Wow, It's been so long since I've last heard "Jujutsu" and "News" together without it being a meme. I'm happy for Jujutsu and I hope it goes well, also looking forward to seeing the cover this week. My hope is that they'll do a Jujutsu version of what they did with KNY.

anyway, mathematically speaking,

for 20+SE to be 2M+ combined

shoseki have to be off by 13.1k using naive counting (30th is actually 44.8k on oricon, and everything the same)

or by about 11.4k using 10% range of top to bottom (higher range will result in more sales since more above 30)


anyway, shoseki will be different from oricon obviously
how much, who knows,

Goshozono Shouta and Nakayama Ryu are going to work on Jujutsu Kaisen. They are really talented animators that have experience with action, Goshozono having worked on stuff like FGO and Nakayama on Black Clover. If the rest of the staff is just as blessed, we're in for a treat (fingers crossed for more FGO animators, especially Yamamoto Ken). Their talents coupled with Park's direction should deliver.

If it was truly a stock issue, I don't think it would have stayed at #1 shoseki the entire week (we've seen that happen before). Plus the initial print is 2.8 M. Seems like fw sales are a lot lower than that.

Its been out of stock on Amazon, Honto, Rakuten, Animate etc since the first day, the special edition also got reprints announced during it's first day iicrc, how can you say it doesn't have any stock issues when almost every bookstore in Japan says otherwise?

My only complaint is about Suwabe. The guy is seriously overused, especially in Shonen Jump adaptations.

I’m probably missing more, but I’m tired of his voice, haha.

Edit: Decided to check his roles for the hell of it, and oh man...
I have no doubts that no voice actor has been in more Shonen Jump adaptations than him. This blows my mind. Gintama, One Piece, Naruto, World Trigger, Medaka Box, Assassination Classroom...

Shoseki has the KNY backlog really high, unless they are drunk as heck this week I would even lower that 1.6mln fw to 1.4-1.5mln actually, definitely a lot lower than I thought but let's wait for oricon.

So actually, looking back here, I think I was a bit off on the prediction. The average volume would need to have sold 70k this week for it to be 1.4mln, which seems too high, even assuming shoseki is correct. I think 1.6mln-1.7mln is a fairer estimation, again, assuming shoseki is indeed correct. However...

The situation with KnY 20 is a bit bizarre, but it's not like shoseki hasn't overtracked it before (just last week they had every volume about arslan, but arslan was #1 on the oricon chart). Assuming they did and the volumes are closer to the 40-60k ballpark, 1.8mln-1.9mln is a possible number. So basically, wait and see, but 1.4mln was definitely too far on the low end from me, I think.

God fucking damn. I wish we heard about more digital sales like this, lmao.

I mean tbf, the Naruto character he voiced was a filler character and the Gintama character he voiced was a really minor character that makes a few rare appearances. As for Assassination Classroom, he was just voicing Karasuma in the Jump Festa OVA from 2013. He wasn't part of the cast for the actual anime adaptation from 2015.

Personally, I think there's a difference between voicing minor characters and voicing major characters who appear frequently throughout a series or play a big role during some arcs.
