So if S8 had been drawn by Kishi, you think the series would have survived?
Hard to predict with Jump higher expectations for it but it would had definitely sell quite better with Kishi doing everything because it would be 100% him which would make more hardcore Naruto fans check it out and support, it's like Edens Zero that was mocked a lot for being "just Fairy Tail in space" in the beginning but it ended up selling over 100k copies in the first volume, because in the end still 100% Mashima, which guaranteed that a good part of his fanbase would check it and support.

The expectations are probably a lot different for Ayakashi Triangle too.

Samurai 8 was expected to be the next major hit and a massive new pillar from the start since Naruto was such a massive series, but Yabuki has always been a solid mid-magazine kind of guy. I can't imagine jump expect it to be an instant 100k+ seller or new future face of the magazine like they seemed to be expecting from Samurai 8.

I can see Bone Collection getting a middle rank for its first chapter since almost every series over the last couple years lands in that range its first week, but I think it'll decline quickly afterwards. However, I voted bottom 5 solely because that's where I think it should go.

I'd argue bone collection never 'got bad'. It's been consistent with its quality (good or bad). Everything presented in chapter 1 is exactly the same as the chapters that proceeded. Boob jokes, MC pairing dynamic and goofy action sequences.

People in the comments of viz/manga plus probably projected their expectations onto it.

Damn those Mashle and Undead rises, did stores get more in stock or something? Mashle definitely going to have a 3rd week on Shoseki, and maybe Undead will too at this rate, less likely for Yozakura.

I'm really trying to find out why I'm about 300 off in "Weekly Sales 2020". I went back to check every single weekly charts to do that excel sheet and I'm off somehow.

Week 13 should be 3,010,605.

There should be some wrong data in December and January but I'm too lazy to go that back lol.

If CSM follows the same proportion of week 1 (of roughly 67% of the series sales being from volume 7), this means that Volume 7 should have reached nearly 150k copies, it should die off at around 160-170k copies by the end of week 4.
This means that CSM have a real chance of being not only a first-week 100k seller on the next volume aswell as a member of the 200k club.

It looks like shonen jump has won the majority of the competitions only losing the second one.
It’s crazy how spy x family is doing better than every main line jump series made 2019 and after.
Looking at this art makes me really want an anime adaptation soon.

Mieruko-chan got 7th place? Hell yeah! Anime when? <3
SpyxFamily success without an anime is just crazy, it's selling so much and it keeps grabbing prices left and right (though I am not sure what the price Koni mentioned was about - best dressed male character? XD), like hasn't volume 1 sold over a million by now?

Jigokuraku not making the list is depressing :emocat
I think once it gets an anime adaptation (if the anime adaptation is good) it will get a massive boost in popularity and may even sale as much as shonen jump hugest titles. I would say the best animation studios for this is production ig, wit, or ufotable (last one probably won’t happen but there’s no need in not having hope).

I think both Jigokuraku and Summertime Render will get a lot more attention if they get an Anime.
