Golden Kamui looks dope.

re: remains a worry. I don’t see how they could do worse than the first two seasons, but Pierrot always try to outdo your expectations so...

I laughed for a second, this is Pierrot and Tokyo Ghoul's anime we're talking about. I only watched season 1 of the anime and when it was airing and I thought it had a lot of issues, I only checked out the first part of the Tokyo Ghoul manga a few months ago and it was pretty enjoyable. Bad anime adaptation, but damn did it boost the manga's popularity somehow.

My predictions for Jump Festa, feel free to share yours as well.

Maybe an Umaru OVA. More details on Hoshin Engi's episode count hopefully. Possibly more details on Golden Kamuy's anime, hopefully something like how many episodes it will have. And the one I thing really expect to happen is a Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai anime announcement, hopefully we'll get some staff info and even an airdate.

Edit: Oh yeah, maybe a new Jojo anime? The recent Captain Tsubasa remake from David Productions seems problematic. They could still announce an anime for late 2018 though. But I'm fairly pessimistic now.

The Golden Kamuy place is amazing.

In the midst of the Jump Festa coverage, I present you with Weekly Young Jump's 2017 average TOC placement including and excluding color pages. The couple irregular series were factored in since they are technically full series and have no definitive end dates, but they played a very minor role overall. The only series to have perfect attendance (appeared in all 49 issues) was Tokyo Ghoul:re. A lot of the series seem to rotate around pretty often, with the next highest appearance ratings going to Rikudou and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen with 46 chapters this year.

Cancellations were pretty evenly distributed between middle-to-older series and newbies that couldn't cut it. There were also 2 questionable "end of part 1s" that were dished out this year, leaving fans of Gunjou Senki and Kunoichi no Ichi wondering if they'll actually ever get to see a second part. Of last year's new series, Diner seems to be faring the best, with Helvetica and Rin to Cheer getting pretty decent editorial pushes despite not selling to well. But it's still early, and WYJ is already shaking things up for 2018, so only time will tell how things will play out.

Lol, I guess YJ were angry because the anime didn't boost the sales like at all and because the series never took off.

Seeing two of my favorite manga in the top 2 is great and seeing Kaguya in the top 5 is great as well.

Anyone got the ToC? I'm surprised Tokyo Ghoul:re hasn't had any color pages for the entirety of Volume 14's round of chapters, so I was thinking it might be next issue, but it doesn't seem like it. So I'm a bit shocked.

Blue Phobia has what it takes to become a hit. It's gripping, has more refined art than Ashida, why still maintaining the metaphorical skill of an experienced novelist.

Since I started doing it for the other magazines, the 2017 series in Weekly Young Jump with the most color pages were Minamoto-kun Monogatari and Rikudou with 10 color pages each. It is also interesting to note that Uratarou and Full Drum both received 9 color pages each, but failed to catch in after the attempted push.

I can see the resemblance Holy Crap I feel like this will be a discount TG
Two of her favorite manga are Tokyo Ghoul:re and Level E. She also follows a bunch of TG cosplay and fanart accounts on Twitter, so it's quite clear that she's a big fan. However, this first chapter felt way less similar to TG than its oneshot imo. The story don't seem anything like TG yet either, but wouldn't surprise me if it did turn out a lot like it.
The Japanese YJ readers have also said it reminds them of TG a lot too, so she's definitely well aware that it does, considering she reads most of the tweets sent to her by the looks of it. So unless she's very obsessed with trying to make something like TG, then I'd assume she'd try to avoid to rip it off.

I wish Kingdom got a proper anime remake... Maybe in like 10-20 years it'll happen... xD

:(

It's of my all time favorite manga series, good to see its getting some kind of extra promotion. I hate live action stuff, so I won't watch this.

They made a short live-action last year to celebrate Kingdom's 10th anniversary, and Kento Yamazaki was the one who did Shin's role back then.
