We made it!
So Meister is a neat little football series that ran like ten chapters, by Kamiya Kaji, an author who isn’t that notable outside of maybe the assistants chart. It’s got that whole “this player is small” vibe that I like in sports manga, and only really fell as flat as it did because it was part of this obvious push to make football work again in Jump (see every post-whistle football manga). Regardless I own both volumes and I know it’s been scanned, so check it out

SEE I SAID I’D DO IT
... The first chapter already grabbed me more than the entirety of Beast Children.

I'm sorry, Beast Children. Your art is nice at times, but you're just so generic.

the floppy 4 are reaching their 25 chapters, which means WSJ kept 4 flops at the same time for half a year

RIP Sasaki

RIP Heishi

12 chapters is a little too far in my opinion (at least let them get a volume out), but now they are seriously dragging...

Maybe we'll get 6 new series as a Christmas present?

I highly doubt Jigokuraku will end before the end of the year. There's quite a lot to cover when though it feels we're nearing the climax. I predict Jigokuraku to end either mid/late 2020 or early 2021 if we're lucky.
Yeah, that one will probably last the longest.

Then again, Arata had a lot to cover too and then it suddenly wrapped up in two chapters, so it's not impossible. (But I'm guessing Jigo is a lot more popular.)

Jigokuraku is a lot more popular, and more importantly, sells considerably more than Arata Primal did. Jigokuraku probably isn't being axed any time like all these other Jump+ series.

You give color pages for the series that sells or expect lot of people to buy the magazine. It goes for every business to sell what people like the most, jump changed and so does the market.

... lol they want that yuuna baddies or one of the main titles that's kept them hyped on most of the arcs. Taisei or yui axe are just a waste of investment

Well Bottom 7 discounting Stone Reboot on this TOC are all newbies from this year...I can see why Shueisha doesn't want to give CPs to any of them. Nor they should.

Yui obviously isn't performing as they want it to be hence no support for it, enough. Vol 2 even dropped from already low sales in Vol 1, what else is to be said...

I thought Yui v2 rose slighty in sales (just barely though).

See I like Beast Children a bunch, but I have to agree. Meister had a way clearer plan from the very beginning, and tried (and failed) to deliver it. Beast Children’s big crime is being almost completely fueled by passion, but being so scrappy on plot and hooks

Dr stone's spin off ends in December or January, and TPN should also end in that period.
I think they can hold the manga of botton up to this time.

Sadly no. It dropped despite Vol 2 having more days of sales in the week.

Shoseki estimated sales numbers for some of the newbies that were in the magazine this year. David 4, Ne0lation 2/3, Saiyuki, Jimoto, Taisei and Beast never charted on weekly rankings. Number of days are in "( )".

What is the last time a Shueisha title crossing 10 million mark? Not counting OP of course.
To complement what others have said, a manga has only sold over 10m twelve times since Oricon strated tracking manga sales:

1-One Piece (2011) - 37 996 373 units
2-One Piece (2010) - 32 343 809 units
3-One Piece (2012) - 23 464 866 units
4-One Piece (2013) - 18 151 599 units
5-Attack on Titan (2013) - 15 933 801 units
6-One Piece (2009) - 14 721 241 units
7-One Piece (2015) - 14 102 521 units
8-One Piece (2016) - 12 314 326 units
9-One Piece (2014) - 11 885 957 units
10-Attack on Titan (2014) - 11 728 368 units
11-One Piece (2017) - 11 495 532 units
12-Seven Deadly Sins (2015) - 10 304 112 units

Kimetsu (2019) is already #12. One Piece (2019) has actually sold more than what the post you quoted said, since that number is missing the last two weeks of may and the entire month of June, so it should be very close to 10m, maybe even above. But I still don't think it will beat SDS, seeing that it only sold 70k this week and that there are only 2 weeks left.
Kimetsu could end up anywhere from #12 to #8, but if I were to guess, I would say it will reach #9

AoT truly was the next big thing in manga.

Kimetsu makes this list solely because of how low its sales were prior to the anime meaning it had more backlogs. But what it has done is pretty impressive beyond any doubt. It wasn't even in the half year list and now it has topped everything.
Too bad it might end soon, based on what most seem to say about the story.

Failed, really? I thought it was really exciting until the end. Would have loved to see more of it.

And I don't even usually like football.

praying that Reborn gets its continuation and BLeach as well now that kingdom is gifted its third season. Come on anime studios, you know there is interest in these way more than Kingdom.

I wonder if the M+ series on hiatus will ever come back.

Are there many examples of Jump+ series starting again after six months or something?

Shoseki estimated sales for some of the Jump 2015 manga. Roggy Vol 2 did not chart. Will do for more soon.

I mean failed in the most literal sense. It didn’t do well enough to keep telling its planned story. I think it’s rad regardless. I think it was one of the first non-Captain Tsubasa football manga I read, and I loved it. Glad you dug it!

Do you follow other magazines? because all of them do pretty much the opposite, most of the magazines give at least a color page to celebrate/promote the first volume of their mangas even if they already know it will not sell much, and if they realise a newbie is being decently received they already give color pages, many of them even keep giving color pages for some "flop" series, color pages are not something incredibly expensive that magazines are only willing to give for the big success, this has nothing to do with "change of market" only Nakano not wanting to promote/reward the new mangas being well ranked.

It was always weird to me as to how fast the manga got axed, it didn't have a chance at all.

One Piece is less than a third of what it used to be 8 years ago.

OP was selling 30+ million due to backlog boost from Strong World. It wasn't selling 8 million per volume in those years, though it is true there is also a little drop in individual volume sales. Obviously not 3 times less tho.

Yeah, and also, it makes sense that not everyone that bought One Piece thanks to the hype would keep up with the series. 4 million/volume is pretty unsustainable after all. Sales are indeed dropping even considering that, though,, but I think it's normal for such a huge series.
