Crunchyroll is saying My Hero and Black Clover replaced Naruto and Bleach as the new Big 3. I looked at the comments under the article and, as expected, it was a roast session. My thoughts are how about we stop trying to make a Big 3, it's dead and over. I stopped getting Naruto vibes in My Hero after sports festival was over, it reminded me ALOT of Naruto when I started it tho. BC reminds me nothing of Bleach and more Naruto and FT, but from the 20+ episodes I've watched it was doing alot stuff familiar with me but the way it was being done I wasn't fond of. Let's stop with Big 3 comparisons when it comes what it did for anime in general. Comparing elements of the story or characters is cool, we live off comparisons after all.
I don’t like the “New Big 3” thing at all. It feels forced to me.

But when ppl DO use it I hate when they include One Piece as part of the “New Bug 3”. When I hear “New” I think of it as being about the next generation. The new kids on the block. Even though One Piece is still running, it’s part of the previous generation

My Hero safe, Black Clover ..... I would say no. But really never.

With the same sales, I would say that the new Big 3 is One Piece, Haykyuu and My Hero.

Black Clover at best is a manga that sells well as Hitman Reborn could have been some time ago.

Of long running shows BLack Clover has consistently been in the top 5 on crunchyroll popular listings though.

^yeah that's true. Crunchy is really wanting this to be their next big thing, how much of it is working is another question. Regarding Ice King what savethecat said is what I'm getting at... I'm not saying My Hero doesn't have credience to be there, I'm more saying let's stop trying to bring back the Big 3 era when 2/3 of it is over. I don't think either My Hero or BC should even be considered. It's fun to think about but in truth it's doing a disservice to Naruto and Bleach and what they accomplished, their legacy, their impact. Big 3 goes beyond sales, yall know that very well.

Oddly enough, I think My Hero's best "rival" or comparison is NNT in Magazine. I have to admit they seem to have alot closer comparisons than any of the Big 3, both closing in on averaging a mil a volume, both getting movies this year, both bumping heads on yearly sales. I think Black Clover can compare to Fire Force or something of the like, although BC is much more successful than Fire Force at this stage.

This "Big 3" was quite stupid to begin with. And it's totally western thing. I see people talk about sales, but it's not only about sales. HxH was selling better than some of the "Big 3", yet it wasn't part of it (and HxH wasn't the only one selling more than Bleach). It's more like: "the most popular and talked regular action/battle manga from Jump". And it that aspect, the new "Big 3" is indeed OP, MHA & BC.

"Let's stop with Big 3 comparisons" then you shouldn't have brought it up :) Otherwise I don't think the comparisons will stop (like sales talk don't), no matter how useless or pointless is, as long as fans can scratch their itch for "my fav manga is big, let me tell you why".

It does not mean anything. Crunchyroll is not Jump.

Haikyuu sells much more than both My Hero and Bc.

Nah bro, it's not. It was, but when japs began to recognize what it was it became a cultural thing. Twin Star author even mentioned the Big 3 era in ninjas, pirates, and shingami being over on his Twitter. It's no longer a western thing. HxH you know has disappeared too many times to ever be huge here, it's getting/gotten huge (dub is on Toonami currently) but way way too late. You simply have to respect what the Big 3 did and how the comparisons to their impact by saying My Hero and BC being the new Big 3 sound very dumb.

"Sequels" can be stupid, but they exist. Those 3 titles were indeed impacting a lot, but now it's those other 3 (for the action jump manga). You may think it's stupid, but this is the truth.

Not since last year. MHA started outselling Haikyuu since then.
Let's see at the end of the year, for now HQ sells m
And Kuroko and AC were selling more than Bleach. Yet are not in the Big 3?
They started when Bleach was starting to fall (both in sales and quality).

Well AC and kurobas never reached BLeach lifetime sales or even matched it in worldeide popularity so neither series can get big three status

---
Im glad the crunchyroll article validated the Bakugou is a poor mans Sasuke views.

I saw a better comparison among the fandom of Midoriya, Urameshi, and Kurosaki of all being the same character than an Asta Kurosaki connection.

I'm avid MHA fan but the only reason MHA outselled HQ is because of Backlog sale.
It is also yet to be seen if heroaca will outsell total hq lifetime sales.

BnHA vol 17 is 58 on shoseki, so close to 2 volumes appearing on Oricon

when Bones bring their A game on anime episodea with a lot of action they always affect the manga backlog

with so many fights in this arc comes many opportunities for new boosts

Ice King: "They started when Bleach was starting to fall (both in sales and quality)." Doesn't matter, they didn't replace Bleach in the "Big 3", neither did HxH, which was selling better too. Thus it's not about sales.

SharkBait: "BLeach lifetime sales", you do realise you compare a high seller with 71 volumes to a high seller of a 30 and 21 vols? To reach Bleach, they have to sell more than double of it and in AC case triple. It's obvious why they can't reach it in total sales. Heck in such comparison, a 500k seller with 100 volumes have bigger sales than 10 volumes 2 million per volume seller. Also if you read what I said before, it's not only about sales, otherwise Bleach would have been excluded long ago. I mentioned sales, because HQ was mentioned as better seller = granting him big 3. The way I see Big 3 is the current most popular action/battle series in Jump. And that's why I don't see AC/Kuroko/HQ titles as part of the big 3. As Worldwide popularity, obviously, western care more about action/battle series than sport series.

I dont think that's alwayd true. I dont remember big shokugekis or big fights in toriko anime causing sales to keep boosting like didnt both series see drops, same for BLeach post aizen or during aizen, naruto, and one piece has been decreasing.
