I know I'm still relatively new, but this is something thats bugged me, people have been saying that certain series are getting pushed by Shonen Jump while other are not. The example being Black Clover since I see this series talked about being like that a lot, but wouldn't all of MHA's: advertisements, merchandise, and multiple spin-offs running be considered a type of push by Shonen Jump?
Its called supply versus demand. The reason why MHA gets so much attention is because there's a demand for it hence why Shuiesha is striking while the iron is hot which is different from Black Clover which doesn't have nearly the amount of sales to back up this aggressive campaign to push it. But make no mistake every successful series in Jump has been pushed while it was gaining momentum its just so much that people here (and most of corners of the internet) don't particularly like it hence the constant frustration over its promotion over much better works. Would have been interesting to see people's reaction over Reborn being pushed back where Amano finally found an audience for it by going full battle shounen and creating an assortment of attractive male characters though unlike now Jump had a plethora of successful manga series under its belt so maybe people just didn't give a shit.

Except the one YTV channel is rerunning in the same slot that the second season will be aired in.
Heroaca is currently airing on MANPA, a Monday late night timeslot at 26:29 ( basically Tuesday), that airs in only in Kansai. Th one starting in March is Saturdays at 5:30pm, right before Conan. This one air all over Japan, all 29 NTV networks to be exact.

For a publisher every serialization is an investment, and they are interested in returning it. So of course if the response from the target audience is good, a publisher will keep on promoting the project to that audience. What we do not know is how does the publisher define success and what losses are acceptable.

So at the end of the day this thread amounts to a discussion about comics some of us read. Everything you like gets deserved promotion, everything you don't like gets pushed hard. And depending if the advertising pays off, the label can be readjusted as needed.

It is still YTV that airs MANPA. Thank you for the correction.

Ironic because the characterization is the weakest element in it thus far.
That's subjective, even with mere 25 chapters for me, Neverland's character development is off the roof.

Development? We still don't know much about the cast let alone the setting itself.

We pretty much never gotten anything in the past 25 chapters, no worldbuilding, no setting, no action, NOTHING except this characters and their interactions and their motivation etc, unless you only find stuff like their background or past as a character development, but then that will come since we've barely 25 chapters for now.

There's no way that the dance manga was not canceled. With 6 new series, some need to die to make room for the new ones. Remembering that World Trigger and Hiatus x Hiatus spot won't ever get filled unless they are moved from the magazine which should not happen anytime soon since jump simply cannot lose high selling series at this point.

So pretty much we have:

1 spot opened from RIP Sprite
1 spot opened from the dance manga
1 spot will open from Demon's Plan (it's dead. Period)
1 spot will open from Amalgam's (beyond dead)
1 spot will open from Ole Golazo (rip bamba the man)

And let the bets start. Which series you guys think will end? I thought it would be spring weapon something, but it received a color page some weeks ago, so I'm not sure...

I hope Hinomaru Failure dies (and spring weapon right after)

Samon and Saiki, can die for everything that matter as well.

Who are you and what have you done to the real Sharkbait..?
Nah, it's still Sharkbait we know and love.
He simply misspelled Todoroki wrong. That's all.

We shouldn't pretend to know what's going on and how decisions are made in Jump. There's no reason to believe he didn't end on his own terms if that's the way he makes it seem

He could have it ended anytime... But WOW he CHOSE to end EXACTLY when not 1, not 2 or 3 or 4 or 5... but 6. SIX, new series are starting...

Come on... It's dead canceled. Random positions on toc, no real fandom, no sales whatsoever... Why JUMP would give him the benefit of ending his series at that point when they clearly did not do the same with Toriko, Bleach and many others successfull series that WERE CANCELED.

He could have approached them months ago about ending it and they could have gave him a preferable timeframe it should end. We don't know the business side of things when it come to this.

And I think it's debatable on whether or not Bleahh was cancelled.
Personally I don't see any reason why Jump would necessarily force a cancellation since Bleach was moderately successful still. And I find t very believable Kubo could have just got tired and was washed out and didn't know how to finish it

Still waiting for news about U19, but I don't expect big things from it. Hope that next week's new manga is as good as I'm hoping it is.

I've heard speculation that Kudo wrote himself into a corner similar to Kishimoto on that he made Yhwach to powerful and didn't know how he was going to have him beaten. I personally believe that it was a combination of him ready to end the series, and Jump telling him to move the arc along.
