Thanks for your answer. I think Natsu can't enter into Dragon Force at will without any circonstance. He must have 2 factors :
- 1 : a burning rage at his climax
- 2 : a circonstance that make him enrage that way (when he fought Mard Geer, he enraged seeing Grey's sacrifice to memento mori and so didn't want fail Igneel's mission which gave him all of the 14 years answering // climax burning aginst Zeleph who wanted to erase his world, erasing everyone he loves)
- 3 : a vast amont of Fire elemental absorbed like Etherion or Jellal's flame.
So I don't think he can tap in it at will alone without the 1 and 2 ways like Wendy.
All out and without Potential emotional powers, I think Gildarts and Erza are on the same level. Mashima gave us a parallel during Arbaless : August is the strongest of the Spriggan. No, you must take the strongest woman in account, that her power rival his own as un wizard. I think, he made the parallel for Gildarts, the strongest man and Erza, the strongest woman. They are evenly match.
to complete this parallel, Eileen is the strongest "wizard" but can tap into a far more power scale where can't compete August. The Dragon Form gave her a great boost of her enchants and her body's capacities skyrocket in no comparaison, the same way the potential of Erza skyrocket when her people are about to die and she wants to sacrifice herself to save everyone, making her momentaly unstoppable.
So, in my opinion, Gildarts and Erza without potential power.
August and Eileen have same portrayal. Which means, it's dragon Eileen who's August tier. Human Eileen is much weaker, she's up there in magic power but weak in stats
Full power Erza would've lost to Ajeel without help, and a healthier Erza than who fought Eileen lost to Neinhart. An injured Erza actually overwhelmed human Eileen solo (after Wendy was out cold). This basically shows us what I mentioned earlier, human Eileen is not August level in stats other than magic power. She'd get rekt by August, since he'd just nullify all her attacks and use it against her. But dragon Eileen has superior physical stats, which would provide challenge to Augsut.
The moment Eileen went dragon form, she rekt Erza. And, Erza would've lost, id Erza didn't get slayer magic. This is an indication of what would've happened if Erza fought August.
Think about it. Jellal, who has portrayal on or above Erza, was completely stomped by August. Even though he had help from his guild. The same would happen to Erza as well.
Gildarts actually matched August in physical combat, before August used meteor. He even got a hit or two IIRC. Of course Gildarts couldn't do any damage apart from the one attack he used with prosthetic arms, but that's because the guy is immune to caster magic.
Gildarts is far above Erza, don't even see how it's debatable here.
IMO: Gildarts would low-mid diff Erza.
