Curious, has any staff from Jump spoken about their content being leaked online, several days before their magazine goes on sale?

It seems they're not too bothered to take any action, which implies they're okay with what's going on right now?

It is not leaked per se, there are places where the magazine arrives before the day of release so that it is able to be on time, but people take advantage of it to put the scans online early. Many scan providers were arrested not so long ago and Shonen Jump site in Japanese do have a disclaimer about scan sites and piracy. They are probably battling against it behind the scenes, but it is not something publishers comment about because it will just give more attention to pirate means of getting to their works.

didn't shuiesha recently just stop dealing with some sellers which led to Mangastream releasing their stuff on Friday/Saturday instead of Thursday?

not to mention all of the arrests related to Mangapanda's scans in 2015

I "work" with this on a weekly basis for 7 years now and I can assure you, they are NOT ok with it... They just don't comment to avoid making it even more public.

If you remember jump used to "leak" on tuesday, a couple years after on wednesday and now on thursday. They are working their asses to make the releases as "late" as possible in order to make people consume the official version. But there's a limit to how you can do this for logistics purposes obviously. Unless they drop the printed version entirely (just won't happen) the Edited Mangas won't go anywhere. And even if that happens, nothing guarantees that people won't just pirate it sending their friends or posting on torrents or share sites like crazy.

I don't think there will be another rivalry like Oda x Kishimoto anytime soon, or ever at all even.

It is really hard to see other manga becoming as popular as Naruto so nobody will ever be a rival worth of Oda's time anymore. The magazine is young now, many of them grew reading One Piece and they see Oda like a mentor for them than anything else.

Almost everyone who reads One Piece religiously know this.

But I don't know about Oda, he just make those ideas "work" and "fresh" even if it's the same idea he did years ago. His flashbacks are still magical and characters are still unique per say.

Water 7 = Whole Cake Island

and you could argue about Whiskey Peak = Punk Hazard too. Whiskey Peak has Vivi which in turns push for Alabata, and Punk Hazard has Law which in turn push Dressrosa.

I was like @G_I_A for some time and then I got it when I read the other posts. Man, everything in One Piece so different that you even notice that the concept is basically the same, Oda does this beautifully. It is like an iceberg, we are complaining about the tip of the iceberg here when there is an enormous amount of new things to care about under the water.

Literally every arc is about the gang rescuing someone from an oppressive force (even long ring long land). It's the whole theme of the story.

Sharkbait is kinda on point and why I fell off it. I never hated One Piece, I think someday I'll eventually catch up, but it felt like they were doing the same thing over and over again but with new characters. Just got dry and boring. But nobody can knock it's success, just have to respect it.

Regarding Kishi vs. Oda, I think Oda is more consistent than him. But for me? The highest of highs in Naruto (Land of Waves, Chuunin Exams, Sasuke Retrieval, Pain) no question were better than OP's highs (Arlong Park, Alabasta, Skypiea). Never looked more forward to watching a tv show during those days... for that I'l always consider Naruto the superior series, even if sales and popular opinion doesn't.

Part 1 Naruto is just so solid. Like, it had everything you need in a battle shonen series.
And from the Itachi pursuit mission right until the end of the Pain arc I'd say, it's just too good too. The Pain arc in particular would have been one of the best in the medium if the ending was better or if Pain was the final villian.

Its been ranked since last week but it really doesn't matter since it'll be on hiatus again soon enough once Togashi reaches his quota.
