Because they always need something like that, and they reside in a different realm. We have the demon realm after all, Estarossa said it was destroyed during the war, so it could be the same for the Goddess clan. So in order to communicate with the druids who are favored by the Goddesses or humans in general, they could need a way to communicate with them which is what the horn is.
I am still unsure of how this whole "realm" thing works. There is a reference to the sacred tree residing in the fairy realm so I guess we can assume that exists. And we have heard of the demon realm although at this point it seems weird that the commandments do not have a need to go there. As for the goddess realm, I don't recall a reference to it. What we know is that goddesses don't have bodies. And seeing nerobasta (if that is her name) it seems plausible that currently all goddesses are living within objects due to lacking physical bodies themselves.

When did estarosa say the demon realm was destroyed?

Yep the demon realm is in ruins, which means it was likely destroyed, and the other translations also mention that.
Since you mention the fairy realm, then that proves that it's possible to have a place in Britannia which is inaccessible by nature, so why not the Goddess realm? Also the horn could have been around even during the war and before, if so then it always served as a mean to communicate with the Goddess clan.
And those who use it are typically allies of the Goddess clan, whether it's the druids or Liones whose princess is the AoTG.

Ah ok, To be honest I interpreted estarosa's words a tad differently. When he said that I thought it meant it not in a physical sense but rather in terms of their culture and order and whatnot since meliodas leaving has at least all those implications. Odds are he meant in both senses though, the red, grey and blue demons have to be coming from somewhere.

I take no issue with there being a goddess realm but so far it does not seem there is any evidence of it being a thing. It could be, but no mention of that exists yet. Even now goddesses seem to reside within physical objects (the horn, the sword and perhaps more stuff as the manga goes on).

I do doubt the horn always served that function. Even now it serving that function is IMO a misunderstanding. The horn is likely not all that different from the sword densel has in the sense that it contains a goddess. It's not that the horn explicitly allows communication with the goddess clan, rather it's function is to house one or more goddess clan members and humans can talk to the goddess inside it. So people right now see it as a communication device but what they are doing is more similar to talking to someone on the other side of a door. The horn itself likely simply belonged to a guy called cernunos who could have been a number of different creatures. Well, goddess should be the more likely scenario but it's not outright impossible cernunos could have been a demon either.

No I think you're the one misunderstanding the situation, the horn is not like the sword. Ban's comment is just there to inform us that it was indeed a Goddess who was talking to him back then, and that also came in before Death pierce explained that it was indeed a Goddess. It doesn't actually mean that the Goddess is sealed in the horn, nor that she's sealed in the sword either, rather she could have chosen to manifest in the sword until the time came for her to possess Denzel, which from the looks of it isn't now. Basically it's an intermediate state, a temporary vessel for her, since Denzel's sword is blessed by the druids. The druids are the closest to the Goddess and they worship her so they should know a great deal about summoning a Goddess.
It makes little to no sense for the Goddesses to be sealed in objects scattered around Britannia. Who could have enough time and power to do such a thing? See it makes no sense. Cernunnos is the horned god, he is a Pagan God. I already explained in the Goddess thread, that the Goddess clan represent the Pagan gods, while the demons represent Christianity because of the 10 commandments.Pagans are all about revering nature, and the Goddess clan are just that.
So Cernunnos is a Pagan God, just like the Goddesses, so he would actually be on their side, or their ally. Especially now since they're using his horn, and it's unlikely they'd do so if they were enemies at some point.

Of course all this wouldn't matter if it turns out that the demons actually broke from the Goddess clan, and that the demon king was a former Goddess who wanted to be God (hence the 10 commandments) and established the demon clan. Given the ressemblance between the Goddesses and the Gray demons, I think it's more than likely that it is the case. And the Goddess clan seem to be more varied than we have thought

They even have males apparently, or some of them are really flat chested. And the one with the dark wings wears a mask that looks so much like the gray demon's mask.

I wasn't thinking the goddess clan members were sealed inside objects in a manner comparable to the demon clan being sealed. The main issue here is what the cernunos goddess said regarding the goddess clan not having physical bodies. What I think is going on is that the goddess clan members have taken residence within objects while they do not have physical bodies of their own. Take nerobasta, the implication so far is that the goddess was quite literally residing within the sword. Not sealed or anything like that, at least not in a manner comparable in purpose to the demon clan. Even now it's not like nerobasta is free or something, she is merely using denzel's body temporarily and then will resume whatever it is incorporeal beings within random objects do.

So even the power necessary to seal them is a non issue. It would have been the goddess clan itself that did this as a survival measure.

Or they can exist without physical bodies, maybe they're spiritual beings by essence, kinda like angels in Bastard!! I already drew a parallel between both works in the Goddess thread, and seems to me it's redundant to repeat it here, since I already posted my thoughts about it in the appropriate thread.

Either way, there is no proof that the horn and the sword are comparable, just like the one talking through the horn is indeed a Goddess there is no reason to doubt the purpose of the horn itself. As for Nerobasta, she was summoned first to reside in the sword temporarily,so only when time came she would possess a real body, in this case Denzel. There's an emphasis about that, that it's too early for Denzel to use Nerobasta, so it's more handy to summon her into an object first, so only when the time was right Denzel would summon her and make her reside in his body this time.

If they were spiritual beings in essence then them loosing their bodies wouldn't be a thing. It would contradict cernunos' explanation to an extent. While they can exist without bodies, the most likely possibility is that their natural state is having physical bodies. Odds are they even need the objects in question to survive altogether. It's not like goddesses are immortal, we know they are moral because of all the stuff that has been said in the manga.

Well, it is true that there is no proof yet but there is no proof that the horn is all that different either. It is by no means a stretch that the horn and the sword are comparable. It's at least a possibility. And why are you assuming she was summoned to the sword first? I take it you mean that denzel called her our to reside in the sword or something of the sort. There is no evidence to support the idea. I do question the idea that denzel would be able to summon goddesses to his liking and then place them in swords. I think you are looking too deep at deathpierce's comment about it being too early. And in any case, the one to make the call was denzel anyways. I doubt there was some sort of destined time denzel was supposed to use that.

Oh hey, there's going to be a fourth novel for this series and it's titled 七色の追憶, which would translate into "Seven Colors of Reminiscences".
It's by the same author as for Seven Wishes and Seven Traces they left behind (Seven Days is written by a different dude). And it will go on sale October 17th.

Not only is it confirming that, but, it is also telling us that this may be the result of him leaving the fairy king's forest and not necessarily growing up (He does act childish quite a fair bit).
So, his wings growing would be the first sign of him being a "REAL" fairy! Though, elaine's wings didn't sprout either, but, she is 300 years younger than him.
I wonder what makes them so different, when you consider Helebram had his wings 700 years ago...

Wings might not be something you can reach through aging alone. King himself seems to need to force his wings out somehow given his reaction to his back after his scuffle with Mel.

What's this? An interaction between King and Elaine that has nothing to do with Ban (until he crashed it)? Finally my wish has been granted.

That too. I wonder if the forest does have influence on King (and Elaine) "aging", or just simply means that King is still too young.

Gilfrost: “He managed to do a surprise attack on those demons!””
Silver/Zaratras: “It seems this is the end of the festival…
As to be expected from the ‘Pride’, the strongest Holy Knight, Sir Escanor…
He opened up an escape route in an instant. Truly a splendid decision and ability”
Gilthunder: (I heard this man’s voice somewhere before…
His magic power too feels somewhat nostalgic..
Who are you?)
