Curious if the Black Clover anime fail to boost the series, then Jump will stop advertising so much Black Clover and move to something else(Neverland?).

they're already pushing Neverland hard

The way they are doing now, its like Black Clover its in the TOP 4 of the most important series today, just behind OP,BNH and Haikyuu.

SnS, Boruto, Gintama, WT, Neverland all sell better than BC

I don't think Black Clover will be what Nanatsu no Taizan turned out to be after the anime, i think will reach Beelzebub level of sales and stop there.

lol, don't overestimate Beelzebub's sales, it was like what? 120k seller? BC already sells better than that


in the latest volumes releases TPN's sales already passed BC, it reached 200k, and it came incredibly close to passing Gintama too (might have passed Gintama after dropping off the top 50 I'm not sure?)

I'm kind of a mindset that it may not be a huge increase right off the bat but it will have at most mid-line increase but could eventually be a pretty decently sized increase in physical sales numbers.

It really depends on the kind of anime it'll get.

Wasn't that the volume that the OVA was bundled with? Makes sense for it to have a boost.
I honestly can't decide whether I think the anime will give it a big boost. On one hand, I believe that a manga that sells that little even with all the promotion it gets was doomed from the beginning. On the other hand, it's a WSJ title being adapted by Perriot. It has a decent chance I think, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't have much of an impact.

Maybe the years made me forget how extraordinary was Nisekoi popularity at the beginning.
Assuming that "We Never Learn" has a linear increase through the days (which is not accurate, but for a demonstration...) we can divide 30080 by 3 and then multiply by 5 which gives us around 50k, it is not even close to Nisekoi volume 2, but we have to consider all the digital edition stuff, so it may be very close, who knows...

Once again, this is not a good sign for a huge Black Clover boost starting in October. While its 3 day first week sales are slowly growing,

For the amount of color pages, and pushing in general its gotten these past 2 years its really surprising to see how people are just not hooking onto it. The least that a series that is expected to become mainstay in Jump, especially a battle manga, is around 100k first week. In comparison, Kimetsu no Yaiba in the same 3 days is only around 8k lower and if its able to stay in the top 30 (due to all the Kodansha series released this week including AoT) , it might potentially reach 100k or close to 100k.

At the very least KnY will reach close to 100k. Volume 6 sold 84k before falling off so this time I predict it'll go around ~95k maybe 100k if we're lucky.

I admitted on the post, didn't you read it entirely?
Sales are curves, it starts with a boost and then the rhythm decreases over time, so "We Never Learn" probably sold around 40k during 5 days.

I should have been more clear. Its unable to break 100k with 3 day first weeks. For a series with this much promotion and considering its genre, a battle manga, in Jump it should easily break 100k in a 3-day first week, especially considering this is volume 12, not 6, 7 or even volume 8. Every other hit manga in the has done this, especially before volume 12.

They will certainly move their attention to The Promised Neverland at some point because it is clearly more popular, they are already doing that. They could be reluctant to go all out with TPN because of its possible short length, I don't think it will be the kind of series that lasts forever, it will be Assassination Classroom level of length.

Black Clover on the other hand is similar to Naruto in some ways, like we are tired of complaining, so they maybe see it as the perfect replacement for Naruto fandom. That's my impression, no idea if it is true.

Well, it is time to admit that Shonen Jump is a magazine for young adults now, not for little kids. They are not even the majority anymore by far. XD

You are viewing everything the wrong way. Assassination Classroom started like a nuclear bomb, it was first or near first multiple times during its first chapters and beyond, it was a phenomenon I've never seen since, I don't know, Death Note? It was already popular when the first volume came out so Jump did the obvious and promoted it. Black Clover on the other hand doesn't have a strong reason to have the level of promotion it has.

This is incredible, a shame that in my country Slam Dunk is not very well known.
People here prefer Kuroko no Basket, Inazuma Eleven or Haikyuu, because they are younger manga, not old ones.
