Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I wonder, where were those strong fanbase during Samurai 8 run?
Yabuki has a strong fanbase built up through his multiple hits spread amongst different magazines now. It's not like say Kishimoto or Fujimaki who had a failure following their SINGLE ultra successful series where it's harder to know if the fans will follow.
See second quoted post.
I think that for a mangaka's first big series they run the risk of people being fans of the series rather than of the artist themselves.
If an artist has had multiple popular series they will have different types of fans. Especially the type of fans that now recognize what to expect from the mangaka as they've enjoyed several things by them and know that they'll like more.

When most casual audiences think of Naruto, they think of mainly the series rather than Kishimoto themselves because outside of Naruto he hasn't defined himself. However, when someone like Yabuki gets brought up discussion often comes up of Black Cat, To Love Ru, and his Darling Franxx adaptation. His fanbase is more devoted.

Both Mashle and Undead Unluck are having a nice cast so far. I'd say I'm a little more intrigued with the Undead Unluck since there are members of the Round Table who we still know very little stuff, like Unbreakable.

I guess the next Jump manga to get its second cover will be Ayakashi Triangle. Hopefully Yozakura is still alive for its 2nd anniversary and gets the cover it should have gotten for the 1st anniversary.

What do you all think will get the issue 47 cover? I'm going to guess Dr Stone because it's been way to long since it got a cover, plus with the America arc wrapping up they could use it to promote whatever arc is coming next or something.

I actually see only two possibilities: Dr.Stone and My Hero Academia. I'd say Dr.Stone but with it getting color pages in this issue, maybe it could be delayed to issue 48, dunno.

I see both of them getting issues 47 and 48 cover anyways. Issue 49 ??? (Black Clover? Is the only relevant manga that wouldn't be with a cover on issues post-40 if my theory goes right. There's also We Never Learn, but I don't see it getting covers anymore), and maybe issue 50 is the start of a new serialization round.

My prediction in a nutshell:
Issue 47: Dr.Stone
Issue 48: My Hero Academia
Issue 49: Black Clover
Issue 50: New serialization round?
Issue 51: New serialization round?
Issue 52: One Piece?

Can't forget that odds of CSM getting an anime in festa are high, so there might be another cover by the end of the year

We got Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0 in Spain:

How is the situation of JJK volume 0 in other countries? Did Viz release it?

As controversial and debatable this always is, and I'm not even gonna bother about arguing it, Boruto's a disaster that has affected in a severe negative way Kishimoto's name. And actually, this shouldn't even be that up for debate, considering how much of a disaster its progress sales-wise is. Boruto was in a way Kishimoto's comeback, even if not directly involved, and if such a huge amount of the fanbase leaves throughout its run, then surely whatever comes next won't have the same decent reception Boruto initially had. And even less if it's such a mess as Samurai 8 was.

Sales wise.

Well there has been a decline, but talking about disaster seems excessive to me, we are still talking about a series that is on V-Jump.
In the end, for a sequel-spin off it sells quite well.

It switched magazines for a reason, though. Also, you’re making this a semantics argument, but Raf’s point was that Boruto negatively impacted Kishi’s reputation.

Do you dispute that argument?

The change probably took place because a monthly series was better.

But to say that the series is a disaster that has compromised Kishimoto's reputation is quite ridiculous.

In short, it continues to go on, it has an anime that despite everything is quite followed and that has continued for three years, on MP it is the third series for views, one of his fandom however there is and we have seen that the last volume has even had a rise ......

That is, how should it have damaged Kishi's reputation? Counting that then not even he writes it ....
