The raws are out for Invade You, it really does look like it's ending next chapter.

Well, that certainly does look like the setup to something that's leading to a conclusion. I guess if there's one thing that I like about this chapter and potential wrap-up, I'm glad the author provided some screentime for each of the side characters that were important to the series. I always enjoy getting one last peak at what everyone's up to before a series ends

The conversation between Shimada and Kawada was publically released. I’ll get to translating it later if no one does so in the meantime.

I'm not really surprised that Black Clover have a second season. And is it a second season? Or just more episodes for the same season?. But anyway, as someone who like the series, It's nice to see the anime continuing. I just hope that the production gets better and reaches an stable condition much like Boruto did since the beginning.

And as for why it got a greenlit, considering that TV Tokyo is the main funding company (and Pierrot is the only other one), it's probably doing well for them and there's no other anime to get it's timeslot for now. And in Crunchyroll I always see BC high so I wonder if streaming is also a motive

Can we please not do the 'venerate veterans' thing again with another phrase? That whole sequence of events didn't result in anything good.

Anyways back to actual WSJ discussion, the Neverland comment this week has me wondering, do we know about how far in advance cover pages and such are done? Is it a thing the artists do as they're making that week's chapter or is it something planned weeks to months in advanced?

I can maybe picture someone like Oda who knows they'll get lots of covers just having a bunch of premade ones ready whenever but you get enough specific news tie-in covers (like this week's burger one) that they couldn't all be generics made in their free time.
The chapter that you read each week was in fact made at least 2 weeks in advance (someone who works at Viz say they get the manuscripts from Shuiesha JPN 2 weeks prior to start translating).

Every Issues of WSJ have preview for next week (Cover and CPs and such), so given all that we have the author should have about 3~4 weeks in advance.

Probably just the same. It seems very similar to World Trigger’s situation back when it was airing tbh. It will be interesting how long it does actually get extended in the end. I kind of feel like they just want Asta’s new form animated lol.

They really need to do something about production though. That reveal trailer that was released was pretty much just a showcase of how terrible the show looked. Unfortunate that this extension is probably just going to make things worse...

Manga finishing within two years after anime ends is the trend for most series in WSJ.
The only exceptions are Bleach
Two year more...

Looking at it, yeah, there's many jump anime next year.

Oh, for sure. Production is totally fucked up and needs to be corrected.

Wouldn't surprise me if a final Gintama season was announced once Silver Soul ends in a few weeks as well. I guess Saiki too in whatever form that ends up coming in.

The second and last volume of Ziga by Kentarou HIDANO and Rokuro SANO contains an unpublished 39-page epilogue.

Oh wow, a 39 page epilogue for Ziga. That's awesome. I like when series has stuff like this, even if they got cancelled that early. But sadly it's pretty rare. I don't know what difference it can make in making the ending feel more conclusive, but I'd like to see it try. I might pick up the volume now.

Very few of these new series seem to be succeeding, to no one's surprise.

If Jujutsu continues to do well I wouldn’t be shocked if it got an anime announcement around this time next year

Is the current Gintama anime ending in a few weeks though? The anime has already started the 2 years later epilogue arc adapting the first 2 chapters of it in the latest ep, and it's still calling it the Silver Soul arc (since it's the aftermath part of the arc) so I get the impression it's going to continue into Autumn and finish it now.

1 more cour would mean they could do 2 chapters per ep for the rest of the series (which is the usual for Gintama gag stuff), and the first part of the finale anime was 2 cour (remember it went from Porori straight to Silver Soul) so it'd make sense for the second half to be as well.

Two year more...
Yeah, Bleach lasted 4 years. Prince of Tennis lasted 3 years. Both are exceptions to the 2 year trend solely because their sales were that big at the peak.

Too soon.

I think that for an announcement it will take another two years at least.

Jujutsu will be about ch 70 at this point next year (and ch 80 or so by the end of 2019), that's a fairly common time to get an announcement these days in WSJ.
