Is that Twitter guy y'all keep posting like a manga blogger or something? Just someone whose opinion on manga people like to hear? Maybe I'm old, but I've missed the context entirely.
Semi-popular anime/manga vlogger in the anime/manga community. Not huge but popular enough to spread news throughout anime fans(partially due to him being friends with bigger youtubers). He makes a lot of Anti-Jump videos due to them cancelling Bleach, his favorite series. Him and a few other anime/manga youtubers often spread false info regarding the magazines to their fanbases

My point entirely... Anime exist (majority) to promote the media where the series originated.
That is not really true. Like any product, specifically one with many hands on it, it has a ton of stakeholders. Each stakeholder has different interests.

The majority of anime adaptation main stakeholders isn't the source publisher. In fact most of the time in production committee the main one is the disk distributor or merchandise distributor.

About trying to find one reason why anime exists. Remember anime exists for many reasons. Trying to place just one reason, is starting wrong from the start. If you have/want to filter any other reason for existence of an anime then you should focus on its media and what its media directly affects. And that most the times is the TV viewership.

What makes you so sure he knows how it works himself? The TOC, as far as from what I've seen here that most people believe, doesn't always reflect the ranks a series may have gotten, however the TOC is generally viewed as gauge on how well it's doing in terms of marketability for the magazine: Some of the ones with a possible better market value to the magazine will generally be further up front, those with a lesser market value to the magazine will go further back, and titles that are unranked/oneshotes/gags(<- gags seem to be the genre that are probably the most stable in terms of marketing and readers rankings) are used as buffers to space out the series in the magazine.
And that means "based by popularity"!

Do you know what "based" or "indicative" means right? It is not synonymous of "exact".

In the last episode of Koro-sensei Q! they made a teaser of a new series from Yuusei Matsui (also Neuro appeared doing the teaser). Do you think he will return this year?

Exactly. But it doesn't work this way in the manga market.

We have a bigger market, but manga barely sells anything in the US. I do however think it's very good news that MHA is selling so well here

One Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul are bigger than My Hero Academia in the US. The Tokyo Ghoul volume which came out in February was released 14 days after the My Hero Academia one. Also One Punch Man did not even have a new volume released in February yet it's January volume still ranked.

They are bigger than MHA anywhere... Both are "stick to the point manga", not filled with unnecessary bubbles and "hiatus x hiatus" wannabe depth.

But why though? I am curious, how mangaka & magazines think about the west as an audience. Are there comments or interviews how they view the USA & EU as a market or is everything beyond the ocean just extra money not worth thinking about it?
