Wasn't it more because of damage caused by Gaara then by the Gates if I'm not wrong

Unsure - Lee's muscles snapped and his bones broke, mid fight, solely due to the stress caused by opening gate 5 (I think they might even have been beginning to break apart by gate 4...)

Just opening the first gate, for a brief moment, left Lee physically exhausted, so he couldn't dodge Gaara for a bit (whilst he got himself back together)

The only one that was showing to have actually drawback seems to be Gate 9 8 but as you said Naruto interference neglected it

I believe it was stated that opening the gates would put huge stress on the body - the increased strain leading to the tearing of muscles/breaking of bones/etc.

It was hinted to be the kind of ability that you'd only use in a pinch (not as a routine technique) - as it was, as Kakashi put it, a 'double edged sword' (wasn't he even shocked that Gai would be so reckless to teach Lee it [during the fight with Gaara]?)

Maybe true, but honestly thats the case of 99% of the characters of the series, noone for exple never mention about Hiruzen ( i do like him hes on my list too, might change though thinking about it) people are calling Tobirama nazi, but what did Hiruzen do, how did he deal with the whole uchiha thing ?





The series was not meant to go that far, i think everything past pain attacking Konoha, was additional. Heres an interview of Kishi and one of his editor (last part), who coincidentally stopped working with Kishi just after Itachi's death when Sasuke got mangekyo. its strongly implied that the series was pretty much over at this point. Kishi got a new editor and its precisely at this moment the series take a wrong turn (not saying everything was wrong after that but it has been stretched beyond necessary to the point to ruin everything, and yeah edo tensei was a huge mistake imo) my guess is that whats was originally planned after jiraya& itachi death, was something like, konoha vs akatsuki with an iconic fight sasuke vs Naruto, but well...

Yeah, I don't really believe him honestly. This is sort of like all those interviews where he says "Oh, so and so was planned out all along." My reaction to that tends to be "You lying bastard.".

Like if the plan had been to do the Hinata thing. Wouldn't it have made sense to actually include Hinata in the story? Have Naruto and her interact? Same for Sasuke and Sakura. I don't believe he had a plan other than throw stuff on the walls and see what sticks.
