For Madara, I'll say I did quite enjoy him in action. The dude was battle crazy, taking on the army, dropping meteors, fighting without eyes, capturing all the tailed beasts pretty easily. Also, dropped some epic quotes

Yes he had them cheat codes and never was able to surpass Hashi until he went absolutely overboard . But hey I think he pulled it off well for the most part.

But to me, I think it says a lot that I preferred Obito masquerading as him over him

I am not the biggest fan of his. But there are probably much worse out there.

@Demonspeed Karin had better reasons for loving Sasuke than Sakura, it just worked.
Also we had this moment in the war which was really badass

Ignore the horrific animation.

She's also the only character to give Sasuke crap about his actions without being made villainous for it, and the only person Sasuke actually apologize to.

If Uchihas aren't in power they disproportionately rebel and wage war and generally be a pain in the ass. This is a highly unfortuante historical fact.

Kishi retconned in a mistrust of Uchihas, which didn't exist originally as can be seen in Sasuke's treatment pre-shippuden and we'll get to that when Sasuke comes around, but in a spectacular bit of narrative malpractice. That retconned mistrust was proved to be almost entirely well placed. In fact, if the Uchiha clan had been genocided not only would it not have perpetuated a cycle of hatred as Kishi intended to suggest. It would have prevented countless deaths.

This is one of the many reasons why the end parts of Naruto are a giant steaming pile of shit.

At the end of the series, I was never sure whether we were suppose to actually believe that there ever was an actual coup in the works. We were never shown any firsthand examples, and all the characters who claim the Uchiha were planning a coup were all shown untrustworthy and with their own bias. Even Itachi ended up questionable, being said to be acting to protect the village but then being said to be willing to allow the village to be destoryed if any harm came to Sasuke... Doesn't help that the single flashback we got involved the suppose leader surrendering just so his son would be spared... you would think that if holding Sasuke's life hostage like that was so effective, there wouldn't have been any need to wipe them all out. Not to mention, why wipe ALL of them out, and not just the more dangerous members. Then there's the question of why they even stuck around the village when they had their own fortress or why they would be alone in said coup? That's not even getting into how the rest of Konoha would manage against an internal attack. There's just so many loose threads when it came to that plot.

It just seemed like the implication was suppose to be that there was a conspiracy that was inevitable, and the best they could do was save a single life.

I will try to keep it as short as possible. I have told you that there are three characters I consider the worst in anime/manga history. Obito is one of them. And here we have the second one, Uchiha Madara. So, who is Uchiha Madara you might ask?

When I look at him, I see two kind of persons. Two of which 99% of you have encountered in your live.

The one person is that guy who blatantly uses every possible cheat in a game against you, defeats you, and boasts how great he is in the most disgusting way imaginable.

And now for the other.

The other person is that one guy who blatantly uses every possible cheat in a game against you, but is still unable to best you.

Madara is always one of these two. Always. No grey area. Nothing inbetween.

An utter, boring, dull, selfish villain who rode his own dick more often than all por-- let me stop here.

A villain who should have no right to exist in any work. He took all the major Ls there are in the manga and couldn't accomplish anything on his own. His drive, motivation, and reasonings would give those of President Trump a run for his money. He is a freaking laughing stock. A failure as a villain, as a character, literally at everything.

Retrospectively speaking, he - hand in hand with Obito - completely annihilated this once masterpiece of a series.

I was honestly expecting more.
Indeed, selfish villain who wanted world peace. Because who wants tht ? let's fight. Because having to kill for money, religion, art is more important . How dare he take away the aspirations of people killing people and kekkai genkai shinobi being discriminated against ?
U need to turn emo and get hell bent on revenge to be a very satisfying villain or develop nukes to put people into submission. U simply shld not allow a person to ever live happily in their dream and pass peacefully. I completely agree with u syx. He shld have been caught in some revenge plot, with sad story, trying to kill tobirama, which he easily could have, but instead prepared plans to bring world peace.
No matter how misguided his methods was, his goal was not.

