I get where you are coming from. I put all the GOAT hiatus series like Berserk, HxH and Vagabond in the Honorable mentions not only out of saltiness but also because they have won awards, top 10s, and so on for the past 15 years. Golden Age is even older if I am not mistaken. Sure life can interfere with a project and getting sick after working for years on a project must hurt the author as well. Nevertheless, my first thought when thinking about those series is not how great those arcs were, which they absolutely are. My first thought will always be Hiatus and probably never getting an ending to the wonderful story that was set up. Souring the whole ordeal a bit.

Agreed. I never said they were products nor said they should put out chapters despite what's going on in their lives expecting them to work themselves to death for their series. I'm allowed to be annoyed about their hiatus without feeling self-intitled.

You've listed several reasons for their hiatus. Do we have confirmation on any of them?

HxH is health issues. Cronic back pains iirc.

I assume the same applies for Berserk, in his prime Miura ever saw the light of the day. He is 50-something right now and after decades of working in this industry I would be surprised if he didn't have any sort of issue. Not only that but the art in Berserk has quite a level of detail and he seems to draw ahead, given the fact that he puts out 2/3 chapters before going on hiatus again.
