Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Haikyu!! breaks aren't programmed, the series has only been on break 3 times in 8 years, 2 of those breaks happened because Furudate was traveling outside Japan and the 3rd break happened because Furudate suddenly fell ill (last week)
Do you know the situation for Black Clover and The Promised Neverland?

There should be no particular reasons behind it.

For Furudate, it is clearly said that he had an illness.

Sometime ago were posted on twitter some info about French manga. WSJ title like Dragon Ball, OP, MHA, Naruto, Neverland were popular in 2019.

Yeah, not just in 2019. Shueisha / Kodansha / others are very popular for a very long time there.
WSJ manga are the most popular, same for the rest of the world I guess !

This whole OP vs KnY was alway stupid to me. OP is like Mike Tyson, a solidified legend while KnY is the new rookie that is super hyped for a moment. Even if the rookie played better for one or two championships than Tyson, he is still not more culturally relevant.
mike tysen vs mayweather? :wooo

Act-Age cover

My god, what a fantastic cover. Shiro just kills me every week with her art.

Unlike Yonkou who is very biased and only inform about the series they like, while they ignore the rest, WSJ_Manga is being a very good, unbiased source who gives the cover not mattering what manga is there.

Yep, I'm mad about the poor treatment Yonkou gives to Act-age
Yonkou is terrible. That WSJ account is great.

Went and read the spoilers.

Damn. I guess this is really it. Uruka really won. The athletic, genki, childhood friend won a harem bowl. Again. Within 2 months. I bet Tsutsui and Negi planned this shit while drinking one day, you fucking can’t convince me otherwise. XD Color me surprised, though. None of my two surefire options won, and I’ll give WNL credit for that. To heal the pain from my Fumino ship sinking, I’ll enjoy the pain caused from Sensei’s ship sinking.
lmao I think they decided that together after a night of drinking. Too many coincidences in the story for that to not happen. XD

And yeah, I'm healing the pain with this as well :P

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Volume 19 makes 1.378.000, so that gives 1.638.305 for the backlog, which would be basically +90.000 copies for every single volume from 1 to 18. So yeah, we could say by an average, every single Kimetsu volume sold more or the same as Dr. STONE and act-age new volumes XD

That's a big first week for KNY, and to think it did something only a couple of other series were able to achieve. Also, a reminder that KNY 19 still is #1 on Shoseki so it will have a second big week.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
damn,, whatehell...

this really shows what a great adaption can do for the series.

simple and attractive setting & characters is all you need, if you are lucky.. and kimetsu is that one show that worked. just crazy ridiculous... i mean if people already get orgasm of a prologue season.. let aloooone the train arc... redlight destrict and hell the last arc. pffff

Nevermind volume 19, by the way shoseki is looking these past few days it could take the entire top 19 this time on oricon, lol.

It's like people want to constantly ignore all the great adaptations that came before and after Kimetsu because it destroys that narrative they still have. Hell Attack On Titan being #2 disproves that notion since it's first season was an absolute mess. There's just some things that can't easily be explained and this is one of those situations.

But didn't snk s1 skyrocket the manga as well? Despite its mess and that stuff.

I'll always bring Tokyo ghoul as an example, despite its horrendous adaptation, it managed to boost its manga sales.