Let's not downplay tht he absorbed hashirama dna , because multiple others tried and failed very miserably at it. Konoha even wanted hashirama dna copy, so they had initially started the implants, but with failure rates, they had to stop and oorochimaru continued in secret.

And if u want to blame for receiving those powers, then let's not forget each and every shinobi on earth originated after hagoromo shared his chakra for ninshuu and even hagoromo owes tht power to his mother kaguya and juubi. So, basically, in ur words.each and every shinobi is using cheat code and bragging abt their own power, when it is not.

I guess we just fundamentally disagree about the amount of power/respect running the police force gives you


Not knowing the non-manga material anywhere near as much as you do, it's hard to say for certain; but I don't recall any of the Hyuuga being in any high-ranking leadership positions (and if they were, I'm sure that it'd be possible to find another clan who missed out on being chosen for this kind of responsibility).
Perhaps they'd also be justified in plotting a violent overthrowal of Konohagakure?


Unfortunately, if you want to try and generate this kind of story twist then you need to have better writing than was shown. It isn't possible to justify any of it, if nothing was [even slightly] adequately depicted in the manga source material.

One or two panels from one or two people just doesn't cut the mustard

Point is there was no decree for hyuuga not being allowed to village core. There was a decree against uchiha sespite being one of the founders.

I do agree, he shld have included more material in mainstream manga than in novels and declaring it as canon later.

Also remember when the Byakugan was talked about like it was on the level with the Sharingan? One of the three great doujutsu and all that? The Rinnegan, the Sharingan, and the... Byakugan. Yup, all completely equal. No power disparity there at all.

Byakugan has mutation of Tenseigan and Jogan, which is on par with rinnegan or even surpassing it in some case. + for main manga, kaguya had byakugan based skills , through which she just broke sussano way easily than hashirama's shinsuu senju , but since she is kinda plot device, i don't consider her feats much.

She's also the only character to give Sasuke crap about his actions without being made villainous for it, and the only person Sasuke actually apologize to.

Haha, I thought I was the only one who remembered this. And yep, Sasuke's apology to Karin also seemed more genuine imo. The Sakura one was like "Lemme just get this out of the way so the plot can go on".

Thought Naruto would make it to top 5 at least. My biggest problem with him as a character is how boring his fighting style is. Also the S06P stuff was meh, but that has already been mentioned earlier.

The Sasuke obsession in P.2 did drop him a bit. But, He had his moments, mastering sage mode, rasenshuriken, and simply carrying the shinobi world.

I like naruto bar tht obsession of sasuke , even in part 1.
I disliked how he bowed and cried for him > nevertheless, he had his moments, especially tht entry in konoha post shinra tensei of pain. Or him getting kyuubi mode and full KCM too. The combo attacks against obito with minato, tobirama and sasuke.

And tht team 7 nonsense was so not needed in the fight against kaguya in final moments.

I quite like Naruto, or at least want to, which is why he's on my list. But the Sasuke obession and the real failure to grow the character hurts him pretty badly. Like I'll always remember when he tried to convince the cloud shinobi to forgive Sasuke. And one of them was like "Tell you what, after I kill Sasuke you can forgive me." In that moment Kishi lamp shaded the exact problem Naruto always had. All that "turn the other cheek" ninja Jesus stuff was it always there to justify something he wanted. His ideals and mentality were never tested in any real way aside from maybe Nagato.

If somebody killed Sasuke I always thought that would have been a much more compelling opportunity for his character because we'd have to see him deal with the other side of the equation. But it never happened. Kishi ran from everything like that.

But even with those flaws Naruto had a lot of individual moments that were really good. So that's why I put him at #5. He's a glorious mess but there was good there.

I already questioned some stuff almost two weeks ago, but it appears that people either didn't get what I meant or couldn't get it because they didn't finish Naruto (like you for example). But for the sake of the game/fun/flow which we have here, this should be discussed later on. Not that it would change things, since well... as I said -> who am I to judge? To each her/his own.
