Shiro Uzuzaki (artist of Act-Age) did a (currently unfinished) drawing of Kohaku from Dr Stone and Kugisaki from Jujutsu Kaisen, for those interested.

FINALLY!!!

It returns in the exact same issue as last year. I think GFC is not happening this year like 2006/2013

I guess that confirms they're skipping GFC this year?

As an aside, this could easily provide a new timeline for new series. Taisei and Beast can easily end in a few issues from now, then Yui and Shinobi can end around November, allowing for a new December batch like we got last year.

As a notice, MangaPlus IDs for the Jump series are reseting this Sunday, so we should know if something is ending soon.

Oh crap, you are right. Seems like an usual bait, sigh.

At least there is hope I am getting Runway de Warrate anime soon, so it's a one good thing happening today at least.

So, I've been re-reading Double Taisei and I've been thinking...is there some kind of specific to creating a new hit series in the board game sub-genre? Because I'm left wondering what Hikaru no Go had which all these failed re-creations lack.
This is a very good question and a difficult one to answer. If it were easy to know what series will be a hit the editors would make them themselves. :P
It is always a mixture of good writing, good drawing and luck (state of the magazine, the current lineup at the time, etc). I don't remember any board game series now to make a broader comparison so I will only talk about Double Taisei and Hikaru no Go. That's how I view it.

Board games are naturally boring to talk about (when you know the game it is interesting, but when you don't know, it is boring, really) and this is a challenge in itself. Hikaru no Go had a respect for the game of Go, I think the game was more a protagonist than Hikaru and Sai, it had the right amount of explanation for you to understand and feel excited about it and the great characters made the final touch to make it interesting. When I was reading Hikaru no Go I looked for ways to play Go because it was interesting! Double Taisei doesn't do that, it focus more on Tai and Sei than the game, it sounds like the game is just an excuse, I didn't learn anything about Shogi so far and learning is important to me in this type of manga and at least for me the relationship between Tai and Sei is not that interesting. Of course there is more to this, but I think this is the main difference.

Taisei has a potential to be a solid gag manga, but utterly fails as a shogi one. Sad about this one, hopefully the mangaka will learn from this mistake.

You say that, but I also think that Hikaru no Go was more funny than Double Taisei, like, by far, because the characters are much better.

For various announcements I would wait for the next two days, it is too early to release something related to the jump.
