Honoo no Toukyuuji: Dodge Danpei ran in CoroCoro but it it's manly as f***

where else will you see a guy throwing a ball so fast it catches fire?
where else will you see a guy throwing a ball so hard it carves mountains?
I've never actually read it but I'm like 99% sure those have both happened in Prince of Tennis at some point.

Do you think if Black Clover started 1999 and Naruto in 2015, the same premise, same anime, everything the exact same way it has been presented so far, would Naruto receive the same criticism from western fans?
Good question. This reminds me of a piece of criticism given towards Darling in the Franxx in which someone pointed out that the show would be much more interesting had it came out 25 years ago or if Eva didnt exist. Black Clover would have not survived even if Naruto didn't exist.

A proxy battle manga and a world discover adventure manga, like Dai no Daibouken.
>2018
>still no pokemon clone in WSJ
Sad!

An adventure manga like Made in Abyss
Isn't MiA very similar to Hunter x Hunter?

A Roller Derby manga by KAITO would be awesome!
well, this is interesting, could be a unique way on cashing in the skiing/skating craze that's going on

Black Clover does not sell 350k copies per volume. It sells at most 300k between one volume and another, at best. I know you like Black Clover very much, but you exaggerate a lot. I recommend stopping a little with this.
he's counting the imaginary digital sales figures

Fencing/cricket manga
RIP Ginpaku no Paladin

I've never actually read it but I'm like 99% sure those have both happened in Prince of Tennis at some point.
it happened in Captain Tsubasa too

A yankee/delinquent manga with realistic fights
so Crows?

(masanori morita and obata with HELLO baby one shot :gwah)
I thought that was a finished story, also that was more like gangs/yakuza than deliquent

It's literally just fight after fight after fight. Never any time to breath or set up interesting stuff because of the pacing. Barely any substance, interesting plot points, characters or development. Its like Tabata realized he cant tell a coherent story..
We see that we have read two different manga, obviously.

If you really did so disgust as you say they would have canceled it right away ....

Pointless question.

It would be like asking how it would have been One piece if Dragon Ball had never existed -...

What stood out about Black Clover at the time?
Nobody.

He simply convinced the readers and editors and he could build a fanbase.

I want a meta-isekai like the one starring Yamcha, in which a Jump fan gets the power to go into all the manga from the magazine and change scenes and arcs.

Has there ever been a sports series that didn’t take place in real life.

I feel like sports in fantasy worlds would be be good idea. Say a soccer manga that takes place in a world similar to Dragon Ball or One Piece.

I’m surprised you don’t see mangaka attempt stuff like that more often

There's a series that just ended in Comic Gene about yokai basketball called Ayakashi Parade Game, not sure if it actually took place in another world or not.
This thread's favorite sport has a fantasy world series, too.

I was going to translate this for the memes but even I have some standards

Those have been relegated to the kids section over the years.

I think it would be one of those things where you have to figure out what is the point of Baseball Isekai, etc. I dont know if there is an appeal for integration of special attacks and what nots in soccer, baseball, etc. The time we have those the series typically doesnt appeal to fans of the sport due to the blatant disregard of rules or just some pretty odd and difficult to believe moments. I dont think people look to Prince of Tennis for say quality tennis action but rather just for the sheer absurdity of it or the hot guys. I did like the more grounded ovas that were being made at some point though, or Kurobas the more hype moments were seeing Aomine's mad skills and not Akaashi's supremacy.

HxH Dodgeball was a good effort at it, though I feel most of its enjoyment was due to my dream team working together, and not say, because of the Dodgeball aspect (the antagonists was just one dude and clones so it was pretty uninteresting, while team KilGonSoka were overpowered compared to their peers).

I thought One Piece had some sports thing in one arc (boxing foxy pirates?) but again carried by the characters and not the dumb activity but it is also an arc that is looked down upon.

Near/Post apocalyptic Mecha baseball was actually amazing in Iron Leaguer.

I unabashedly love Inazuma Eleven
I wish America would get inazuma eleven. Americans are living in an unfair world.
