I really can't understand how Jump editorial department doesn't make this completely obligatory to every single series that starts serialization.

So the KnY reprints boost has started to kick off on March 2 and Vol.19 is at #19 .
Interesting to see how many it will sell for this week.

Jesus, all 19 of KnY volumes at the top 19 yet again, likely another 2 million this week then... KnY beating OP's record by midyear seems incredibly likely now, with more reprints this month (17th-19th march) and now another batch in april, then the may volume 20 release.

This is something I've been thinking, how do we cut off the leaks? I understand why some places get Jump early, but at this point Jump surely have identified the cause of the leaks. Logically, they would be releasing chapters digitally as soon as the printing's done, but that potentially hurts physical sales of the magazine, which, for some reason Nakano is insistent on, despite knowing that digital sales are rising each year.

Most shops get the magazine early (at least on the mainland, far away islands often get it later), it's not as easy as saying 'this place gets it early so they're leaking it.'

It's very hard to find which specific shop of 1000s is leaking the magazines since they're mostly getting the magazines shipped at the same time. They did catch some, the group Red Hawk for example stopped a few years back because the police caught their source of leaked magazines (I think it was them at least), and I think MangaPanda's leaker got caught too (which ended the old naruto/bleach/OP speedscan competition).

Volume 2 of Mitama is now officially on "usually ships within 1 to 3 weeks" status on Amazon, so it looks like people are moving through copies and they couldn't just pick some up from a local distributor (meaning they're likely selling well there, too), so we might actually be moving towards a Mitama volume 2 reprint to match Yozakura's volume 1 reprint.

Edit: seems volume 2 of Mitama is pushing a few more sales through for volume 1 (as one would expect), so that's also quite nice.

digital market is rising sure, but digital manga magazines is only 4% of overall manga magazine sales (in 2018, 2019 report should be out...whenever someone figured out it is out

And printed magazine sales keep going down. If people didn't migrate to digital, does it mean those people just stop reading the magazine all together?

I think more and more ppl are started to buy the reprints one week after the reprint date. The current reprints (except Vol.19) were issued last week on Feb 26 and 27. And starting on this week's Monday (March 2), much more ppl are going to the bookstores to buy them.
