What source? You can even see it on Twitter the amount of discussion BC gets in comparison.
again how are you quantifying discussion? and separating out sales and good bots, and excluding out loud people who only post 100 tweets an hour on a topic from, say 100 individual people posting about the anime.

By the amount of people who discuss it per chapter and episode. Its pretty self explanatory.

but you arent providing numbers, so its all based on your feelings of how many people it seems like.

Why would I provide numbers for something that's self explanatory? The amount of retweets that came about with Kimetsu announcement was vastly higher than anything in BC. I see just what I see on twitter but I already know you're willing to dismiss any negativity garnered towards BC under any means.

And since when are Twitter comments a source?

Singling out a retweet of an announcement compared to what(?) seems like a weird metric to use to say there is more of an online presence for something over another. Maybe if you were gauging the average weekly tweets of Kimetsu to avg weekly tweets of whatever other series of interest it would make sense.

Like what are you comparing it too? What tweet of BLack CLover would you even use?

It just seems like a pretty weird thing to use to gauge presence.

You dont even know the quantity of people who even RT Kimetsu anime announcement, are even reading the series.

This discussion really cannot end, even if Kimetsu will surpass Black clover by a large margin(not that I think it would, but than again, I don't read it so my opinion is invalid), there could always be a retort of "How are sales anything indicative? Kimetsu fans could all be fanatics who purchase several copies of the same volume just like crazy fans for popularity polls". The next volume should show an indication of interest.

Sales are tangible measurable quantities that cant be refuted so that defense you propose wouldn't hold its water in any discussion with level minded people. Reach of tweets is abstract, not quantifiable, and easily subject to bias of the reach of the one proposing it, so it doesnt hold its own in any discussion with level minded people. It is subject to skepticism until an agreed upon systematic method of analysis is conducted and unbiased empirical evidence is generated.

except we only get sales for physical volumes. For all we know KnY gets 80% of it's sales digitally meaning it actually sells much better than we think.

Im going to need strong evidence that suggests that it is selling 80% of its volumes digitally.

it was just a number. What I'm saying is we don't actually have accurate sales numbers because if anything sells significantly better digitally than physically that completely throws off the numbers we get.

Here we do not talk about sales, but about popularity.

And it is clear that BC IMHO has very little, no one talks about it on social networks ....

A video of My Hero where Todoroki smiles has a million views, while he finishes the only video on BC to have that figure is that of the third opening followed by two of insults.

Oh people talk about it mainly to shit on it and then the defense force comes to swear up and down that its the anime tgat its bad and that the manga is "on fire" now. Honestly I kinda just want to see how Neverland and Kimetsu are received by anime onlies since I just know that Kimetsu will be a hard sell unless they speed through the first half.

Digital views of a video is a questionable metric to use it comparing Kimetsu no Yaiba to BLack Clover. What would kimetsu fans make content of? Manga panels with Linkin Park music? And youtube views are driven by populatity of the youtuber and not content. Why else do people sit through 20-minute reviews of a 15 page manga chapter. Madness.

If you only count the west, sure, people most talk to shit on it (mainly in the anime because those are anime fans, they don't care about manga). In Japan though, where it matters, I don't think this is true with how the manga is doing. It's the Toriko of this generation but it's definitely a success on it's own and popular.

Kimetsu has more online popularity in Japan than Black Clover, whether you’re using the amount of twitter followers the official series account has, the number of tweets it gets each week compared to it, the number of fanart it gets compared to it, or the number of likes and retweets on any tweet on Kimetsu’s official account gets compared to BC. It’s plain obvious.
It’s mostly because Kimetsu’s audience is different to BC’s (Kimetsu having an older one than BC, which we’ve heard is mainly made up of kids) and more passionate about it.
As of actual manga sales popularity, BC is bigger (but comparing them now is dumb when one has an airing anime and the other doesn’t)
