Welcome to the continued infamous power ranking event! Mini festival for all Fairy Tail section members, warming before the true festival: Fairy Tail Fighting Tournament!

This game is basically similar to @BluePegasus 's previous games (link 1 link 2) and Top 10 rank games in Fun Forum section combined. This time the category is "Tankiest Mages"!

RULES

1. DM your rank to me
2. Rank consists of 10 mages you consider to be the tankiest in FTverse.
3. Rank is simple, just give me rank from 1-10. The mage at #1 place gets 10 pts, the one at #10 place gets 1 pts. No x.5 points this time
4. It is open until 5 days from now. The ranking will be revealed everyday

But Irene is a dragon not a human. Human Irene existed 400 years ago when she was Queen of fodder Dragons of her kingdom. In this case she has absolutely no feats.

Also this is just the beginning. After this ends,we can go with

So, anyone placing bets? Erza and Laxus are almost guaranteed to be within the top 3, but who else?

My bet is on Madmole, dude is an absolute bastion of durability. In fact if this ranking was about durability alone he'd probably be at the top of mine.

Damn, August being allowed makes this much harder, dude took a serious attack from Gildarts and only had a bloody lip.

Top 4 are definitely going to be August, Madmole, Erza and Laxus IMO, but its really hard to gauge whose the tankiest.

Feats showed that despite getting hurt in her human form she was not nicked once she assumed her true form as a Dragon, but when she got hurt in Dragon body her human transformstion kept the same damage inflicted on her Dragon body. Therefore he human bodies damage is superficial and the blood is fake while her Dragon body's damage is the real deal.

She didn't cut her though. She literally tried to slice through her and failed lol. This while Irene let her defenses down as well.

Erza headbutted her right in the area she just made a big ol' gash on her.

In magical power no, they aren't equal but, in durability they are. Do you think human Acno has weaker durability than his Dragon form as well? The human transformation is just a husk, the Dragon form is what is under that husk. So unless you slice through them scales you can't kill them or actually hurt them.

I don't think there is any difference with transformations between Dragons when they turn human. It would be stated to have been a different technique if so.

This is for the upcoming tournament: I'm not against Irene participating because she's originally a human. I am however, against any dead characters so that eliminates characters like Auugst and Irene. As far as this thread goes, I think I will just adhere to Kiki's ruleset.

Irene's human form bleeds and can feel pain. She also died in her human form by stabbing herself. So all in all, I consider the human transformation as being separate (and weaker) than the dragon form. So yes, Acnologia is stronger in his dragon form. As are characters like Mercphobia. Kyria's roar can badly injure Mercphobia when he's in his human form, whereas the dragon form can no sell the combine effort of the team all with dragon slaying seals. Mercphobia also reverts to a human form now that he has no magic power. It's likely that turning into a dragon isn't actually some terribly difficult thing to do. Elfseria can do it all on his own, and all of the god dragons can do it on a whim. Irene, for whatever reason, just couldn't figure it out.

August at first glance seems to be able to easily top this tournament, but I wouldn't actually be so sure. August's ability to negate caster magic is a tactic to defend against magical attacks, but the limits of his durability can still be seen in how he took damage from Brandish' knife and Gildart's punch. I can see an argument for other characters having better durability if we discount the ability to negate caster magic. Other than that, I expect Erza, Laxus, Natsu, and Madmole all to score relatively high. Madmole in particular has the potential to rise to the top.

It's likely that turning into a dragon isn't actually some terribly difficult thing to do. Elfseria can do it all on his own, and all of the god dragons can do it on a whim. Irene, for whatever reason, just couldn't figure it out.

Irene wasn't very talented, to begin with, and she spent most of her time brooding near a lake.

At first Skullion seemed to have pretty good durability for tanking Gray's Des Sword but then he was damaged by a no name attack from Natsu. Maybe he used hax to tank Gray's attack.

Rough to rank Madmole before we see if he takes damage from Mira and Elfman, maybe he's just highly resistant to impact/physical type attacks, could be magic beams and such reach him easier. As it stands, no-selling Demo-Fist is one of the best durability feats in the manga. I'd say Madmole is more durable than Erza, but she's still a better tank because she can just keep sucking up those hits even if they damage her more.

I mean “the scales of the armor dragon will never know pain” seems to me he is either highly resistant or can negate physical attacks altogether.
