That was due to fans request. When Hiro asked what gender to make Natsu and Lucy daughter they said girl so that's what he drew. Same with Gruvia son. Not official just fan's request who wanted to know what their offspring would look like if they had one, and he obviously wouldn't deny the fans request. If people were requesting, a Natsu x anyone else then there is no doubt he would have drew that for the fans

Uh no they’re not canon. Only gajeel and levy, gray juvia are, like how the manga ended. It’s just a fan request like our God Hiro usually does for the fandom. Until we get something in manga format the kids are simply just fan drawings so I agree with invel zeref. We shouldn’t confuse hiro’s doodles and twitter art for canon, kinda silly to do so. I hope we don’t get a next gen but the kids designs are cool looking.

The beauty of the ending is fans can decide if they are or aren’t. Down the road yeah they will be but who knows if we’ll ever officially see it. Actually, it was a very small signing of less than 50 people. All four of the signing opportunities were for between 45-50 people which we were all quite aware of who was requesting things.
There was only the Gruvia kid. He drew the Nalu kid a second time on Saturday.
We had to make our requests ahead of time and all "special requests" had to be approved due to time constraints and Mashima's willingness.
Y'all realize if Mashima did not want to draw the offspring he wouldn't have right? Can't see him drawing something that doesn't match his story or giving his readers fake children/false hope. No way in hell would he draw a crack ship child.

The concept of Lucy and Natsu having a daughter is not even a new thing. Back when Mashima released Virgo's eclipse form on twitter everyone speculated she was Nashi as she had a whip like Lucy's and wild untamed pink hair like Natsu. The comments sparked a meltdown as Nali (and some Naza and Graylu fans) who started antagonizing Nalu fans for their overactive imagination.
The "Nashi" interview has sparked numerous debates and comments over the years.
Here again we have debates spiraling out of control and negative comments and hate thrown in tumblr and twitter at the Gruvia and Nalu children images.
So boring.
At least let's debate something interesting. Like.... will the anime add Nali scenes to combat all the Nalu in Avatar, Alvarez and the recent Dragon Cry? We were pretty much getting Nalu ever couple of chapters.
The last good scene Nali had was the last chapter of Edolas but the at least the anime added some Nali to Gmg. And Mashima threw a fanservice bone in the manga to Naza and Nali fans in Tartaros with the Erza/Natsu scrubbing bath scene in Sun Village arc and the Lisanna/Natsu scene in Tartaros.
On that note: the anime staff also added a lot of Nalu with KOTSS and Eclipse arc. And it added Gruvia unison raid to Daphne arc. So will they add more? I hope so. Especially expanding some of the Nalu scenes like when Lucy covered Natsu's eyes cuz she was jealous he was looking at naked Mavis. And some of those Avatar scenes like Natsu rubbing Lucy's head telling her to trust him. Or Natsu humping Lucy's leg with Happy's tail before she punched him for being pervertrd. Still hoping for a confession or a reflection from Lucy at Natsu's bed side..... in the grand magic games the Nalu hospital scene was expanded in the anime. Or when Lucy fights Brandish over Natsu's body. Make it like when Hinata confessed fighting Pain. Also how much will they censor the Lucy giving Natsu warmth chapters? Or the END holding Lucy's "dead" body in dimaria's time? Or if the Stone Age omake gets an OVA.....?

The real question is how much censoring will Yukino and Larcade's fight will happen? I think the anime will add a couple added Nalu and Gruvia moments. Maybe they will add a cliché grown up with kids at the very end. Even Trollima doesn't know how it will end until it does.
Yea but.... after Natsu says "I don't care about any of that stuff" Natsu also said "cause we'll always be together, right?"
this pretty much implies that Natsu is trying to say that he doesn't need to say i love you because they already know they love each other and Natsu and Lucy will always be together on adventures
