Exactly. I'm utterly baffled by this treating of a series having to have top-selling number to be "a success". Even Hinomaru is a success people, it's just a smaller one than the other manga in Jump's roster.

Thinking about it, I think he meant the anime being a flop as far as boosting sales goes, but again, it's literally only one episode in, so as he said, around the one cour mark would be the time to judge. Even then it sells just fine without a boost from the anime, so.

There's also the fact that not every series gets an anime boost immediately. Some take longer to kick in.

Just a thought but, if we're to assume Hinomaru is ending in about three chapters, then wouldn't that free up enough space that Jump could comfortably have a two-three series batch while still leaving room for the GFC to run?

Yeah, that was my whole point with the post. I just wanted to remark that both series would be surviving for at least 3 more chapters and in this case, TLS would be surpassing 20 chapters.

He ended the epilogue chapter with some of those other monster generals shoving the shark girl everyone loved into the mouth of a giant monster. Basically, he brutally and pointlessly killed off the only shred of popularity this series ever received.

Yikes... well was never a fan of him anyway. Ziga already turned me off on ch1

Imo ne0lation had the best coloring in the game, it was really attractive

why aren't Jump spinoffs on Jump+ on MangaPlus?
they have passed on Vigilante, Quartet Knight, Létoile, Haikyuubu, (Vigilante is available on Viz but not on M+)

they have built in audiences so the risk is smaller than all the unknown doa plus titles they keep picking up for no apparent reason

also, why are they not picking up Boukyaku Battery? a baseball manga from plus that's popular on the site and selling well and been nominated for awards
it's obviously not going anywhere, pick it up already there's a sport genre drought on the site
there are like 4 sport manga, Hinomaru and Moonlight could end soon, we don't know what will happen with Beast Children, which means only Haikyuu will remain

I don't know why they didn't pick up Boukyaku Battery instead of Moon Land anyway. It was already clear that it was a success at that point. If they wanted a sports series that was more sensible choice. It didn't have that many chapter at that point either.

I dunno, but at this point it seems like another 6 series serialization round is a necessity.

With 6 at one time, there's a half decent chance one gets enough time to develop that it manages to escape cancellation and turn it around.

Fun thing about the second one is that was 2 weeks before the 6-round serialization of early 2017. BTW that Asagaya oneshot is Act-age oneshot and prequel

The Toc of end 2012 is the one that confuses me since is after almost all new succesful serializations of the year (Shokugeki was coming 3 issues after that ToC, though).

I think Yuuna-san is both going to survive and to be stretched for a while. I mean, worst case possible, all 5 newbies (all the 2019 titles except Samurai 8 for obvious reasons) could be axed + Hinomaru could be ending. I don't imagine Jump having suddenly 6 open slots though.

The only one I see surviving guarenteed is TSS, but I see no haste for now compared how cramped it was with the chainsawman batch
