Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Probably right there. Kuroko sold almost 9 million copies in its peak year, and not far from that in the others, making it the second biggest in the magazine. Same with Haikyuu. I've heard the same things said about them at the time. The character designs make it more fitting at face value, but the sudden explosion of KnY and the mass influx of non magazine readers gives more ground to these theories in my opinion.
But that is my point. Fujos in the past have managed to make series big, but never ANYWHERE near this big, and Kuroko had some serious level of pandering. To claim that KnY is only big due to fujos is some serious level of delusion and coping, especially while pretending reading shonen is supposed to be some "chad hobby" when we know and we've known for years now that pretty much all series have a very close split between the two demographics nowadays.

Anyway, I'm curious. Which WSJ series (NOT including Naruto) has had really good games? One Piece games are always so meh despite the potential they have.

Guys, let's cut down on the sarcastic responses, please. This thread is for analytics of WSJ, not for mocking the opinions of users.
Fine. But only because you put your foot down as a mod.
(Sorry. Slow work day).

Dragonball, Fist of the north star and Jojo IIRC. And if you're into that I remember Jump! ultimate stars for the nds being a pretty good portable game (that never got translated, though, shame).

Act-Age did great and was pretty close to post-anime Dr.Stone.
Wonder how big could it gets with a decent anime (or live-action drama, or even theatre)

There was a dragon ball game on Nintendo ds that I played like 10 years ago. It was pretty enjoyable and fun to play. I think it was called Origin? It was with young Goku. That one and naruto games lol.

I'm a big fan of the Pirate Warriors games, but Muso isn't for everyone. Dragon Ball FighterZ is incredible, and DB gets pretty good games most of the time

Yeah the DBZ recent games have been great. They really got the feeling down of being in that universe. I'm surprised that the number of good fighting games is so low from Jump despite ALL the action series it has published over the years.

If a developer wants to make a new fighting game with lots of effort put into it, it's better to make a new IP that you completely own than license some other property that you need to licence again to do a sequel, and can't profit from toys/manga/anime/etc.

Also Bamco has the game rights to most WSJ stuff and their fighting game history is mostly in 3D fighters, and a high quality 3D fighter's gameplay like Tekken and Soul Calibur wouldn't work for an anime fighter with superpowers.

Clearly Tsutsui is now starting We Never Learn Unlimited, where Naruyuki finds himself in a totalitarian dictatorship and becomes a strategist for the resistance.
... Is it weird that I kinda want to see this now?

He'd be good at it.

WNL going for another volume's worth of chapters kinda surprises me, but I getting an epilogue is nice, even if I feel that an extra 10-11 chapters is probably a little more than necessary. I was convinced it was ending first, but now I wonder what will end first out of WNL, TPN, KnY, and Yuuna. They all seem so close to the end.
Did we have a poll about this yet?

Maybe throw HQ in there for good measure, they did say it was the last arc.

I mean, it's not like this means all the projects are cancelled. We're still gonna get the info, just not at animejapan
Yeah, I forgot. I meant to say in March. I'm honestly wondering what all those new announcements were.

jump Ultimate stars was a great game, I played it for hundreds of hours... But the best aspect of it was its online so I wouldn't recommend it now that it's closed.

The new Captain Tsubasa game looks pretty cool if you are into soccer.

I'm definitely intrigued by the new Tsubasa game. They do need to make that running animation better tho. Seems so off.

I dunno, considering how Tsubasa's characters look, how a weird running animation seems downright appropriate.

I am fucking dreading the escalation this weeks chapter is gonna cause...
Honestly, bringing up there Twitter bums is worse than bringing up the YouTubers. These people live sad miserable lives, don't give them the attention they sorely desire.
