@Nii i had no idea that Shirou was your fav

Yeah, I just think he's a really fascinating char. I know many consider him dumb, and he has some meme status quotes thanks to... multiple factors, but my impression is that VN readers usually have a much higher opinion of Shirou. The anime sadly doesn't cover most of his inner thoughts, and I think that's crucial to really understand him.

But for the most part, I love his journey from the Fate route, to Unlimited Blade Works, and then to Heavens Feel. I know it's basically three different stories, but seeing them all play out after each other in the Visual Novel was amazing. I guess that's what actually makes me put him on top of my list, because we got to learn the most about him and are a part of his journey as he grows as a person (whether you think those changes are good or not). That's just not something you can experience with the anime in my eyes, sadly.

But anyway, Fate has a lot of great chars, so it wa really hard for me haha

Very understandable. But there are so many deserving that didn't get any love at all. The true champion was crowned but we still could have done much better.

That's the Shirou for the whole Visual Novel Jammin, he didn't get seperated among routes bc in the end it's more or less the same char just with different character development. Hope you're a bit more understanding when you read what I wrote in response to Valhalla

Forgot to comment about the top picks. Can't say I'm surprised at all, they're mostly Fate/Zero chars and Fate/Zero is still the most-watched and most-loved Fate anime, and there are good reasons for that.

Iskandar and Kiritsugu are very good picks in my eyes, as is Saber Rin is a good char too, but honestly feels overrated to me. Maybe she's that popular because she's the most "normal" character, and your typical tsundere (which many people really like : D). She's the least fav of the 3 Fate/Stay Night Heroines to me, but I'm still okay with her winning this. Guess I made her win with summoning Jammin and Demonspeed here (I expect @syx to bitch about this until eternity...)

I don't think I get your point here. FGO is just one of many other mediums which can delve into a character. There is no need for a character to be featured in every single medium in order to judge them (of course we want that, but that's not the point here). Don't know why an appearance in a game is worth less than in a manga or anime.

Shirou was in many of my draft-lists, but didn't make it in the end, because of my brain losing to my heart. If we are really frank, then Okita Alter shouldn't have been considered at all by me. That goes for Okita and Nobu as well to some degree. I only saw both of them in Fate/type Redline which has not even 10 chapters. Granted, they are amazing there so far, but Shirou from Heaven's Feel and Kaleid (Miyu's brother) delivered more as of now.

Achillies has a way better character arc though.

I love Apocrypha but one of it's failing is that it assumes the audience knows Achillies' story. Because his character arc with Atalanta is terrific with how it works with the illiad with his pride and the death of Patroclus.

Apocrypha has a lot of flaws, still better than Stay Night and UBW though. And yes without any pre-knowledge like that most of Achilles‘ character falls flat. Anime-only Chiron is way more likable and even has a lot more screentime and plot impact. Even saving Achilles from being bit by Vlad. Best character of the anime.

Not easy to do, i feel its not exactly right, there s amazing dishes in every country, not having tasted them doesnt make the ones we know necessarily better.

Google doesn't really work on that. It is popular on wide area, and many countries are ready to claim baklava is originally from them. Closest real answer would be that is from Osman Empire.

I think the latter option is best.
