There's nothing Irene can do in her human form. August would easily be capable of neutralizing and copying all forms of her enchantment, including deus sema. Her only shot is in dragon form through physical means and that's only if August hasn't copied DS magic.

How about August copying Enchantment and cancelling Irene's enchantment? According to Wendy vs Irene it seemed enchantment is easily nullified.
August can easily nullify magic like he did to Gildarts, until he used the prosthesis. If he can undo the magic on any object Irene enchants, I assume he'd be able to do the same to Gildarts prosthesis. But the fact that he couldn't leads me to believe objects are out of his scope, which Gildarts hypothesised in the chapter imo.

That Acnologia comment is absurd. If Gildarts didn't oneshot August, then she needs more power than Gildarts to oneshot him. I don't see why you're inflating this to Acnologia level. I'll take this back if Acnologia finds it necessary to dodge attacks on the level of Cana's cards.
What do you picture happening then, her beating August continuously with her enhanced stick? Thats not happening.

Irene landed a hit on Acno. Should be able to land one solitary hit on August.
...............with magic. Anyone can technically land a hit on anyone with magic, at least the people who have nigh instantaneous attacks. That does not at all translate into her landing a hit in CQC. A solitary hit wouldn't do anything to August anyways.

It mattered to Gildarts that he figured it out. If she figures it out, her chances as a human go up drastically (essentially from zero to x%). August is more comprehensive for sure. Human Irene still put up a brief battle against Acnologia. Well fair enough about Ajeel, and that she might not be able to match Empyrean. But there's no way she gets curbed. The only one here who could curb is Irene is she went into dragon form... since August w/o Copy would get broken as badly as Erza with a palm swipe.
If August fights as he fought Gildarts then sure, she wouldn't get curbed (albeit still loose without dealing any real damage). If he fights using his arsenal then she does get curbed, there is no other way about it. I could come up with a hundred different combos he could screw her over with with just the magic he would have from the 12 alone.

Maybe if August was as weak and durable as a battle worn Erza, sure lol. Otherwise, good luck to Irene on actually tagging him, and if she did, I cannot imagine anything more then a bone or two from where there was direct impact being broken.

He KOd Motherglare.
Scans?

No, Irene in general was said to match August. Not just in human form. Brandish said it based on MP, which doesn't change for Irene in her forms. And she can match him.....if he doesn't have access to DS magic. If the strongest mage has access to DS magic, I don't see anything short of dragon king level dragons being capable of actually defeating him. Characters far below him likely slayed dragons by the daily 400 years ago and Natsu put one down with some help from Atlas Flame.
brandish may know about her dragon form but i doubt it. Irene said it herself that the last they met it was when she was young. I doubt she has seen her dragon form. It was not just based on mp it was also based of skill, because she said that Irene is also the only person capable of defeating him. How would she do that with just MP?

It just your view than if you dont see anyone under dragon king level beating him.

I see no reason as to why she would know much about either of them. Its a statement based on MP and its been said through out time and time again that they seem frighteningly strong because of their MP. She never said Irene is the only one capable of defeating August, she said that Irene is the only one who is not completely out-matched by August, quite a massive difference. And again, its likely a statement based on MP as MP has been the go-to measuring stick in FT since the beginning, just like its likely a measuring stick for hiro himself, so he doesnt have to come up with and take into account the intricate abilities when he is just initially trying to set a bar of hype.

Thats fine.

No debate here August, Irene could even turn into a dragon and the fight would still be onesided.

that was not all do to natsu future was also there and damaging motherglare with his attacks.

cause she spend time with one of them to the point she called him grandpa. She said that excluding Irene there is no person capable of stand up to him. She even mention how BOTH are peerless in skill.

I'm going to change my vote. After the latest chapter, Irene takes this.
  • August < Irene Belserion [Extreme Difficulty]
August really hasn't shown anything impressive. He is somewhat featless. His durability is unknown and one of his attacks was easily tanked by Gildarts. Granted, Gildarts has insane durability but not on the level of Irene. Erza reverting her was very much PoF. Anyways, if Irene was actually bloodlusted and didn't stare at August like she did with Erza, she would win.

