Is Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind identical to the anime, or is it its own thing?

I don't believe I have read any of the mangas related to the Ghibli films - guessing they were just the exact same thing in manga format

What really captivated me in Naruto was the fact it contained freaking ninjas who could breath fire and summon giant frogs (plus that rock lee vs gaara fight T_T). Let's be honest, who didn't try to form hand seals and scream "Katon! Goukakyu no jutsu!" at some point of their life ...

Sadly it lost these subtle elements in the last arc.

The movie only adapts a small part of the manga. The manga is more expansive in that part, and then carries on for probably 4-5 times more story after that (and it’s solidly great all the way through).

Compare it to Akira film vs manga, and you’ll have a sort of idea.

[Arjuna]

In my country lot of narutotards are there who believe that Naruto is the best thing in the world.

Sure part 1 was great but second ...

[Organizized]

Forgot to mention.. that’s two, Ust!

Don't use that word man...it's just sad and hurtful...

For sure it's worth a read then - as Akira is far, far, superior to the film version (it's almost a different thing altogether).

Higuchi is bae:

Spoiler

I guess you're lucky Faust chose that one, it's a good cover.

My choice would've been vol 8:

Spoiler

The vol covers, spreads/colour pages are pretty cool looking, much more picturesque than the manga art style (which I love, but not because it looks cool).

Wouldn't recommend the manga generally either. Probably only Xadyu of the ppl playing, though I'm sure he's read it

Damn it, I've gone mainstream... now I have to find another obscure little thing to use as an avatar...

The Synopsis is interesting.

I really liked Freesia, too bad it wasn't longer but I really enjoyed it. Sukedachi 9 (author is the brother of the author of Naruto) also has a very similar concept, though Freesia is much more seinen-ish in a lot of ways.

Earlier this year I read a few more works from Jiro Matsumoto (Freesia) and I don't know why but I really like his style and the stories he tells.

It is, and I was actually leaning between Akira and Nausicaa for “classic manga where the manga needs to get more attention”. Sorry about that, since that meant you were alone on Akira. That’s almost criminal..
