Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I literally cannot for the life of me figure out how to insert this sales chart(I'm sure someone has it who does), but Food Wars actually started dropping at volume 14 VoV, kind of odd considering its overall length, and by the late 20s, early 30s, it was selling barely over half its peak of 450k. So yeah, it had dropped pretty considerably years before ending.

Something like this? I couldn't find one that included the last 5 volumes.

Even after dropping it was selling more than what BC is doing though.

Yes, that one. But regardless of the actual numbers, it dropped volume over volume for well over half of its ~7 year run. That's all I was saying.

Oh yeah, then I agree. Food wars had more of a steady drop than a big drop really (which is what usually happens anyways), although I'd say it mostly started really declining with volume 21.
Before it lost a bit of steam but nothing too dramatic, however after volume 20 it really started to snowball.

It's really quite pointless to debate this kind of thing because it's practically impossible to truly "predict" the future in any reasonable way. Like, going into 2019, who would've expected that Kishimoto's much hyped and anticipated return would crash quite badly, that a middle-card battle manga like Kimetsu would suddenly become as popular as One Piece due to its anime, or that the biggest new series of the year would be a return from the author of Fire Punch in WSJ, and a Jump SQ author virtually no one knew about? Predicting Jump's long-term future is silly because there's no way one can anticipate the many variables that will come into play. All we can do is guess the immediate future based on the unestablished series running in the magazine, and which of the established roster seem close to ending. That's it.

Your mistake was thinking reddit is a reliable grading of anything.
Spy x Family isn't WSJ though. We shouldn't count since it's a different publication and it's not part of the lineup.

In other circumstances I would have felt sorry for BC's position, but the fandom has become so unbearable that I'm almost happy .....

LOL I want to see now everyone who says "But Black Clover will last another 15 years !!!!!! 111 !!"
More than success of JK (that there is) I will talk about demerits of Black Clover, the last twenty-thirty chapters are of a unique mediocrity, whatever the users of reddit say ...
Nah, many think so, only on fandom for obvious reasons do they still defend him with a drawn sword
Isnt funny how you try to act superior than a group of fans on Reddit while acting and commenting like a generic hater that you find there or on YT comments?

More mediocre than the supposed "last twenty/thirty chaptets" its your atempt on hating the series and painting the fans in a bad way because some comments on Reddit

A hater does not motivate. He just hates.

I am a fan.

I read and appreciate a manga, but if I find defects or things that do not convince me I point them out.

In itself I have nothing against BC. And the fandom makes me hateful, and I'm not just talking about reddit ....

Black Clover fandom is annoying as hell imo, however it's impressive that a series that was so abhorrently bad during its first year has become (imo) one of the best in the magazine right now.
Tabata really is a perfect example of a mangaka growing in skill the longer they work and I'm excited to see his full potential.

I feel the same way about Fujimoto too.
I thought Fire Punch was a pretentious mess. Full of interesting ideas but with awkward and often obnoxious execution.
However Chainsaw Man has literally become my favorite manga of all time and has easily surpassed HxH as my favorite from Jump alone. Sometimes it just takes time for an artist to find their groove, what works and doesn't, and learn how to best utilize their creative abilities.

So you're a fan and have nothing against BC but because some people's comments you're glad with a possible decline in the sales and popularity and talk bad about the series and fans as a whole.

Sorry but this doesnt make any sense, i'm not cheering for BNHA decline with the last volume just because (part) of the fanbase are annoying

You used to be one of the most ardent BC defenders in these threads,
Because I could not stand those who hated him or enjoyed his failures regardless of having read it.

If you want to judge something, then read it and then you can tell if it sucks or not.

Then, as already said, I have nothing against the manga, which I also follow with interest, and its fandom with the constant incensing and not wanting to notice the defects that make it hateful.

But all these arguments you used to have here were with people who had read the series. We pointed out issues we had with the writing/execution and you would just move the goalposts.
I don't want to make this thread about you, but I do share the same confused sentiment as Buranchi.

Uh yes, a fan also recognizes the defects and limitations of a work that follows, if not, if you end up defending everything with a sword, you can frown on denying even the obvious defects you are no longer a fan, but a fanboy, and those are the cancer of any fandom.

Weren't you the person to refused to accept that Samurai 8 was under-preforming no matter how many times we explained it?

Why're you suddenly acting like you understand the entire direction of Jump in the future?

Isn't that exactly what you used to do though?
Anyways, I'm gonna step back from this discussion. These never end well and I don't want to get banned again lol.

It does not seem to me that those who criticized the manga ever posted in the topic to talk about it, but limited themselves to posting in the thread without ever specifying what was wrong with their judgment.

But still, you can ignore them. Fandom isn't something that comes along with the series, the series itself won't be ruined or kill your enjoyment just because of a group of unbearable people and if you have critics for it, it's obvious that there will people that will oppose them, not everything is black or white.

This is not only for BC, but also for the rest of Jump manga and overall.
