Indeed. But it's not only Naruto... And here we go with more facts...

These are ALL shonen jump manga (maybe with the exception of D. Gray Man, Kinikkuman, Jojo and others since they moved to another magazine(s) ) that sold MORE than 20 million copies since the 70s:

70~ Kochikame, Kinnikuman,
80~ Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Jojo, Hokuto no Ken, Captain Tsubasa, Rokudenashi Blues, Dragon Quest, Saint Seiya, Sakigake!! Otokojuku, Kimagure Orange Road
90~ City Hunter, Yuyu Hakusho, One Piece, Naruto, Hxh, Slam Dunk, Rurouni Kenshin, Prince of Tennis, Rookies, Yugioh, Shaman King, Hikaru no Go, Jigoku Sensei Nube
2000~ Bleach, Gintama, Death Note, Kuroko no Basket, Reborn, D. Gray Man*, Toriko, Eyeshield 21,
2010~ Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

See my point now?
I see your point, but you are talking about already finished series. You are comparing series that already had their opportunity to show their potential, and series who are still young and are going to run for years to come.
Haikyuu is the oldest of them and is just 4 years old and I think it already surpassed 10 million? I'm not sure.
How many series from those listed reached 20 million in their first 4 years? They reached 20 million in a few years or took decades to achieve it (like Kochikame). There is a lot of parameters to consider... If a series runs forever, it will reach 20 million eventually, but it doesn't mean it was a huge success.

Also, it is another era... Mangas are selling less they once sold... One Piece is selling less, everything is selling less, so it became harder to reach the sales from the past.

Well, the majority indeed ended, but some of them are still here... Like Jojo, Kinnkikuman, D. Gray Man, Hiatus x Hiatus, etc...

And no, One Piece is not selling less, since Oda is taking 1 break for month, the number of volumes released per year is less as well... It still sells around 2.5kk- 2.8kk. But even if it would sell one million less, it's WAY more than any of the new series combined... With the exception of the 3 that I mentioned before...

Again... The ONLY new series that sold a lot since 2010 is AssClass and it is from a veteran mangaka. Not a single huge success from a rookie is just that bad... There's definitely something wrong with Jump right now...

And I could keep going but I think I made my point... You guys will see when veteran mangaka come back... They will sell A LOT more than the rookies are doing right now... If they publish on weekly jump though... Apparently nobody wants that anymore...

How does this "No money = cancelled manga in jump" make sense? Love Rush got cancelled months before it's first volume came out. It didn't even have a chance to make money and was still cancelled.
With less than 30k sales i don't think Hinomaru Zumo makes big money, but it's still running for over 2 years.
It's exactly what I'm saying... a 30k sells series is still better than anything new they are releasing... That's why it's not axed... The only exception to that is Neverland and kudos for that. It's not a minor feat...

The (first) World Trigger poll had 70,000 votes. More than the last of One Piece.
And in the second poll only 14,433 votes were received. This is because the rules change:
  • Only one vote for your favorite per postcard this time (before, it was 3 votes for your top 3 per postcard)
  • The voting ticket has to be bought this time, by buying jump magazine during the announcement or vol 15. This is an unique rule compared to most popularity polls (IIRC Soma's and BnHA's polls that are running today doesn't have this rule). This will prevent incidents like last time when one Kazama's fangirl sent 1000 postcards and one Miwa's fangirl sent 500.
  • The voting was at the end of round 5, so characters that got exposure around then should get a boost.

So if it seems like these votes are low is largely just Shuiesha cracking down on deranged fujoshis and fans stuffing ballets to make things more fair but in the case of Y-san he became a running gag in the manga itself due to his insane devotion to his waifu Marika, Komi would always mention how he would receive so much gifts from him as support in the author's comment sections even ranking 19th in one poll and getting a shout out in the final chapter.

Y-san will always be remembered because of his great achievements. :D
It is fantastic how fans are somewhat an image of the characters they like. Marika is also crazy like this. Imagine a ballot between the Nisekoi characters to see the most popular character, Marika would hack the entire thing and give 50000000 votes for Raku. XD
I also have a tsundere side, so that's why I liked Chitoge and have a tendency to like tsundere characters in general.

By the end of this decade Haikyuu, MHA, and possibly a couple other series we haven't seen yet, or haven't yet received and anime will likely pass the 20 Million mark

The first Shokugeki no Souma vote has 35k votes.
That was the 2nd and it wasn't even suppose to be a popularity poll just an online poll asking which placement of the Elite Ten should the characters place and then it became a popularity poll.

Yes, it is. But even so, One Piece covers and Lead CP are not made to make sense, just the cool clothes and the animals around matters. :derp
