Its honestly just speculation but it feels too coincidental that ufotable, a studio that has been active for 19 years, was suddenly interested in adaptating a WSJ manga to TV right after the writer of Fate said something about it since the last time they did anything with WSJ was animating the Toriko Jump Festa pilot. Maybe Nasu didn't directly convince them to adapt it but his author recommendation might have gotten it attention from venues.
If that was the case then they would have pushed it on A-1 to work on it instead and ufo isn't Aniplex's lapdog since the Fate franchise is the only series under them that they work on and its not even exclusive. Also Haruo did work on Fate UBW.
Aniplex has a lot of series given to other studios, Yuma Takahashi other production are I want to eat your pancreas , Cells at Work! and Qualidea Code only one at A-1 and yeah both of them worked on UBW 12 as 2nd KA due to the schedule and they needed everyone but my point is both of them never worked directly with Nasu or TM and they usually doing other stuff while Fate is being produced (Tales mostly).
guys.. cmon. no manga beat one piece for a decade, stop hoping its gonna happen, Cuz IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. one piece is too Goat, its only gonna happen when OP ends.
Yeah and I was saying that they usually just go directly to their own affiliated studio to work on them so if they were interested in Kimetsu it would have went directly to A-1 rather than ufotable.

Well you said they never worked on a Fate property which was false everyone who worked on Kimetsu had their hands on the franchise one way or another but that doesn't mean that any of them have actually worked directly with Nasu since his only credit as an active participate in an anime's production was being the writer for Fate/Extra under SHAFT but his word might have peeked their interest in the property. Directors are usually contracted to work on a given series they don't neccessarily have to know the property just have to do a good enough job (Haruo had never actually played a Tales of game when given reigns to direct the anime) it was the producer who was a fan of the series before the anime was announced. I just want to know what led Ufo, a studio known more for videogame adaptations, to adapt a WSJ property out of thin air.
Personally, I think that the massive success of series such as Kimetsu, MHA, and TPN is owed in part to their anime adaptations. They’re all seasonal anime being done by studios that are relatively really solid. (It’s kind of a shame TPN was more of a B-project while CloverWorks worked on Fate/GO, though.) I do hope Jump takes notice of this and continue to produce more seasonal, high-quality anime adaptations in the future.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba recently had its greatest episode yet, and that means it’s time for a deep dive into its production: its core strengths, some recurring issues, but above everything else, the harmony between different creative departments that makes its highs so spectaculars. Truth...
LOL Shonen Jump series don't release volumes at the end of the month, and OP 95 isn't scheduled for Dec or Jan, it'll most likely release in February 2020

Coincidentally so was MHA which was noticeable to the point where the crew even admitted that the first season looked nothing like a BONES anime. They had to scale back production on Kimetsu and took a year to work on it alongside HF because they didn't want to run into production issues like what came about with UBW and God Eater hence why it doesn't look nearly as good as their usual output but its far more consistent.

The good thing for them is that their staff are capable and talented enough that it all comes across as consistent the whole time. No one would notice the difference unless they trained their eyes enough to spot the subtle differences.

I'll say the only difference is that Kimetsu uses a lot more CG in comparison to the other two and its story boarding is lacking in general but when it came together (ep. 19) you get something on par with their best outputs. The year really helped them get their shit together after the God Eater diaster and Heaven's Feel is looking to be the best looking work since the KnK films.
Honestly the only manga that deserved to beat it was AoT cause not only was it a year after the anime ended but also along the same time the volume sales had also increased so it wasn't just running entirely on backlog. Kimetsu on the otherhand is entirely on backlog and it only got this close fairly recently and along the same time OP's sales armor were starting to break so it couldn't rely on its backlog like in previous years.

Also FF proves that no matter how much care is put into your work it won't mask the fact that the work itself isn't very good. Ufo just brought out what a lot of people already knew what made Kimetsu so good whereas David almost seem too good for the source of material its working on.
This reminded me of something that I've been thinking for a while.
Isn't this is almost the same with Nana and Deathnote when they beat OP many years ago?
They managed to surpass OP yearly sales and volume sale too but they didnt do it when OP at its high. IIRC, OP at Water 7/Enies Lobby arc and was on its declined for years or just starting to recover from its declined . Thats been years after OP volume 27 2.67 million copies, an all time 1st printing record at that time.
