Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Those tweets don't really deserve a "yikes" though? They're incredibly vague and could just be referring to some general touch ups or maybe a track or two that exclusively appears in the last few episodes of Part 2.

General touch-ups seem more likely though:

Don't get me wrong, the schedule of Season 4 was already tight (and COVID certainly didn't help), but this tells us nothing about the current state of the production. Since many of the pushed back shows are getting new airdates, I wouldn't be surprised if we got it in a few issues.
why would they be touch up when the people say *first day of recording*

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It still doesn't give us the complete picture of the soundtrack's current state though. This new cour is still a part of Season 4 and will share a lot the already completed OST that Part 1 had, all that's left might be a few tracks that couldn't be recorded due to COVID safety precautions (and touch ups might also be included in this recording session, you never know).

Anyway, there's not a direct correlation between music and animation production. The work done by Hayashi and co. isn't fully dependent on storyboards/key animation like it is for other creative teams on the production.

Mashle is doing much better than any other newbie since Chainsaw Man, glad to see an enjoyable series gain a lot of praise and rise in popularity. I am looking forward to see how volume 2 fares in August, hopefully we can see it in Oricon.

Everytime I see Mashle is still in the shoseki rankings, it makes me really happy. Kinda hard to believe how stable the series is.

Nice to see Mashle still in the top 500. Any predictions for the first month sales?

People seem to really like the OPxHarry Potter combination. 30k for the first volume in the first month is great. I really wanna see now the sales for Moriking, Magu-chan and TPG but that still gonna take some time before we see them. I wanna see them mostly to have a comparison with all the newcomers this year, their first position, their first week sale, their average position, their total sale and so on. Ofc I would let other more qualified mh members do the honors of making a chart of them all once the numbers are out.^^

With these last week estimations, we can call MASHLE the record-slayer from all newbies. Highest first-week estimations, the first series to ever get estimations in 4 weeks, first-ever to surpass 30.000 copies in estimations, and all of that achieved with Volume 1. Pretty excited about its Volume 2, which may have high chances of ranking in Oricon luckily.

Man, seeing Mitama sales just makes me sad. Even AB sold more in 3 days than any of Mitama's volumes did. Sure it is not as bad as Guardian of the Witch or Zipman who only sold a couple hundred but still not good. UU's growth is a nice pace, if it can keep that, it will be able to run for quite some time. Youakura's growth is modest but it is there and with so many newcomers having yet to sell I see no reason why WSJ would end it, especially when they got candidates like Mitama and Agravity Boys around. Will be interesting to see which one WSJ will put on the chopping block. I give both of them like a month, maybe 6 weeks at most but at some point one of them will move on to the manga-afterlife.
Though given what I heard about the controversy about TPG in Japan... I expected it to be a 20k seller with its first volume and I know I shouldn't give much about Internet rumors and "polls" but it doesn't look like it is as well received as I expected it to be over there. If things go really bad for it, it might also not be in there for the long run.

I want to know how Mashle sales compared to Samurai 8.

I remember that Samurai 8 started with decent sales (although its positions in the TOC were bad). It will be good to compare to know what WSJ think about Mashle sales.

25,518 copies in its first week (7 days).
Thank you.

25k copies with such an insanely large promotion, sneek-peaks of it added in all other series, so much advertising everywhere and like somewhere between 100k-300k printed volumes for first volume is not decent, it is a total disaster from which it never recovered.
