Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Stan Lee was in Jump collabing with the Shaman King guy a while back
Ultimo was in Jump SQ. It just ran in Viz's monthly paper Jump back in the day.

Theoretically I don't have an issue with non Japanese mangakas working in Jump, I just worry it's going result in cases of trying too hard to write what they think a manga should be for an audience they don't fully understand, rather than just genuinely writing a comic they want to put out.

...

the word most of you people are looking for is "imprint"

eh, I have some free time,

Main jump

jump+

SQ

Saikyou

digital
Seinen series doesn't have distinct market on their series but they share the same digital banner (black instead of blue and a different logo)

don't want to touch into RC, MC, RMC for now...

most series that are carried from a jump maintained their Jump comic labeling

jojolion doesn't show the jump comics label on the digital version although it still have the blue banner

captain tsubasa loses the the label on the physical version but is still a shonen line even though it is in grand jump (and eventually it's own magazine soon)
btw color versions are red
not a rule though since some semi color stay with the original banner color, and some doesn't

the only major outlier is OPM, which is serialized in tonari young jump and had no connection to jump comics proper other than it is drawn by murata, but still having the jump comics label and the blue banner

also, series that continues from MSJ to SQ keep the jump comics label, but series that had a reboot changes

eh, that is all I am bothered to do for now,

not even getting into v jump, spin-off and some other minor things,

look them up yourself...

A top ten ranking for most watched anime for 2019 on Hulu’s Japanese servers has some Shonen Jump anime on it: https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/amp/p/000000157.000023394.html

3. One Punch Man
4. Hunter x Hunter
5. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
6. My Hero Academia
7. Gintama
8. Black Clover
9. Reincarnated as a Slime
10. Attack on Titan

Great post. I never repaired that series transferred to other magazines or that had new series on other magazines had the Jump Comics imprint. And yeah, there's many different imprint out there, which I have to admit I don't understand their function in the volumes.

Huh, okay then.

Next question, why exactly is OP not on Hulu when it seems most "mainstream" anime get onto the platform?

money

exclusivity contract
Wait, so they can get Detective Conan, which is popular to the point that the latest film was outgrossing Avengers Endgame, but OP is too expensive? How does the even work?

Now that Rain Spectre mentioned Amazon Prime, I found their yearly anime ranking for 2019 too, although they only do a top 5:

1. One Punch Man
2. Kimetsu no Yaiba
3. Promised Neverland
4. Doraemon
5. Dororo

In terms of overall TV program (anime, dramas, comedy etc.) ranking, One Punch Man and Kimetsu no Yaiba rank 3rd and 4th, beaten out by Japanese comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto’s Documental series and the Japanese version of the Bachelor.

What's strange about this?

It seems absolutely normal to me
