Wow, I knew it had a lot of females but never expected it to be this big.

Is Furudate gender confirmed to be female? (I heard Gotouge was speculated to be female)

I presume this is a good slot then although there is all the polemic around Bleach anime... Black Clover is nearly as popular Bleach was when the anime started, I suppose, so maybe it can reach 300k~400k during the anime and maintain a 300k~ after it.
Well...its currently airing Lego Friends so...yeah.

No one talking about Robo getting another print after its 200k initial print? Screw everything else. That puts it close to BC on its first volume lol.

And yeh, HQ manga is dead in the west. No one cares, though the anime is pretty big. Cant blame people, the manga just isnt very interesting after you've seen what IG does with the anime.

All "We Never Learn" volumes getting reprints? The beginning of despair... :3c
You got "beginning" wrong there, should I call Yuiga to give you some lessons? :derp

I'm about to buy my volumes, so it is good that I will not have any problems buying them because of stock.
Yeah and also Dr. Stone, right? Right? and come on, 1-2 volume reprint against 12? But yeah, I obviously knew that's because of the anime. I just wanna mess with you :D

What was Black Clover anime studio and timeslot again? I want to see whether the affirmations here have any sense or not.
Pierrot. Bleach timeslot.

Don't you ever forget the "bouts" arc.

Haikyuu is popular in the west? That's news to me. There are hardly any threads on 4chan even when an anime is airing. Also, it took forever for there to be an English volume release.
The anime is sure popular because it's a masterpiece. The manga however is not. Probably because of the art.

I actually heard otherwise. This timeslot is apparently bad but I'll wait for someone that's knowledgeable with timeslots to correct me.

400k is a stretch but I see 300k's, especially if the timeslot is one that's not so great.
Isn't the same slot that Naruto/Boruto used to be broadcasted? Only on a different day?

No one talking about Robo getting another print after its 200k initial print? Screw everything else. That puts it close to BC on its first volume lol.

You wanna talk about venerate veterans? Because that's the only reason for:

1 - RxL is selling that much. Tadatoshi's Fujo power is unstopabble but you already knew that. The manga is not bad though, it's just not on Kuroko level
2 - Hungry Marie is STILL not canceled. Everybody here would agree that if it was a newcomer it would be canceled ages ago. (Like Poro and U19 were)
3 - Dr. stone two second in a row first position in toc (could be 3!)

Now you understand why I keep venerating veterans? Newcomers that are not on Neverland level won't ever, EVER get that treatment.

Haikyuu!! JP Audience Age to Gender Ratio
Left is female, right is male.
It is not a surprise, since volume 2 Haikyuu has such popularity with female readers.

I think they can be changing the strategy, pilling up chapters to release the volumes when Togashi goes on hiatus again to have something to release in the drought period.

I was thinking...

there are like 30 chapters not animated, if Togashi somehow managed to wrap up the current arc soon (toppest of keks i know, just stay with me) what stopping Madhouse from producing a short 12/13 episodes sequel?

that's a ginormous "if" but hey, a man can dream right?

anyway, nobody scanlated his angels and demons card game manga yet right?

the main character name is motherfucking Roto

for those who don't know Roto is the name of the legendary hero in the Dragon Quest franchise, I'm 90% sure he's trolling his fans

You're right, it's normal. Even so... Let's do a betting game? (mod/admin, can we make this a poll?)

How much Black Clover will sell during/after the anime broadcasting?

1- "Omae wa mou Shindeiru" - The same
2 - "Venerate Veterans" - around 300k (X)
3 - "Despair Thread"- around 500k
4 - "Soul Collector" - more than MHA
5 - "All Hell Breaks Loose" - more than HQ
6 - A Black Piece of Heaven - self-explanatory
2 - "Venerate Veterans" - around 300k (X)

Just like World Trigger

Kurobas was really popular, and the characters look so much like his last manga, i can see why its selling well.

I've never actually read Kuroko no Basket, but by what I saw it was really went overboard in superpower-ish movements that doesn't exist in real life basketball. I'm not profoundly knowledgeable about golf, but I think it going way better in this regard since it to me it doesn't look as unnatural as Kuroko no Basket was. That's the reason I'm enjoying RxL so far. Am I right or I'm not seeing some excessive moves due to lack of knowledge?

Well I'm not sure if the comparsion with World Trigger is that good. If Black Clover anime is "endless" (like Bleach/Naruto was and Boruto is now) maybe.

But if it's 12/24 anime should be a completely different scenario. I hardly think this is the case since Pierrot is famous for long running the series.

I've never actually read Kuroko no Basket, but by what I saw it was really went overboard in superpower-ish movements that doesn't exist in real life basketball. I'm not profoundly knowledgeable about gold, but I think it going way better in this regard since it to me it doesn't look as unnatural as Kuroko no Basket was. That's the reason I'm enjoying RxL so far. Am I right or I'm not seeing some excessive moves due to lack of knowledge?
Well that aren't any movements in the series that "doesn't exist in real life". They do, it's just overexaggerated to the infinite. I never thought the manga was good, it's exactly like haikyuu, it has masterpieced anime.

