Anyone have any guesses what that trap the sniper girl talked about is going to be? Considering how Hwa Ryun planned their escape before the war and Sophia was saying things must be getting serious soon for a guide to be this cautious.
A warp gate to send in more troops would be my first guess. If that is hooked up to allow particularly potent foes -- like Lo PoBia himself or Adori and her troops -- then that would definitely explain the near panic around this, and why the consideration of an immediate escape is both possible and planned.
Next idea is related to the "stored treasure". The stored treasure may include a number of in-stasis warriors (or creatures?) just waiting to be freed, like at the Wall of Peaceful Coexistence. If these were suddenly freed, it would create quite a potential panic. Personally, I think the prior idea is much more fitting. The "stored treasure" is not likely -- in my opinion -- to be accessible in this manner. (But perhaps this is what Maschenny is planning on .... Hmm... )
Final thought would be a kind of directed gravity-well trap -- something that can be used to suck in a bunch of people and keep them in stasis. However, this is much more speculative, and does not seem to fit with Hwa Ryun's planning or EVK's reaction. If they had something like this, then attempting an immediate escape may not be feasible.
So, those are my three guesses -- in order of preference.
Regarding the speculation of a "Death Flag" on Evankhell: I definitely think it fits. The story introduced a planned "immediate escape route". I will bet a shiny new nickel that this escape will in fact be used. (It's a very *shiny* nickel! Anyone want to take up my bet??). Since the escape route will be used, it means that they will need to flee with great haste, and that means implies that Evankhell may be there to slow the threat. She has always wanted to face an "impossible opponent," and it seems that this is what is likely to come from whatever trap has been set.
While I really like Evankhell, this is simply what seems likely to me. The death-flag fits. We've received all of the background information that we needed to tell her story, and it would be fitting that the "cost" of Baam getting his old teacher back would be to sacrifice his current teacher. .... Still .... I don't think that she is guaranteed to die: SIU may still save her regardless. We will see...
