Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I think the last day is December 8 before weekly sales are reported, actually. So, this will be a 5-day opening week (unless you're Kimetsu, in which case you get a 6th out of sheer hype.) Or I might be missing something, but the last week ended on December 1.
Doing for December 7 now (thanks for the template!)

Shoseki Rankings for December 7 (Rank in parentheses was for December 6)
1 (2). Boku no Hero Academia V25
3 (1). Kimetsu no Yaiba V18
10 (8). Act-Age V9
27 (11). Jigokuraku V8 (Jump+)
42 (33). Yuragi-sou V19
53 (41). Hinomaru V28
68 (53). Ao no Flag V7 (Jump+)
83 (65). BnHA Vigilante V8 (Jump+)
112 (60). Dosanko Gyaru V1 (Jump+)
135 (85). Boukyaku Battery V6 (Jump+)
209 (142). Kamio Yui wa Kami wo Yui V3
243 (135). Shijinsou no Satsujin V1 (Jump+)

Dorei Yuugi, Arata Primal and Romantic Killer are out of Top 500.

Boku no Here Academia is doing much better than I thought. Stock issues or not for KnY, BNHA kept staying #2 and now even #1 every single day, that’s impressive

It's almost like the series is considered the face of the modern era for a reason or something!

Really happy for Dosanko Gyaru to still keep ranking. Jump+ series are picking up a lot of attention and I really hope this helps them to appear sooner or later in platforms such as MANGA Plus.

Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine, the Shonen Jump+ app and website, the variety program Oha-Suta, and Bandai's vendor division are collaborating on a "Jump Saikyō Gag Manga Award" competition, which launched on Friday. Contestants can submit their entries until February 6.

The competition is for a manga that would be a good fit for both Saikyō Jump readers and viewers of Oha-Suta. The winner of the competition will have a manga serialized on Shonen Jump+ (with a chapter also published in Saikyō Jump), an anime adaptation of the manga on Oha-Suta, and goods through Bandai's vendor division. The winner will also receive 1 million yen (about US$9,200).

Judges include comedian Sunshine Ikezaki, Hanasaka Tenshi Ten-Ten-kun and Reizōko no Tsuke no Suke! manga creator Kazumata Oguri, I'm From Japan manga creator Seiji Hayashi, and Bandai's vendor division judging team.
Huh... I guess this is a thing...

Zipman is quite high, which reminds me to read the second chapter, also I always find fascinating how mitama always score high on these, lets see if it translates on toc

I think that after Kimetsu/Jujutsu/Chainsawman, Jump is now more focused to have or an adventure manga(like samurai 8) or a "clean" battle shonen(like Zippo).
I think that they are seeing that although maybe kimetsu is ending, MHA and BC could end in the following years, so the want series to fill their space.

Black Clover will be around until 2030 if WSJ allows it and Tabata doesn't get ill, there's no worries about it ending any time soon unless it's popularity rapidly plummets. MHA's still got plenty left in it too, and with Jujutsu and Chainsawman ready to be new core series they don't need to worry about new battle shounen any time soon.

What they probably need to think about is getting stuff from any other genre to stick around, mainly gag, sports, and romcoms since they're all either currently low on representation in the magazine or will low soon.

With We Never Learn potentially ending next month or in February, and the oneshot romcom festival, I think Shueisha is also going to focus in get a new romcom for the magazine in this year.

That's like 15 years of Black Clover, I doubt an actual battle shonen besides Bleach/OP/Gintama/Naruto/Jojo will have that run, even Dragon Ball have only 11 years.
But yes, they need a spookon and a Romcom, but I think they want a series to attract the adventure or the MHA audience.

Nobody imagined this time last year that Kimetsu would become a million seller yet here we are.

Tabata has talked about wanting to do 700 chapters before and he certainly has enough potential arcs laid out to get there, it's just a matter of if it stays popular enough to do so.

Shoseki Rankings for December 7. You can really tell that that Kimetsu Volume 18 is beginning to run into stock issues because HeroAca 25 and One Punch Man 21 outranked it today.
Yep.
What's the chance it sells 1M or above this week? I know first print is at 1M, so can't wait for the numbers for this week.
Very high. I think it will pull a 600k or 700k in the first 3 days.

I don't think it will pull that much, but possibly a 600-700k first week (maybe even 800k).

I already have my doubts if MHA can last more than 5 years from now, I think BC might last even less.

TIL Dosanko Gyaru is by Ikeda Kai (Great Old), I remember him winning Next Champion award (basically Weekly Shonen Champion Gold Future Cup) with Psycho Load oneshot in 2017

I thought his style in writing was a better fit for Jump than Champion

2 years later & what do you know? Champion axed Great Old and Ikeda find success in Jump (albeit not with an action manga)

weird how Champion just let a newcomer awards winner just go to their competition tho

I would say that it is more likely that One Piece will end up between two chapters rather than Black Clover still going on for more than two or three years.

Some of you need to stop underestimating Black Clover, I know it's had this thing since it released of people trying to paint it as some unpopular flop but c'mon, it's carved out a healthy niche, gets solid mid-tier sales, and has a long running anime that's had no signs of ending.

Plus with 7-8 spots filled by either flops or nothing and 4-5 series likely to end next year, there's no chance of it ending any time soon unless Tabata decides to do it. They'd pretty much need 10+ bigger hits for Black Clover to be at risk and that's not certain to happen over the whole decade, never mind in just 5 or even 3 years (the 10s had I think 9 series bigger than Black Clover? maybe 10-11 depending on how Act-age and Chainsawman grow).

Black Clover's going to stick around for at least most of the 20s, whether you like it or not.

I think its a bold claim, the current trend for BC is of popularity stagnation at least, and decline at worst, judging from sales and japanese reception.
And like you said, the future is uncertain, some mega hits might pop up in the next 2 years or so that would throw BC under the bus.
I can't make a prediction for when black clover will end in the 20s, I am just certain that it won't reach the 30s

But there's no way to be certain of that. Whether people like it or not, Jump needs long runners, and Tabata already stated that, if allowed, he wants BC to be a super long running series.

It doesn't really need to become more popular or sell better, the magazine around it just needs to become bulimic, which is entirely possible.

Maybe because you are saying that it will have the length of Bleach/Naruto/Gintama, a run that neither DB, Dragon Quest or Toriko had?It can(and probably will) have a long run, but your first post was about a 15 years run, something insane.
If the topic were about being cancelled or not being popular (something that you are the one who is talking about and not us) I could understand, but you are saying that he will have a length that only happen to anomalies like Jojo or Gintama.
But well, could it happen? Yeah it could, and it also could be cancelled in 2020 and Kimetsu ending in 2040,but is not something with high probability to happen.
