, so I hope Komi Naoshi do the right decision.

I don't like the message but more than that I don't like anything about the way this has played out. Sure, I'm not a Raku X Onodera shipper and so these developments are going to be unwelcome no matter what for me, especially since I think Onodera just isn't a very good character, but I don't like the setup to this or the way it's written or set up well or anything.

We've all seen this situation being dealt with before right? Making an ending in harem series where one girl gets the guy and doing it well is all about focusing on the positive and minimizing the negatives about whatever route they go down and shepherding fans through it before the more bittersweet implications weigh it down.

Nisekoi has simply dragged this out to long. It's like the 3rd act of a movie that... just... won't... end.

I was liking the development until last chapter, this chapter ruined everything really. Probably you remember that I defended the length of Nisekoi so far because I had the idea that it was to emphasize the development of Chitoge and Raku love towards the end where they end up together. It was going well so far, but now that it seems that Onodera will win the harem everything that I believed became nonsense and futile. Why did Komi Naoshi focus so much in them if he wanted this ending all along?

I wasn't liking the development much even leading up to this. It seemed like the intention was to give each girl an epilogue type arc but I think the net result of that was that each of the girls that was eliminated seemed cooler and Raku seemed less cool for passing over each one. And in a manga like this the one character that's got to be appealing is Raku. No matter what.

It was something I only felt was tolerable because during those arcs it spent some effort making Chitoge X Raku seem like at the very least an reasonably alternative.

Onodere did not get that treatment at all. She's pretty much a Yamoto Nedeshko to the core and maybe in Japan that plays better than it does to me, a western reader who doesn't like that troupe. So to default to her really makes me dislike the last 50 or so Nisekoi chapters pretty intensely.

When I said that I defended the length of Nisekoi it was in a broader way, I defend it since people start to say that many chapters were filler, it was around chapter 50? hahaha
I didn't think they were filler because of what I said in my last post, they were nurturing the relationship between Raku and Chitoge, but now that the series came to this it is hard to defend the massive focus that the series gave to them for nothing.
As for the last 50 chapters where the girls paths were closed one by one, I think it was just to give a proper end to each one of them and I don't think Raku must be cool at all, he is not cool since the beginning and we know that he doesn't deserve any of them, with arcs for them or not. XD
The girls are the great point of a harem manga, the male protagonists must be plain to make the readers sympathize with him.
Well, I will not put the cart before the horse more than I already did and criticize my favorite series to the core, let's see what will happen, there is still hope. XD
