I just don't buy it man, chapter 143 ranked 3rd in issue #39 and chapter 144 ranked 12th that is a drop from 9 places in a flashback chapter for a popular character. That just seems really weird. Soma's drop was very gradual as was Bleach they didn't just up and one day drop 9 spots after it chapter it was a series of chapters that gave them their current positions and unlike Heroaca didn't really recover. I mean I don't think that chapter of Souma was bad enough that it deserves bottom three this week but it really is hard to gauge what exactly people like with these things. My biggest fear is that because of this Hori is just going to double down on the Todoroki and Bakugou focus leaving the cast in the dust since their chapters always do well.

A popular character isn't enough to make chapters rank high especially when the chapter breaks the flow of the excitement. You're forced to wait another we not see the final blow. That can annoy even the most hardcore fans. Also the anime was ongoing so it's entirely possible that they were putting it slightly higher however this break might have gotten such negative results that they couldn't tweak the order. Last year, while the anime was airing, it was consistent because of both the anime and also the plot. It was constant excitement with no breaks in between to break the flow. This year, this new style is really affecting enjoyment. I don't think he'll ramp up todoroki and bakugou developments though those are popular characters even with the kids.

Togashi's recommendation with volume 4 helped too but the sales boost/growth is well deserved.

I don't think he'll ramp up todoroki and bakugou developments though those are popular characters even with the kids.

That's another thing Horikoshi wrote himself in a corner with. Both of them failed to get their provisional hero licenses and now they have to get sidelined for 5 to 6 months in the story, until they get another chance at the exam in march. Without a license they can't take part in internships and aren't allowed to use their quirks in dangerous situations.
Without a timeskip the only place these two can use their quirks is at the school and after everything that happened in the current Yakuza arc another school training arc won't cut it in terms of fights. But he also can't just timeskip 5 to 6 months straight to the end of the first year. It's been over 150 chapters and the school year itself is barely 5 to 6 months old.

We know The first four (or 3) of yuuna eventually reached 150,000+

They stopped putting print number for yuuna but it is still higher than KnY for now.

I hope it’ll reach tlr darkness status of 300,000+/volume after the anime begin airing
