I hope not, but it doesn't really make sense for Shueisha to be promoting it with a color page if they're just gonna cancel it, does it? Plus it looked like they were doing some sort of cross promotion thing with Jujutsu Kaisen, so maybe this is just a coincidence.
wasnt oda given his permanent 1 week off every 4 chapters so that he could better have time for the manga?
In all things time/enough time is the greatest issue, even monthly manga writers have time issues (looking at you BLue Exorcist), and "cant meet a deadline" is by definition a "time" issue.
Just going by author comments some of the writers appear to be so good on time they can play the latest games like splatoon/zelda/puyo puyo tetris/gravity daze 2/dragon quest x (travel and view wrestling matches/watch movies, concerts, (oda RPO, oda travel to south korea, oda at namie amuro concert) binge watch tv shows (big bang theory (we never learn), vikings (food wars) help their assistants with their work (We Never Learn), play with toys (Fujimaki), go golfing with other authors (fujimaki) and lastly handle drawing promo materials while moving (Boichi), serve as judge, go strawberry picking (oda). Thats all just in the last 8 weeks of issues.
You can't just put all mangaka under one umbrella. They have different circumstances that affect the output of their work. Not all of the manga have to deal with the workload that Tabata and Horikoshi are dealing with. You can't just simply compare them like they are one and the same.
Well although the sample size is small, it does say something that Invade You didn't get a single mention and Momiji only got 1. I think these 2 are both going to end up in the bottom 5 once they start ranking.
Holy cow, that's some good art. I saw a thread in 4chan where someone was posting other art done by the artist for Act-Age. There was some fantastic fanart for Samon-kun in there. I love how the artist listed Samon-kun as one of his favorite series, and he winds up creating a 30K Club member of his own lol. I hope Numa Shun comes back with a comedy soon...
A lot going on here. Saguri hype! Noah's Notes just barely hanging on for now, Yuuna too low for my liking, and Act-Age getting a color page is hype! The new series' title is so hilariously absurd that I hope that's what the author was going for and not that he thought it was genuinely cool. Ziga is finally dead, but Robot also getting cancelled and getting ranked dead last is surprising. It still managed to sell around 80K per volume, so it seems odd that they let Ziga one-up it on its final chapter. Even Spring Weapon wasn't last its final chapter.
What do you think are going to become frequent members of the bottom 5 now the 2 of its basically permanent residents are gone? If I had to guess: Momiji and Invade You will frequently be there (unless Invade You gets Spring Weapon treatment); Noah's Notes will probably be near the top of the bottom 5 often; the rest will probably cycle through Zumo, Gintama, Yuuna, Shokugeki, Act-Age, and Jujutsu (unless its first volume is a big success) each week.
Stunningly beautiful color page. I'm guessing that since they announced the consecutive volume releases on a color page promoting the series, it's probably not a sign of cancellation for Act-Age. If the first volume sold decently well, hopefully the next 2 volumes show growth since the story really gets better from there.
I'd say I'm more excited for this new series that the one with the insanely-long title. With how good Act-Age has been, I'm really feeling optimistic about how it'll turn out.
I'm going to have to wait for a translation on this series since I can't get a good reading on what this is about whatsoever. I can't tell if this is taking itself very seriously in its action scenes, or if it is meant to be humorously over-the-top in a comedic way
The HZ visual looks pretty good. When will we get another PV? I really want to see some animation. An episode count would be great since they already told us that they're adapting all 17 volumes.
I don't think this is the beginning of a new spin-off. But just a replacement chapter (by the author of Saguri-chan Tankentai) because the chapter of My Hero Academia is only 13 pages. It seems to me that's what the Japanese guy who posted the toc said.
