What data are you expecting? The volume just came out today after all.So, still no Shokugeki data ?

What's not credible about it? Those kind of things happened a lot in our book store. I don't think this person is lying or being malicious at all. (But it's just one person's personal experience.)I bet 20 bucks that this 5ch (absolutely credible) employee is just mr. "Twitter dude". . .
Well, yeah, if you've been following a manga for nearly 100 volumes, you won't easily drop it because of a lesser arc.And still sells a lot.
So beatifull how far manga/anime has become and passing it to the next generation
, this is why i love shonenjump and anime as an whole so much.
Yeah, it's pretty common. The big bosses order a whole lot because this could be the next big thing and the local workers get swamped. (Even if it does sell well, you still have to fit it in your stock somewhere.)Regarding the oversupplying, it's been getting discussed by many people online, including people who don't use 5ch, so I highly doubt the story is faked.
So you refuse to believe that Japanese bookstores ordered a lot of S8? I thought you were one of the people who expected the series to do well? It’s all hearsay unless they want to deliver hard evidence through pictures and what not.
Here's the thing about Jump:That would have been far better than what Naruto is
I think this is true with most battle shonen, not just Jump. Here's the thing about Jump:
You get canceled a hero, or renewed long enough to become the villain.

At this point I have stopped bothering about S8's sales, in fact Vol 3 ones will be more fun for me. I am more interested in how 2.5D Seduction 1 will do and how low/poor Dear Sa-Chan 1 will place on lol.You guys are more dramatic than the average, which is already high, recently. Calm down, guys, it's not like Samurai 8 life depends on it, even if it goes bad, it will not get cancelled any time soon because it's Kishimoto. Being a renowned author has its perks although it shouldn't.![]()
Most likely answer? 2.5D will manage 30k or so, while Sa-chan will bomb and struggle to break 2k.At this point I have stopped bothering about S8's sales, in fact Vol 3 ones will be more fun for me. I am more interested in how 2.5D Seduction 1 will do and how horrible Dear Sa-Chan 1 goes lol.
I have a feeling 2.5D does similar/around as Interrogation Princess, Dear-Sa Chan wise I agree with that. Most likely answer? 2.5D will manage 30k or so, while Sa-chan will bomb and struggle to break 2k.
I’m not saying the story is untrue, I’m just saying that I have no idea how reliable the source/sources is so why would I just trust them. No one has even linked the comments, I’m just reading about them either from a party that read them or from a party that heard from someone else that read them.Yeah, it's pretty common. The "We don't have any expectations for it" is personal opinion though. But that doesn't qualify as hating.

Kubo said his generation feared they would not live up to the past era's success and Horikoshi feared the current generation wouldn't live up to Jump's three pillars of the 00s.For those curious, here's some summary points from the Kubo x Horikoshi interview. More of them are in the twitter thread:

I disagree, the less perks it has the better. S8 shouldn't be allowed to continue in a situation where if it was a no name author it would've been axed. The quality of the manga should be what matters, not who is making it or how much advertising it gets. Otherwise it'll end up like the film industry, where the name of the actors, director, and advertising budget dictate success more then quality, and that in turn leads to even more problems like nepotism, just a few companies controlling the entire market so if you get blacklisted you're done, people desperately smoozing to curry favor it's certain higher ups, little creative freedom, etc.No. It should have its perks.
Kishimoto serialized Naruto for 15 years with hardly any breaks, became one of three pillars of his generation, became one of the reasons what pushed manga and anime to became mainstream worldwide aka a reason why forums like this exist, brought in SO MUCH revenue for the magazine and the manga and anime industry as a whole.
Series like MHA would not be so mainstream outside of Japan if it wasn't for series like Naruto pushing boundaries and becoming mainstream at a time when the world was still not fully connected.
If any mangaka deserves perks, its mangaka like Kishimoto.
Sure you can state the drawbacks to such a system. But unlike the movie industry that has numerous A list actors, how many Kishimoto's or Kubo's or Oda's are there in the industry or have been over the course of the last 30 years? How many of them even return after their successful serialization? Having someone like Kishimoto who represented an entire era in the magazine with extra privileges is not wrong in any form or manner. It'd be wrong if the magazine over did it by overpromoting his series at the huge expense of others but that hasn't even happened. You know what would be worse tho? It'd be even worse if they treated him like a newbie and didn't show his loyalty some extra respect.I disagree, the less perks it has the better. Which just just goes to show how overall Shonen Jump do a terrible job with veterans just because of their own system, no one thinks Edens Zero will ever be cancelled by Shonen Magazine or MAO by Shonen Sunday, because even if these mangas were selling bad (which isn't the case) both Mashima and Rumiko did so much for these magazines and even the industry too that would be a huge shame and disrespect for these magazine to cancel their biggest names, but here we are talking months about the possibility of Masashi Kishimoto being cancelled in like 1 year if doesn't sell great, something that in literally any other magazine would be just crazy talk.No. It should have its perks.

But not giving a break even to veterans is part of what has allowed Jump to stay healthy? Hungry Marie, Robot x Laserbeam and right now Yui Kamio were all titles which failed to incure audience interest long-term and they were punished as a result.Which just just goes to show how overall Shonen Jump do a terrible job with veterans just because of their own system, no one thinks Edens Zero will ever be cancelled by Shonen Magazine or MAO by Shonen Sunday, because even if these mangas were selling bad (which isn't the case) both Mashima and Rumiko did so much for these magazines and even the industry too that would be a huge shame and disrespect for these magazine to cancel their biggest names, but here we are talking months about the possibility of Masashi Kishimoto being cancelled in like 1 year if doesn't sell great, something that in literally any other magazine would be just crazy talk.
Exactly. WSJ cancelled RxL despite how well Kuroko No Basket did. WSJ cancelled a Hungry Marie despite beelzebub being an impressive series for a comedy. And we all know that if S8 doesn't do well for two years, it'll likely get canned. Two years isn't much to ask for, for Kishi's loyaltyWhich just just goes to show how overall Shonen Jump do a terrible job with veterans just because of their own system, no one thinks Edens Zero will ever be cancelled by Shonen Magazine or MAO by Shonen Sunday, because even if these mangas were selling bad (which isn't the case) both Mashima and Rumiko did so much for these magazines and even the industry too that would be a huge shame and disrespect for these magazine to cancel their biggest names, but here we are talking months about the possibility of Masashi Kishimoto being cancelled in like 1 year if doesn't sell great, something that in literally any other magazine would be just crazy talk.
