I like the idea of having some more positive discussion in this thread. So let's get positive!
Which 2019 debut are you enjoying most? Is there anything in this serialization year you think deserves to stay?
For me, I think it's Tokyo Shinobi Squad. It's not doing anything particularly revolutionary or groundbreaking for the shonen battle genre, but it has pretty good execution on a lot of the genre's core elements. The main cast is made up of really likeable characters. my favorite being En, an adorable and earnest kid with an eidetic memory. The powersets are pretty cool, I like what they've shown of the Ninpo system so far and how En's memory powers work, I feel like there's potential for all of that to develop in neat ways. And I love the art. It's perfect for action scenes, and characters emote with a lot of personality. It's not reinventing the wheel by any means, but it's doing a surprisingly good job spinning that wheel. I think what TSS really needs is the opportunity to start a major arc with an engaging villain, so I hope that it gets to stay for at least another round so it can do that. I get the vibe that it will.
I also think that Mission: Yozakura Family is very promising, and Mitama Security just cracks me up, man.
