Why not? I can see some authors maybe not wanting to have to deal with weekly simulpubs but I can't imagine many would throw away extra money (especially fresh talent that have grown up in a pretty connected world)

I don't think that's the case but there are examples of mangaka with weird stipulations regarding distribution of their series. For example Ippo's mangaka won't allow the series to be released digitally in WSM.

Seems for now they' continue to fill space with OPM chapters on weeks without monthlies, I imagine they plan to catch up on it while the GFC is running then they'll pick up a new series from the batch after it. It seems likely that we'll get 4 new series (taking the places of Noah's Notes, Gintama, and probably Momiji and Invade You) so hopefully one of them sticks.

Remember it's not just RxL they lost, they were meant to have a new monthly series too with Rurouni Kenshin which they dropped obvious reasons. I know it wasn't around for long and didn't take anything's place but still, even if it was monthly that's still another series less to read.

Also I hope we get pics of that life sized figure Man-Gatarou crowdfunded once it's made.

I haven't read too much into it yet but Jump is having a collaboration with Mcdonalds. Details will be in the issue but seemingly, you get a coupon with Issue 40 with which you can get 1 hamburger with for free. In addition, at participating stores, if you follow the connection method, using the free wifi at the restaurant, you can read up to 1000 pages of Jump works for free in a special site in Jump+.

Basically I'd say this is a method of promoting Jump+. Still, Nakano and Shueisha are collaborating with quite some interesting things recently.

Those "papers" are little books. They are like pamphlets with only 25 pages, a kind of mini-versions of Official Catalogues.
