Purple truth seems to be what is written in purple.

The Death Note is apparently in the hands of a Townie. Makes sense because it would be unbalanced to give it to Mafia, since the Townie doesn't know the Mafia they also have a chance to get it. There is a way to find the DN owner more easily and we'll learn more about it later.

Any character can use Purple Declarations, which possess the same standing as the Red Truth; however, only the culprit can lie while using the Purple Declaration.

Rules

• The definition of 'culprit' is 'one who murders'.
• It is possible for a culprit to lie.
• It is possible for a culprit to lie even before committing murder.
• Characters who are not culprits only speak the truth.
• Characters who are not culprits may not cooperate with a culprit.
• A culprit must carry out all murders directly, by their own hands.

• A culprit must be among the characters appearing in the story.
• Purple statements are as absolute as red truths. However, the culprit alone may lie with purple statements.

Those three lines have been written in purple so I think they explain the DN mechanics.

Im back in exactly 10 hours, Im so responsible.

The new first post implies there's more than one note? Those are a lot of kills, not good for townies at all.
Now the only thing left is a serial killer for a bloodbath, though I dont think Panda-Lawl-Magi would implement that role with this setting, the game would end too fast.

If I understood that Note mechanic correctly, mafia members can pass it among all their own members before having to choose someone else. That, aside from being potentially broken as heck, makes me think it's even less likely than usual for a game of this size to have only one big mafia.

Even if there's 2 mafias with less members, they can keep the note for almost the entire game. The only restriction is getting it 3 times and not being able to give it to the same person twice. Just passing it from mafia 1 to mafia 2 and to 3 is the note being with them for 3 nights. Then mafia 3 can send it back to mafia 2 and he sends it to mafia 1, so that's 5 nights. Now mafia 1 can send it to mafia 3, who then sends it to mafia 1. So with 3 mafias they can keep the note for 7 nights, much longer than these games usually end on. And if they have more than 3 members it gets even more ridiculous.
Provided they don't get killed/lynched of course, but even counting the death possibility a mafia can still keep a Note for a long time. So I'm really hoping it starts on a townie or we may not have any use out of this whole system.

Also the rules only said what happens to the Note if the holder is killed in night or lynched at day, but not what happens if the person is outright daykilled. So either they forgot, or it's like a lynch and the Note disappears, or we have no daykilling roles like assassin/vigilante in this game?

Like Demon said, the post implies that a "good guy" got the note (it's written in purple truth for what it's worth).

If Mafia do get hold of the Night, we'd better just hope someone pulls a Daws.

I read it the other way around. In the opening post she gave away a note, then in the update she’s found and given away another.. or that’s how I understood it. Also “ I wonder why these Notes are just lying around” implies there are more than one, I thought.

Huh. You see when I wrote that yesterday there was no extra text in the update post. They must've felt the need to include that since the OP was lacking stuff? Not sure what exactly to decipher from it, but it could very well mean there's more than just 1 Note after all?

As for the blind luck part you mentioned, right below that they conclude it with "For clarity sake, let's keep track of our investigation somewhere!". I think this post has hints scattered around. I take it this means any investigative role can find out if the target has a Note, and that we have several investigative roles in the game?

There's not much to go on and I've been busy today. I won't be up in time for the day to end so I'll votekill Erinyes for now. The likelihood in any scenario this game is that there are a lot of townie killing roles, or a second mafia. If that is the case, she would be a valuable asset for them.
