Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I guess Boruto isn't so popular, but I wouldn't say it is a disaster that ruined Kishimoto's reputation.

Much less would I say that Boruto is the reason why there has been no enough support for Samurai 8.

At worst, as Samurai 8 was not really Kishimoto return (since we have Boruto), WSJ promotion about Kishimoto's return doesn't have the effect they want.

I really think the idea that the fanbase build by the success of Naruto are mainly fans of Naruto is the most likely.

Yabuki has more succesful works, so it has sense he has a bigger fanbase as author.

I can say that regardless of whether sales are down or not, Boruto will not be canceled.
1) because he's not in Jump for a long time, he's in V jump, and I don't know how things work.
2) his anime still has an audience and is successful, so it is decided, we can complain about what is his but he will continue I don't know until when.
"I don't know how things work" is not a reason or argument for why Boruto will not be cancelled.
Boruto certainly has more security in V Jump than WSJ, however I still don't think it is immune from cancellation if the numbers continue plummeting.

Yeah, Kishimoto doesn't even write Boruto so I don't like the argument that it's Boruto that ruined his reputation. I just don't think he has a reputation beyond Naruto.

Kishimoto doesn't write Boruto but since its a sequel to naruto its like his name is still attached to it

Black Clover Gaiden: Quartet Knight: 300.000 copies (digital and physical)
I'm curious, is this selling more per volume than the actual game has sold?

See ya for the next 6 years at least (already 4 from the 10 stated by Kodachi), probably a lot more for the anime since is a pretty good success :super
Thanks for literally proving my points!

Here we go again. The level of animation despite everything cant save mediocre storyline. This movie can have Takeshi Koike as main animator its still not going to be really good due to data used.

As for Boruto, even the sales of the Super manga are not proportional to the success of the original manga series.

In the end they sell well for a series on V-Jump, the focal point of the franchise is now the anime and the films, so much so that Toriyama and Kishimoto don't give a damn until they get the royalties ...

Bot the manga sell well for the magazine where they are and that's okay with them.
They are actually very different lol
DBS manga first volume didn't sell well but the sales improved (I think it was during Black arc) while Boruto sale is getting worse like the other use posted.
You can even see both sequel impact in the manganime world seeing that there wasn't a naruto game since 2017 while we have 2 popular DB games and the main Naruto game developer (ciberconnect) is now with Kimetsu and DB games.

This is not what I am saying.

The concept is that they are similar. They are both series on the VJump that on balance do not sell as much as their mother series, yet they still manage to get by thanks to the fact that the focus of merchandising is something else.

Declining sales count for nothing, especially as Super is also declining.

Can you show me how is declining super?, I don't follow the series so the last news was the film and the sales growing.
But again, they are two different cases, one was a V jump series that improved his sales and reputation(both manga and anime) while the other was a jump manga transfered to a V jump because it have a declining sales.
PD: Also, we aren't in a console wars thread, the 'declining sales mean nothing' is a weak argument

For Boruto

Super had more ups and downs, while Boruto after some volumes downhill with the last one regained momentum.

I would not say, since it has been established that the strong side of both franchises is not the manga ....

You confuse print copies with copies sold , some of the link doesn't tell you how many days was the volume selling (and the final numbers ) and you didn't even put a source in the last volume.
And again I was saying that both cases were different ant it felt like that, the DBS manga improve his sales along with the anime while the Boruto sales is in decline if we compare it with the firsts volume.
