The first had serious pacing issues and while the other was solid despite the length I found the final fight underwhelming.

I find it very underrated tbh. Maybe it's long/slow so it must had been annoying to read weekly, but nowadays it's perfectly fine and enjoyable (and it gives plenty of screen time to side characters, in a series that people complain is too Deku centric). The anime is way too slow at times though, before the raid there's like two whole episodes of characters talking about what to do lol.

Thriller Bark is nowhere the best written OP arc at all, I honestly putted it in first place mainly for personal taste and nostalgia.

It honestly has everything I like from OP, a cool adventure and a nice mix of humor with drama; the Mugiwaras being and working together is something I really miss seeing, I liked how almost everyone got their time to shine (Usopp and Zoro mostly) and even if the antagonist wasn't really good compared to other ones, that Straw Hats's teamwork fight without Luffy was great, it was nice to see them shine without Luffy stealing the complete spotlight. Not to mention that Brook's reveal backstory was a pretty great way to end it. I felt like the whole arc was a good contrast after the whole mess in Ennies Lobby saga.

No way the best saga/arc from OP, but it honestly has everything I like from the series.

Didn't read the manga, watched the arc in the anime. And to me, BnHA was like... "the conceptually interesting anime my bf loves and I never grew to care much about", until that arc. It got very mature so it made the tension the characters live feel more realistic to me, and ressonate. The antagonist is creepy and cool and his mentality / plan with Eri is intriguing. In a world where the author can basically create any kind of super power - and we've seen so much of those - that was some great super power combo threat the heroes faced. It's also a very emotional arc, with good fights, so what's there not to like? Maybe it's cause I didn't read the manga that the pace didn't bother me at all.

I didn't like the Yakuza bit a lot as well but the whole goal and belief around Eri is just so damn cool.
