KimetsuOk guys. With 2010s decade almost over, what would be your favorite top-5 titles from this decade?
For me, in no order: My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Act-age, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Assassination Classroom
Saiki, Osamu, Hinomaru, Hinata, KeiIt would be nice to ask who's your favorite MCs in this decade

Why it even bothers you if someone read or not OP? lolFavorite MCs? Jeez, 4chan and MH have really become synonymous.
Osamu 100%.
Also, is it really too much to ask for people discussing WSJ, to read its highest-grossing and currently highest-impact series? Or at least get a hundred chapters into it?
Is it fairly uncommon for mangaka nowadays to show their faces? I mean old timers seems to not have problems doing that.I'm also surprised he's not a woman. But I'm more surprised he has showed his face on a interview.

the only time you see a mangaka face is when that person is going to a con (whether International or Locally) or during an interview. Also how old are you talking about, if it's in the 80s, it's because they already appear in an ads by WSJ in one of the cover lol. Mangaka rarely appear in puclibIs it fairly uncommon for mangaka nowadays to show their faces? I mean old timers seems to not have problems doing that.
That's not how it works. If that were the case, I should be able to read everything, since nobody is licensing manga in my region. As long as series is licensed or available to buy in the country you live in, you won't be able to read it.
Quick solution: use a VPN. I don't know, f.e., Poland doesn't have it, so you can binge the whole series there.

This is something incredibly annoying about the Manga Plus, you have cancelled series that will never be licenced anywhere outside Japan with deleted/hidden chapters, which means you can't even read a 19/20 chapter's manga because of that, i really don't know why they do this and is the reason why i'm glad that some online readers upload their chapters because i already had to go to these sites because i couldn't read all the chapters from some of the newbies in the app. That's not how it works. Plus even Hell Warden Higuma is hidden, and I'm fairly it isn't available anywhere outside Japan...
After reading all the chapters I'm still lost on how most of the power works in that mangaJujutsu Kaisen which is the only jump manga this decade that actually has a well intricate battle system,
I didn't tell anyone to binge read it over a weekend. It's so easy for you to take what I said and use it to make my point seem idiotic. I was surprised so many people blithely said they never planned to start One Piece because it was so long. I gave an example, saying that if you really wanted to you could binge it in a weekend, the point being that it's not some insurmountable mountain. My point still stands. And there's no point in continuing this conversation unless you feel like getting more internet points. No it isnt, what may be to much is to ask people to binge read over 900 chapters in such a short amount of time. I mean as someone who does loves OP, even a weekend isnt enough to catch up specially to where we are right now

Because we're here discussing Weekly Shounen Jump. If you don't know what kind of entity One Piece is you will have a large, glaring blank in your understanding of what makes up Shounen Jump. Why it even bothers you if someone read or not OP? lol

There's no need for power au*ism in JJK, it's just very fun and stylish. Its style of presentation is explaining the attack with some vague BS and then once you have a feel for what the attack is, they can just use it freely. I think it's fine to have less structured "power systems" in nu-Jump as long as they're memorable. After reading all the chapters I'm still lost on how most of the power works in that manga
This sounds like a form of gatekeeping. WSJ isn't any one thing, nor can it be mostly summarized by a single series.Because we're here discussing Weekly Shounen Jump. I think Viz has their Shonen Jump Vault if you wanna read official translations of cancelled Jump series in full, but yeah... if that isn't available to you you're SOL unless you're willing to sail the high seas.
That depends on the person. There's probably a lot of people who read One Piece without really knowing anything about Jump, then there's people who know about Jump yet don't or haven't read the manga. Though, I feel as if One Piece has become so crucial to Weekly Shonen Jump over it's run that it's kind of impossible to know about the magazine as a whole without at least having some knowledge about that particular manga. This sounds like a form of gatekeeping. WSJ isn't any one thing, nor can it be mostly summarized by a single series.
If someone reads every series in Jump except for One Piece, would they be more or less knowledgeable of Jump than someone who only reads One Piece?
Exactly.I see it as this way, if a series catches the reader (yourself) attention, then you would make an effort to catch up to that series. A lots regulars in this thread don't read One Piece because it doesn't appeal to them.
If the duration of a series is a factor, then I wouldn't catch up to Jojo part 1-7, Toriko, Hunter x Hunter, Black Cat, HYPEkyuu (up to <300), My Hero in the span of 3~4 years. Meanwhile, I restarted Fist of the Northstar, Kenshin three times now (read from chapter 1 to <20 and stop) and Hinomaru Zumou twice.
Yes. No wonder too. Basically just saying "Just binge it on a weekend, lol" doesn't sit right with people, rightfully so. No one claimed that One Piece is impossible to read from start to finish, but that doesn't mean people don't have legitimate concerns about the length. Some people only have the free time in a day to read a few manga chapters a day, really read them and not just browsing through. Is it because I suggested that a weekend-long binge read session is possible, and people don't think its plausible?
