Stivie, you're repeating yourself now.

I don't mind you all discussing TPGW, but repeating arguments verbatim is where I draw the line.

You've made your point. It's time to move on (this applies to others as well).
Sorry, Tirakai was repeating the same arguments so I thought it would be better to repeat it too.

MHA should already be halfway through Volume 28 chapter-wise. The weird thing is 27 is taking so long to come out.
He was due out this month, but was postponed until July

How? What do you mean? If I recall, those two were the biggest Fujo franchises back in the 2000s.
Most of the fan art is nothing but Chris. Which really says alot.

If that doesn't scream "Fujo", I don't know what does.

Who exactly do people want Sasaki to admit the time machine to? He already tried Aino and she didn't believe him. If he tried the rest of his assistants or anyone on the editorial department they'd probably tell him to work on chapter 1 instead of making up new stories. Could anyone honestly say if you read the apparently greatest manga of all time and suddenly the author told you they didn't write it but their microwave and fridge fused and spit out a copy of Shonen Jump from 10 years into the future and you just copied it you would take that seriously and not think it's just another story idea?

I don’t think a manga where most of the fanart is nothing but the guy who looks like a girl would scream “fujoshi”, unless the other three guys are also really popular and get fanart.

If people were complaining I have no idea.
But that did not cause death note to be canceled with 3 volumes.
Because Light was interesting.

Like I said before, the MC doesn't need to be likable, but he needs to make people want to follow his story. Death Note probably would've had a fanbase even if both sides were total scumbags, simply because the mental schemes were so fascinating.

TPGW does not have that (so far). It's just one guy crying over one decision, and not getting anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be cancelled (I still think it's by far the best of the batch), but I don't want it to stay stuck in the same place either. Dude needs to man up and come out already.

This only strengthens the narrative that Light is more evil than Teppei, and that criticism of plagiarism is childish.
Manga aside, what you are doing here is known as a Fallacy of relative privation (also known as "appeal to worse problems" or "not as bad as" fallacy). You are basically saying that, if something isn't the absolute worst thing in the world, we aren't allowed to complain about it.

Please don't do this. Plagiarism is a real crime. Someone whose hard work got stolen doesn't want to hear "Well, all your effort was wasted and you're out of an income, but at least you weren't murdered, so it's childish to complain about it." Just don't.

Doesn't 'fujo' require at least two male characters?

I don't think TPGW's author is necessarily trying to make us sympathize with Teppei, specially after this week's chapter. Even though his situation is difficult and he's making it worse at each action he takes, he's already becoming a nuisance to other people. I don't sympathize with him, and that doesn't make the series less interesting to me.

I understand people who are not liking the series because of Teppei's character, but I don't think this is a demerit to the series. I want to know how he'll handle, solve or worsen the situation, and that makes me want to keep following it. I also think Aino becoming his assistant is interesting and brings a lot of potential situations.

I know that the first chapters are the most important for a new series, as it have to get the attention of a group, but maybe the focus of the series is not the time machine or whatever, but Teppei making mistakes and having to deal with it. His first ordeal was to deal with his own guilty (and he's failing miserably), I believe he'll have to deal with with other people very soon. And that's where I think the author have to really nail it, because if the conflict only stay inside Teppei's head, the series will get stale and go nowhere.

Plagiarism complaints are still small compared to death note. Plagiarism is a crime but genocide is much worse and death note was a success.
you are judging very superficially as if the manga just talked about plagiarism and not so black and white.
We don't even know if it wasn't Future Aino who sent the jump to Teppei to do the white Knight in the present so that the manga is published, if it is, then it is not plagiarism.

And even if he shows her the manga at present, it doesn't mean that she'll believe it.

they seem to disappear though. The whole reason he thought he dreamed the series in the first place is the issue was gone when he woke up.

"This manga is new. There are only X chapters. It's too early to criticise its narrative. Your complaints will be addressed in future chapters."
This is the worst defence one could use - future assumption.
We live in the present, we analyse and criticise the current existing chapters. We don't live in your fantasy future where the manga is flawless and absolute perfect.
And the future is a two-edged sword. It could turn all rosy and pretty like your fantasy. Or, the author is a bonobo banging their heads on a keyboard, releasing nothing but dumpster fire garbage.

There were people who thought UxU was rubbish in the first 4 or 5 chapters and after chapter 8 they started to flee with more interest.
It's not a bad excuse, it's just the truth.

What's about people who think s8 is garbage after its first chapter, no, its first panel.

But that doesn't invalidate the criticisms people had for UxU early on. The sexual assault stuff WAS scummy. The series just had really awesome world building so everyone mostly started overlooking the previous criticisms.

Some boys/men love jokes and memes about characters who are guys but looks exactly like girls, good example is Asfalto from Fate series. I dropped Agravity Boys but I guess that kind of audience target Chris. But I think feminine looking boys can be pretty appealing to some fujos good example is Lio Fiota from Promare this series it/was pretty popular with fujo demographic.

But I don't say it invalidates, just use it as an example.

There was a more plausible reason for hating S8 than in Time paradox.

There are plenty of series in Jump where people have said “I didn’t enjoy this arc reading it it weekly, but once the entire arc was out and I read it in one sitting it was a lot better”.
So saying it’s “too early” is a totally valid argument, especially considering the the series.

Yes, it’s fair to judge the series week by week. But if say, TPGW leads up to something by the end of Volume 1 that pays off the criticisms everyone’s had thus far. Then reading the entire volume in 1 sitting would be a better experience than waiting for a new chapter every week.

The same argument works vice versa. There are plenty of series in these Jump threads over the year where everyone will like the 1st 1-3 chapters of a new series, but remain cautious. Saying “it’s too early to say this series will be a success. I’m loving this now, but it could still easily go down hill”.