Huh? Future Rogue wasn't damaging Motherglare, they were on the same team. And if he had damaged Motherglare, that doesn't exactly make the dragon look any better lol. If all it takes it Future Rogue to damage Motherglare, then a spriggan would utterly slaughter one. Don't even get me started on the strongest mage who has ever lived (Warrods words).

Looks a lot worse when you take in account that Rogue took the brunt of that attack and got up before Motherglare doesnt it :yodawg

That doesnt mean anything though. I've never seen my dad mad, believe it or not. Thats my dad (and im an old fuck). Unless August fought right in front of Brandish she would have had no way of knowing anything, and I find it hard to believe that Alvarez encountered a problem that a regular spriggan couldnt handle and August had to deal with. Both are peerless in MP, Brandish probably assumed. Makarov made the audacious claim that August was in a whole other league from the other spriggan and he had nothing but MP to go off of either. As did Natsu and co. Like I said before, MP is used as a measuring stick for peoples power, its not actually the end all be all of hype.

There was a decent amount of PiS in the Irene fight, though there was at least as much in August fight. The dude didnt use ANYTHING. He could have used Larcade's magic, or Age Seal, for instance, and instantly win, but nah, he toyed around and got actuallly hurt. Just like Irene toyed and stared at Erza stabbing her.
If we exclude PiS, as it was asked several times in this thread, then August definitely has the edge.

But it's not like Wendy was boosting the power of the sword, she just imbued it with DS magic while Erza used it with her own strength.
Imbuing something with magical power would give a power-boost regardless. It probably wasn't anything ground breaking, but it would still be a boost.
Just on August' magic, is it fair to say that he can Instantaneous Copy magic on people, but not objects? Holder magic, and magic tools then? Such is Gildarts prosthesis...

So would a magic tool be much different from this?

In my opinion, Irene made a magic tool via enchantment, albeit briefly. So it's quite possible for Irene to defeat August as a human imo.

However, in a battle, could Irene figure it out? Would she bother affixing magic to a weapon? Or if she used her staff, maybe then she could gather enough info like Gildarts did to form the same hypothesis?

Irene edges on feats. August edges on portrayal. Calling this fairly even.
I think August would be able to copy Irene's enchant magic itself, and be able to dispel Irene's enchantments in the same way Wendy did. He doesn't have to copy the staff itself.
There's nothing Irene can do in her human form. August would easily be capable of neutralizing and copying all forms of her enchantment, including deus sema. Her only shot is in dragon form through physical means and that's only if August hasn't copied DS magic.
I don't think August can dragonize even if he did copy dragon slaying magic, and so Irene would have a definite advantage when it comes to a physical fight. Still the melt nuke was probably August using Natsu's dragon slaying magic, so he can probably knock Irene from her dragon form if he can land an attack. Of course, Irene can probably shatter most of August's bones with a claw swipe, so really it could go either way IMO. The two were hyped to be equals, and so that's basically where I have them.

I think he can copy enchantment (the magic) and use Deus Zero. He wouldn't be able to stop an enchanted weapon though, he can dodge it.

the amount of pis is not even close in their fights.

August Pis:
  • not using any magic
  • having to dodge cana cards
Irene pis:
  • wendy out enchanting her like 3 times
  • erza soloing the meteor with most of her bones broken
  • wendy tagging Irene
  • Wendy performing the same body switch spell out of nowhere when she didn't even know about it
  • Wendy enchanting a weapon with ds magic
  • erza slashing with one hand a dragon in her state
  • Erza somehow tanking every single nuke
  • Shit erza and wendy even proven to be challenge is PIS

Hmmm... That's fair. Although I actually wouldn't give August the benefit of the doubt here. If he hasn't shown to use a certain kind of magic, then I won't assume he has it for the purposes of these battles. Just like how I personally don't give Bradman all of Tartaros' curses even though he claims he has them.

