In the midst of the Jump Festa coverage, I present you with Weekly Young Jump's 2017 average TOC placement including and excluding color pages. The couple irregular series were factored in since they are technically full series and have no definitive end dates, but they played a very minor role overall. The only series to have perfect attendance (appeared in all 49 issues) was
Tokyo Ghoul:re. A lot of the series seem to rotate around pretty often, with the next highest appearance ratings going to
Rikudou and
Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen with 46 chapters this year.
Cancellations were pretty evenly distributed between middle-to-older series and newbies that couldn't cut it. There were also 2 questionable "end of part 1s" that were dished out this year, leaving fans of
Gunjou Senki and
Kunoichi no Ichi wondering if they'll actually ever get to see a second part. Of last year's new series, Diner seems to be faring the best, with Helvetica and Rin to Cheer getting pretty decent editorial pushes despite not selling to well. But it's still early, and WYJ is already shaking things up for 2018, so only time will tell how things will play out.