Production Ig should just do a Zumou anime already. WTF is shueisha doing?

Mirage Shot used by Himuro(Yosen) is illegal in real life basketball because your not allowed to pass to yourself.

Yeah, it was pretty over-the-top with ridiculous superpower-ish abilities and it's not even close to being realistic.....until Steph Curry came along. And it took 8 years since it's debut for Steph to finally "bloom". Hell, I'm pretty much expecting someone with "Emperor's eye" or something similar to appear in the NBA now.

He uses the correct terminology (yes "The Zone" is an actual thing in basketball) and his knowledge on the game is decent but the feats the characters pull off are absurd given that Japanese highschool students can do shit that not even professionals can do with years of experience and while SLAM DUNK (a much better manga) did the same thing it doesn't get nearly as over the top as Kuroko, the "supers" are just there to make matches more interesting much like the bullshit you see in Prince of Tennis mainly because they know their audiences don't care about how accurate it is as long as they can see their husbandos look cool. RxL has been surprisingly lowkey thus far which is why I'm enjoying it and even if some of the super powered bullshit starts to leak in he'll have to do a lot to top a lot of the equally absurd golf manga already published.

The Kuroko anime isn't good and looks considerably worse than Haikyuu. Honestly Haikyuu is good if you can look past the rough art of the manga and yeah the anime just does a better job of presenting an already good source of material.

I tried to refute this, but I don't know how, Curry even gave NBA 2K development team a hard time to have his 3 pointers from way downtown in the game. :derp

I agree, but Fujimaki had this intention? I don't think Jump authors have the intention to make their mangas appealing to fujoishi, it just happens. Kuroko no Basket was not that famous before the anime when it really caught fujoishi's attention. I think he just wanted to make the series Jump-ish.

Achievement unlocked: Talk about NBA on Jump thread. :derp

Agreed, Haikyuu is worlds better. I merely instated that both animes are good because they were made by the same studio.

Not really. There seems to be a "reason" that tadatoshi makes his characters appealing to girls and specially gay people (I'm sorry if I'm being offensive here, I really don't know the right expression to use in english). There was a whole hupla about the terrorist attacks when lots of Kuroko events were target with toxic substances back in 2012. The dude responsible said (and I don't know if its true since he said otherwise after arrest, despite saying that he would do EXACTLY that if Fujimaki apologizes) for some shit that Tadatoshi did in the past, he "lost contact with friends". There's also some sort of homossexual relationship mentioned that (again, I'm not sure) had some kind of influence on Kuroko.

It's too dark, confuse and you should take it with A HUGE grain of salt. But you can read it here

Edit: Rereading it now makes even more interesting (despite being absolutely disturbing) The terrorist mentioned in 2012 (!) that Tadatoshi said that used to GOLF with his father. How about that?

Black Clover's current timeslot is best suited for long running series, though a lot of recent series haven't been much longer than 2 cours. Its aired a lot of western series recently as its been airing the Lego series since April and it aired Avengers Assemble before that. Bleach was only in this timeslot from its start in Fall 2004 to the end of Summer 2005 and Pokemon was only in this slot for half a year back in 1997. The times are entirely different though so you can't use their numbers as a gauge for BC's success. In recent years, I've only been able to find Majin Bone's, which aired till the end of Winter 2015, ratings and it was on average anywhere from 1% to 2%. Series after that have almost no information available besides a few numbers tossed around and most of those are in the 2 percent range. Its still entirely possible that BC is able to get high ratings but the last time that was seen was with Youkai Watch, which airs in the same time but on Fridays. The show before Youkai Watch didn't get anywhere near the same ratings as it did soon after it started, averaging at least 4% in 2014 and going even higher.

In terms of boost however, it can still happen as Haikyuu didn't get high ratings but still got a massive boost. But, it will need close to a miracle to get anywhere near 500k from its current 150k-200k. Magi is the only series in recent memory that has gotten such a boost and it was on a much more mainstream timeslot.

I was thinking...

I'm pretty sure there's too much material in those 30 chapters themselves to cram into a 1 cour season and feel its been properly adapted. Hisoka vs Chrollo itself is 7 chapters long.

Well, there was that time that Aomine legitimately ignored physics and changed his trajectory mid jump.

Yup. Kuroko had a lot of still frames even in the third season. There were only a few notable scenes, but Haikyuu had many. I guess it has to do with how dynamic basketball is compared to volleyball, or Haikyuu looks better because they gave it a generous budget due to the success of Kuroko. Who knows.
He uses the correct terminology (yes "The Zone" is an actual thing in basketball)
Yeah, the zone is actually a thing, although it's more commonly known as "flow" and is present in many things, not just sports.
I merely instated that both animes are good because they were made by the same studio.
Lol what? That's not how it works.

You shouldn't underestimate volleyball because it is pretty dynamic, principally in high level matches against national teams in the World League or Grand Prix. Basketball and Volleyball are my favorite sports and I consider almost equally exciting, unless when we are in the middle of NBA Playoffs, then basketball is the best sport ever created.