While we're on the topic of August's magic, I'm not exactly sure how it works. Right now, so much speculation is being involved. Like notice how every one of his spells are a little different from the magic he copied. And in almost every match, at one point or another, he would comment on their "interesting" magic, indicating that he's never seen it before. Not to mention, I've seen assumptions about his spell, Melt, being a copy of Natsu's magic but he's never seen Natsu's fire. And there are also other interesting comments regarding why August didn't copy Brandish's magic to heal himself. At the end of the day, we can chalk it up as "PiS". But there could be limitations involved that we don't know of. And that is why I'm really hesitant with these August battles lately. I semi-agree with you for now, but I will definitely wait for more feats. Unless August is already defeated (highly doubt it)... Then he is clearly not the strongest Spriggan in my book and I take back everything I've said.

There is a difference between PIS and asspull. Not a single one of these are examples of PIS.

Imo the only examples of PiS in the EIleen fight are:
- Eileen getting pissed off and going dragon form(couldve easily beat her as a human)
- Eileen just watching Erza jump at Deus Sema instead of just firing off a DS roar at her.
- Eileen just gawking at Erza as she comes down and slashes her.
Though looking back on it thats a fair amount.

Nooo, nooo, nooooooooooooo
God Serena is Laxus/Gildarts tier he destroy Erza
Erza is Jacob/Ajeel tier
Haha, maybe. Mid diffing the GoI is certainly better than losing to Ikaurga, Azuma and Kyoka, but busting a Meteor is a pretty decent feat.

Well, without PiS Irene would've bested Erza and Wendy.

I still think she needs to be held to her fight against Acnologia, where she showed good power.

August does have a lot of tools in the toolbox, more than Irene for sure. It's probably enough to give him a slight edge.

Human or dragon, I think August can't beat her with less than high diff.
But what can we see from her fight against Acno? The only physical aspect of that fight was dodging his nuke, still doesnt give us an example of any particularly good CQC. At best it shows that if August were to attack her she'd be pretty good at dodging. She still hasnt shown anything on the level of overpowering enraged Gildarts in CQC, and August did that without any additional boosts like Racer's or Cobra's magic.
Imo August as is already has a slight edge over human Eileen in a physical confrontation, add in the "tools in his toolbox" and he should have a distinct advantage.
Not to mention the fact that unlike EIleen he doesnt need to engage her physically, he has the luxury of firing off nukes from a distance.

Imo Eileen needs to be in dragon form to stand a chance against August, and even then pulling a win would be difficult considering she fought beside hundreds or possibly thousands of dragon slayer's August could summon as Historia. Not to mention the strong possibility of him knowing DS magic himself.

That's what I mean. August can copy Irene's magic, and then dispel her enchantment. Even if he doesn't dodge, Irene's staff should just hit him with the force of a wooden stick. He's got a staff of his own, so he's not completely defenseless either.

It looks like August was relatively unharmed by Gildart's true heaven attack, so I don't think holder magic is really that huge of a weakness. It's just something he doesn't have a counter against, so he has to use his own durability to tank

I was about to say...Axiomus using his mod powers to like his own post but then realized it was ma boi Atomicus who liked it :yodawg

But yeah seriously August prolly solos all seven dragons he is on a completely different level...IF HE HAS DS MAGIC. Which isn't confirmed but I am 99% sure he does have it because of the nature of his magic.

I'm fine with that, as long as he's constantly on the go ready to use Deus Zero.

Yea I never saw Holder magic as super-effective like slayer magic... it's more like the Ajeel sand body vs Erza's water sword situation.
it's just that August' durability was questionable... given he was dodging mere cards and appeared oneshotted... which might not be the case now.

I'm a little biased.
They are both top tier.I would rank them at the same spot if I had to.I will make a post tomorrow when I have acces to a computer.

EDIT: Can't we just agree they're both equally powerful in their both ways and leave it at that?
Besides,we might lack some information on how their magic works or other info?
