Guidelines

  • Characters are to be chosen from any video game.
  • It'is up to you to define what is "hot". It sn’t just about abs, or pretty faces (though those help). It could also be about presence, charisma, voice if applied, attitude, and that aura that makes a character unforgettable.You’re free to define “hot” however you want, elegant, dangerous, soft, confident, mysterious, … as long as they made you feel something.
  • Characters from 18+ games are not allowed. Please keep it appropriate.
  • Honorable mentions are allowed.
  • If you want to add comments/explanations, I will gladly add them in the countdown.
  • As long as deadline is not reached, you can change your lists as much as you want.
  • Please, rank your top following the usual format :
1 - 10 pts
2- 9 pts
3- 8pts
4- 7pts

- Are anime manga characters like Bulma or Nami or Comics/Marvel and such characters, eligible?
There are plenty of games that are adapted from manga/animes, technically they are video game characters, but we just had an anime/manga characters round, I believe if possible, I prefer players to avoid nominating characters coming from original manga/anime medium ( I am aware that sometimes it's hard to tell, like in Pokemon /fate series, I believe game came out 1st). I have accepted last round maybe some characters that were coming potentially from anime adapted from original video games, though.​



- I want to join but, I know nothing about video games.
The host knows almost nothing about games, however, she managed to make a list so don't worry if she could do a list, anyone can do ! It's about hotness character round, you don't need to have any game prior knowledge, you only have to pick the ones you like,it can help to no for sure but not a requirement. If you don't know any games, you can check out the popular licenses Wikia ( such as Genshin Impact, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Street fighters, League of Legends, Pokemon, etc.) You can check characters in previous mafia games' video games themes to help you :​





- Is there any restriction regarding game eligibility?
You can't nominate several times the same character from different games, if you want, for example, to nominate Link from Zelda, just specify the one you want to feature, I will count only one Link. Otherwise, you can nominate any character from any video game, be it an older game or newer, online or consoles, any kind of game works. Though please, nominate only humanoid characters (pokemon, monsters, animals are not eligible, elfs, androids etc are allowed) and avoid nominating a minor character, like an onlooker, like this:​

Included Re:Zero in this mainly because it carried a big weight on the show. The adaptation as a whole wasn't very accurate but the music was damn powerful and special, so the sountrack being one of the main reasons for it to stand above the rest automatically made it deserve to be in my list.

Season 1 of OPM had such a great soundtrack. Too bad they changed the composer to S2 - that music was just bland and boring. Didn't get me hyped nor amused, unlike S1.

It pained me to cull Totoro from my list.

Digimon is fun pick! Should look into SM Crystal as well now, since they apparently corrected some of the shitty animation for the blurays.

OPM's was indeed nice, the metal style set the mood perfectly. Tokyo Ghoul's is fantastic aswell, tho :re's sucked.

Hyouka's sountrack was cute, Re:Creators was nice tho a bit short on versatility, there's better of Sawano imo.

GITS: SAC was the very last one I cut from my list. Ergo Proxy almost made it too... both very prominent honorable mentions for me.

Totoro is undeniably epic, but there are actually quite a few Ghibli OSTs I like more.

The BECK OST is actually what made me not watch the series - the music was just nowhere as good as the idea of it in my head when reading the manga. But that's a common risk with music manga/anime.

The Moomin OST is overly cutesy at times, but besides possibly Mushishi I still haven't encountered another OST which has just filled me with that much philosophic melancholy just through its atmospheric sound and composition alone. The production might be a bit dated but I can still hum every tune by heart and overall it's almost ridiculous how good a job the music does at creating exactly the feeling a scene demands. The philosophical scenes are deeper, the scary scenes scarier, the cutesy scenes more whimsical. It's everything an OST should be.

And obviously this has nothing to do with the fact that I've heard it regularly since I was zero years old.. :cookiehand
